Why Jonathan Is Afraid To Declare For 2015 by egift(m): 10:58am On Oct 23, 2014
Even after muscling all his opponents of the Ticket. All the relevant arm of PDP endorsing him. Thousands of thugs drying out in the sun. Many individuals registering multiple support groups. President Goodluck Jonathan has refused to announce his intention to run. In fact it is on record that he has never said a word to that effect for the last 4 years.

Those that making noise all over the place are only stating his "Body Language". Please has his support base become so deaf and dumb that Mr. President only means of communication is Sign Language?

On this thread we will be highlighting some of the reason why Jonathan has waited till this moment and is yet to declare his intention.

1. He is afraid. Afraid of loosing. Afraid of the tag, "first Nigerian President to be kicked out of office". His is afraid of what Asari and other militants will do to him after returning home empty handed, etc.

2. He had hoped to have Chibok girls before declaring. Instead of that, he is presiding over the abduction of more girls and women.

3. He knows that by forcing himself to the ticket, he will loose Northern votes and even have protest votes of dedicated PDP members across the nation.

4. In the run-up to 2011 election, Jonathan promised to serve one term to Nigerians and more importantly to top PDP power brokers like OBJ. In fact OBJ expended a lot of Political capital and goodwill trying to convince others (the major promise was that Jonathan will do a single term as GEJ promised).

5. Destroying the PDP as a party. Whenever he say "not overheating the polity", he is referring to the heat and shock-wave that will hit PDP once he force his way through. So he is saving it for the last minute.

6. Jonathan will like to go home in peace, but the Professional Praise Singers around him are displaying their trade before him. And it is very attractive.

Will Jonathan declare? I believe so. In fact if he don't, Madam P will buy and submit it for him. All the Cabal are afraid of losing their loots and becoming accountable for what they have stolen from Nigeria.

Every Nigerian want him to contest, so that we can wear him the tag "the first Nigerian President to be kicked out of office".

What other reason or factor has kept President Jonathan from declaring?

The last time he campaigned,he said he had no shoes and nigerians foolishly voted for him. He is afraid to declare again because he is yet to come up with another campaign slogan to decieve Nigerians again.

You're right. The abduction of more girls and women by those loyal to the opposition. So very soon, we will see APC members lead the campaign of #bringbackourwomen

PDP has adopted GEJ as their presidential candidate but he is waiting for the return of the girls before he declares. Is that not a sensible thing to do?

I also think you should be more concerned on who flies the APC banners.

GEJ has the constitutional right to decline to contest if he so wish...

Hence I don't see why his declaration or non declaration should be an issue...whether he declares or not Nigerians are voting for their choice in 2015 whether PDP or APC

He will declare when he comes up with new ziggie to tell Nigerians why we should allow him to continue....

BTW....What is the transformation agenda?, obviously he can't campaign on that premise of transforming.

Egift is jobless and has been surviving from handouts from Liar Muhammed.
Anyone who has a meaningful job cannot be found spending 24 hrs creating baseless threads on social media sites.

As you keep bragging on nairaland:

1) PDP won Ekiti governorship election

2) Six Ekiti APC Assembly men defected to the PDP

3) PDP won a senatorial election in Niger state

4) PDP last week won House of Reps election in Benue

5) The entire PDP family is growing in leaps and bounds

He's afraid to declare because he wants to see who APC will present as their candidate.

If he's sure Buhari will not get the ticket, he will declare the next minute.

If he thinks Buhari has a good chance of getting the ticket, he will not declare until forced to do so.

He is so scared of the man that could get over 12 million votes without a party structure, without good funding, without any serious backing from the political heavyweights during the last presidential election.

u r a learner.

1) jonathan did not kidnap the chibok girls, its the responsibility of the army and defence ministery . the way APC are going about it, people are now aware they re using the chibok girls kidnap for their cheap political gain. they put their political interest above that of Nigerians, that is why they wish the girls dont return. That is why they hardly played any role to ensure the boko haram issue was put to an end. just to mock jonathans administration while Nigerians die.

2) who said he is afraid of loosing? do u think one on one today, what all jonathan has achieved today that buhari will win him in an election. Forget all the noise by the miss guided youths making moise about buhari. Those that matter in the country and those who are enlightened in the affairs of the economy of this nation will not vote buhari. wether u like it or not, Nigerians have not forgotten the innocent corpers that were killed by buharis inciting statements in 2011. Th e average Nigerian still sees boko haram as muslim no matter what u choose to call them. All those non muslims who have lost family members, churches and property to boko haram . in their mind see it as an attack buy muslims.
We watch what is going on in the news, how violent islamic insurgents are killing and terrorising people all over the world. Non muslims are afraid to vote for a muslim president in. Religion will play a very important role in this election. Then the northerners who have seen what goodluck has done for them will vote gej. The nor th is no longer as united as it use to be. You will be shocked.
Then we talk about those from the east ss sw that will vote gej.
The moment buhari is nominated the presidential candidate of APC the party will be split into 3. Buhari, kwakwanso and atiku group. This will make it an easy ride for jonathan.

3) Jonathan will declare, dont forget there are pressing matters related to our economy that needs to be takeb care of. He is not ruffled about buhari, he knws he will win. He has to prapre his camp, get those in his cabinet who have to resign to contest for some post and mobilize the grace root. He also has to put our military in a good position not just to fight insurgents but to ensure that the violence of 2011 does not repeat after the election result is announced. We know that boko haram has both a religious and political wing. He does not want to declare to save Nigerians from more attacks from the political arms of the terror group. working to ensure that peace returns to Nigeria before elections.

I am not a gej supporter, but i know buhari is no match for the gej of today. APC better shop for a better candidate. You dont understand the politics of Nigeria. Nigeria politics is that of corruption. A saint cannot become the president of Nigeria, because u must need the help of corrupt politicians to climb that lather. That means buhari is not the saint u think he is.

Why do u think people like chris okotie and path utomi hardly get enough votes during election? The have to been tested and trusted for corruption. secondly religion plays a role too.

So u dont know what is on ground. Keep ur fingers crossed as events unfold. Buhari will face the wrath of the north if he emerges presidential candidate of APC because they knw he has failed already.

Like i said earlier u are still a learner in Nigerian politics.

Mr. President is making wide consultation to ascertain the credibility of his sellability. As egift rightly said, the 50 50% chance of not being voted could be responsible. The sudden unprecedentent height in Buhari's popularity is also a cause of concern to the pdp why the declaration is taken too long. Only pdp crumb seekers disconnected from reality fails to see the massive force Buhari is pulling across the country with no money to throw around. I think is only wise for pdp to have deeper thinking cos the tornado that will sweep them off will not only be disgraceful but will ensure they spent the remaining of their miserable years behind bars. The fear of Buhari is the beginning of countless strategies.

OP ur brain definitely needs to be checked!
Is not clear that the President GEJ is a Goal driven leader? Instead of pursuing being re-elected he choose to focus on improving the nation and u are here talking about him being afraid?
Afraid? APShiit and their members need a progressive brain seriously.
Without GeJ campaigning he will still win 2015 elections and even flawlessly since he has a very weak opponent to contend with (serial loser buhari)

There was anxiety yesterday following the recession into a closed door meeting by President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice-President Namadi Sambo and President of the Senate, David Mark with National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Adamu Mu’azu.
The Presidential delegation drove to Mu’azu’s residence in Asokoro District for the session.
The meeting might be connected with the 2015 presidential poll of which the President was yet to make an official declaration.
As at 8.36pm, all the leaders were still in Mu’azu’s residence for what a source described as a “crucial session.”
Soldiers took over all the roads leading to Mu’azu’s residence.
