Why would this constitutional provision remove your attachment to your land? Land ownership is not affected by this. Even with your attachment to your ancestral land, anyone with money can come and buy any piece of it today - that will not change with this new constitutional provision.

On a brighter note, it will eliminated discrimination against people born in any state as far as benefits accorded to indigenes go. No one should feel threatened by less discrimination.

I think you misunderstood the provision because you wrote "...but making state of residence that of origin, is detrimental to our way of life as africans." The provision contains no such stipulation. For now, it affects people who are born in a particular state, not those who reside there.
You can buy land you can build a life anywhere you want to in this country but being born in a particular locality dosent make you an indigine of that place. Oga this is not America, ours is not a country of immigrants, its a country of diverse ethnic nationalities. Not in a hundred years

Being that you are a law abiding citizen, you'd abide by the law which will make people born in a place, indigenes of that place.

the very definition of 'indigine' is indigenous peoples. Your parents settled in a locality less than a generation ago and all of a sudden you demand to be made an indigenous person? Sorry. As long as it remains one naija feel free and do your thing but put that nonsense 'indigine' talk to rest
