Am from Okija, grew up at Iyiowa Odepke.

I want mkt to start moving toward the Oba section, I love the way those electrical guys sited theirs there and they made sure it is far from the Osha-Owerri Rd.
Those electrical guys move out from road because they really suffered in their previous location. They were in moore street and they don't have upto 50 shop when they are still in moore street, they normally have monthly night visitors that came to break their stores/warehouse to rob their goods because security in anambra was a very big issue then. They are the first traders to introduce street vigilante in Odakpu. I am always happy for those traders because their market has grown beyond imagination, they left when they have only few shops but they have grown beyond shop and they are now building plazas and bank inside their new site.

Its not an easy feat.

There is another international at that Oba, it was started by Mbadinuju financed by UBA and other firms, the mkt is of international standard but i dnt know why people are not occupying that place for close to 2decades.
Obiano is reconstructing that market, I don't know the traders he intend to drove to that site.

Govt should ban Mkts in Onitsha and Nkpor but they should be forced to move toward Ogbunike, Umunya and Oba side.
I want Govt to convert that open places beside Metallurgical Training Institute.

There is company called Fontop at Ozubulu Industrial Layout, the ground breaking was done by Mbadinuju, i dnt know howfa with it now but i know it has been abandoned.
Obiano has already ordered for the relocation of iron/rod dealers to umunya, he is building a permanent market for them over there.

Many companies like meduim scale large companies that were operating before the within the Harbour Industrial Estate like-
Iju Industries.
BC Ifegbo.
Brifina.
Olympic Packers.
Niger Chemicals.
Iwasic.
GMO...etc

Our govt need to look for the owners of these coy and negotiate how they will start production again because i could rmbr when i was a kid, these coys provide uncountable employment opportunities to many people.
Bc Ifegbo is still running, I can't say about others cos I don't know where its located.

Another thing i didnt like is the demise of GCM Onitsha, i wish SABMiller could have been sited somewhere else and GCM should be revitilize bc GCM was the highest employer of labour in Anambra State after the State Government.

I Thought GCM is inside Sabmiller cos I use to see their signboard at the front gate.

Chino will help confirm if they are still operating or not.

Btw I like your inputs.

Century Power Generation Limited (CPG) was set up to carry out electricity (power) generation as part of the effort to increase Nigeria's electricity generation capacity.

Century Power Generation is an affiliate of Nestoil PLC. The primary purpose of the company is to develop, build, own and operate efficient power generating plants in Nigeria and in Africa. We are an indigenous company with a vision of becoming one of the largest power providers in the region. At Century Power, we realise that reliable power generation is a pathway to re-energizing enduring economic growth, so we are committed to powering businesses, factories, homes and institutions. We also believe in a continuously improving, long term approach and are investing substantially to build a long term position in Nigeria.

Power Plant Projects
CPG is currently developing a 1500MW gas-fired power plant in Okija, Anambra State. The project is being developed in 3 phases; the first phase is a 495MW open cycle plant, which will be commissioned in 2015. The entire 1500MW capacity is scheduled to be completed by 2018.

Our Vision
To become the largest, most reliable power supplier in Nigeria, delivering an uninterrupted supply of affordable electricity to businesses, factories, homes, and institutions 24hours a day, 7 days a week.

Based on our values and an innovative approach to achieving results, we are determined to meet and exceed global benchmarks in the power generation sector.

I am just so happy with this development, just imagine what private sector can do in Anambra State if given the opportunity. Now will they be independent from Enugu distribution company (Emeka Offor). So that what happened to geometric power (in Aba) will not happen to them.
This can solve the power challenge in Anambra State and environs.

I used to pass BC Ifegbo papermill along Atani Rd just opposite PowerMike Sports Complex, the place is ruins now, maybe they moved to another place because they couldnt cope when Atani Rd was bad.

GCM is no longer working, some of my dad's tenants that were working there were paid off when Interfact bought the place.

Those Iron dealers and plumbing dealers along Uga Street, Port Harcourt Rd and Atani Rd need to be relocated to another site, their businesses are growing to unimaginable proportion, they neeed to look for expansive land to develop.

Oba side need development, i want Nnewi and Onitsha to be merged.

The geometric issue is very sad embarassed...that power plant would have turned around the economy of Aba and IGBO in general weather T A Orji like it or not angry. For me I trust Obiakpor to settle them, if it get to that extent sha.

Bc ifegbo sold his factory(land), the one your seeing to vinval(manufacture of card paper). And has moved to his warehouse opposite kriskol company and convert it to factory. Vinval use that bc ifegbo's company for his own warehouse.

Vinval is a new company just after power mike, I will be going to that side next week to get the pictures of new feeding mill just about the size of atiku's own, I am still asking for the owner of the feeding mill.

As for GmC, their signboard is at the front gate of sabmiller, I don't know if they are still operating but their plant must be inside that sabmiller facility since their signboard is at the gate post.

Why has no agricultural project been centered around the highly fertile Lower Anambra river basin. Every agricultural initiative in Anambra is highly focused in the upper Anambra River basin at Anam. I think we should begin to utilize other fertile agricultural land. The swamp condition is highly conducive for rice production even without irrigation.

[size=15pt]Nwanne we need it as well, Anambra need to finance prime office spaces, the face of doing business in Anambra need to be elevated to the international standard, firms will start coming, consulting firms, real estate, oil and gas, aviation, manufacturing coys will start acquiring those office spaces, international coy that will occupy the buildings are not hard to find, even high-rise hotels overlooking the River Niger should financed promoted shore up the area and promote tourism, we need to change our already urbanize skyline to something international in outlook.

Its not a white Elephant project because office spaces are becoming very scarce in Onitsha so people are now using residential flats and partition it to come up with an office.

If i laid my hands on some intimidating bucks now, what i will do in Anambra is just to delve into four investments areas.
1-A Steel manufacturing Company.
2-A five Star Hotel in Onitsha and maybe a four star in Nnewi.
3-Financing of two prime officespace buildings in the heart of Onitsha(20 storey buildings each)
4-An Internet services providing company like Swift and Spectranet in Lagos that will cover the entire south east like we use to have Rainbownet then

....i know where to put the money in Omanbala nay Igboland

[size=14pt]Even Ogbaru is a very important agricultural belt in Anambra State but developers have bought all the lands at Odekpe, Ohita and now Atani is feeling the expansion and chased away farmers to build blocks apartment, i think focusing on those places that are far from the major commercial centres should be encouraged.
Lands in onitsha and environs are very expensive for some to use hectares for farming, Omanbala is well positioned, lets focus on that Anam, Nzam. Omor, et al side, devlope all the farm settlements there so that they will supplying foods to the major cities while lands in major cities should be used for siting industrial parks and other developmental projects
