It's bad to mock the US....However to me Ebola is a biochemical weapon tested on Africans by the US,that's the fact.
It's just dat Nigerians run to God ...If not it would have been worst, this prove why Americans are surprise as to how we tamed the deadly Virus in Nigeria.
The International media should shift their attentions from African to The US n Europe. Enough of biased journalism!

Nigerians cancel trips to America and Europe over Ebola?? You're kidding right? Or is this some sort of news satire?

If it's real then I doubt if these people seriously have visas to the listed countries.
It is most likely satire. However, not everyone is desperate to go abroad.

Lol....some people above me no just get the geek of dis news. Prayer Warriors. Nigerians taking a swipe at the US. I'm loving it. Our turn to discriminate the almighty United State of America. Please quarantine them as they are coming into the country o.

Our Media and Journalist should do the needful and what they do best. They need to make sure this news goes viral outside the shores of Nigeria. Let the Us especially CNN hear about this.

Uwa na eme ntuari............it means what goes around comes around.

over to America and Europe, them don turn to flight risk areas cos of EVD. the one that hurt me most was some months back when i went to a friends office only to find his white American colleague putting on gloves and when i asked him why, he said its cos of EVD that he intends visiting the market place which could expose him to our Ebola. I guess he will now continue wearing his gloves even when he gets back to the states.

While l give kudos to effort of Nigerian Govt, especially Lagos Govt and most importantly, our health workers (special note to ones like Dr. Aedadevo who paid the supreme sacrifice to ensure that it did not get out of hand) l am wondering whether we actually beleive that it was our sheer effort that made us contain this Ebola?

We have been forming superman of recent, about this Ebola and it appears that we are begining to take things for granted.
Okay, l have not seen ANY EFFORT at checkmating ROAD TRAVELLERS which form the bulk of human movement in Nigeria.

Of recent, l observed the sheer number of people who travel on FOOT, MOTORCYCLE and VEHICLES ACROSS COTONOU BORDER without any form of check at all!
Any of those thousands of people on a daily basis could be a carrier!
And we have such porous length of borders allover, with neighbouring countries!
shocked shocked
Mind you, it may not manifest until a few hours or even a day, after crossing over, even if you do the "temperature check" at the border.

My plea is that Nigerians should PLEASE not get complacent. Ebola is REAL, it KILLS and it is MERCILESS.
We still need to avoid (or at least exercise extreme caution) large gathering of people (Mosque, Church, Crusades, Parties, Markets, Schools, Buses, Viewing Centers, e.t.c).

Remember, all it takes is JUST ONE INFECTED CARRIER.....to kill thousands and millions of people .... especially in a crowded location like our cities!
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE!
...meaning: O'oju la'lakan fi'nsori!

Let us continue to do the test, wash our hands regularly, wear face mask and hand gloves, wear rain coat (thank God its rainy season now), eat ewedu, avoid contact with anyone's bodily fluid (from mucus, tears, urine, saliva, excreta, sneezing, kissing, e.t.c).
Even s.ex, sef, wear condom for now, abeg!

Our Government (Uncle Jonathan!) should also make money available to buy more PPE (Personal protective Equipment) for our health professionals so that they can be more encouraged and emboldened to assist in treatment and containment.
No use "committing suicide", after all these years in medical school, abi?
And please warn that our useless Minister for Health to stop diverting money meant for Ebola Project into buying Vehicles, like his life depends on such vehicles! What a shame! (Dont read any tribalism into that comment, it is a very silly decision for the Minister to make, at this material time).

Lastpage!

BTW: I suspect "some" Nigerians might have a higher level of immunity to the virus..... and thatexplains its low level of spread.
Just my thinking. I just hope they would not start kidnapping Nigerians for "blood serum", to develop an antidote! shocked shocked lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

That's not the point. There has only been 1 confirmed case in the USA brought by a Liberian, an AFRICAN, same with the other countries listed. If anything, the worries should be on trips to neighboring countries and the ones seriously fighting and struggling with the disease.

I love this news. grin grin grin let there be deliberate screening of the people from those two places before they are allowed into Naija.

First: all of them are suspects; therefore quarantine anyone from US or UK. Then screen them one by one grin grin grin grin the Minister of Health should go to the media and warn Nigerians not to travel to US or UK because they have Ebola. grin grin grin grin grin

It's our time to discriminate against them too.
Nonsense people.

people think everybody wants to migrate to the US?
Absolute fallacy.
What would somebody earning over NGN800,000/month be looking for in the US except maybe vacation.
The broke ones are the ones sleeping in embassies and understandably so.
Even the oyinbos are coming here in droves for the money.

All hands must be on deck, our survival as a nation depends on how we all come together to safeguard ourselves.

Information and sensitization is very important, especially now that the Ebola is begining to rear its ugly head in strange places far and wide! angry angry

On a funny side, cant remember the title of that film where there was an epidemic similar to Ebola and Govt had to give orders to the Military to "terminate" any and everyone that gets infected, ...just to contain it. Come and see mass hysteria!
Hope it does not come to that sha. undecided undecided
