The idea of email issshhhh or nomenclature is when u are applying to a one man's company or a meagre company. Multinational coys do not look at that. Once ur Cv contains all the necessary info and the REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, they can't do without than to invite you. And mind u! Big coys don't do email recruitment, what they do is website recruitment and if u apply correctly meeting all the specifications, the programming software will surely invite you for the aptitude test. Its now left for you to prove ursef in the aptitude test and at the interview session. Coys are after the stern stuff u are made of.

Thanks for your comments Alex. You are very correct on some points. However,though the multinationals you mentioned hardly recruit by email,you cannot take away the fact that having an email address that's as professional as can be will do you some good...especially during your interview when your CV will be in front of your interviewers.

Truth is there are no hard and fast rules. While some tips are general, others could be situational. For example, in a country like US, attaching your picture is not a bad idea.

I would also not agree with not writing your hobbies; in fact, it sometimes serves as an interest to the employer as they want to know what you do for 'fun'. I can only advise you put in 'smart' hobbies not 'watching movies' (most people do that) etc. Your hobbies; if it aligns with what the interviewer does serves as a 'gisting' point in some interviews. Just keep it smart

An aptitude test varies significantly from recruiter to recruiter. But generally, you can do well to study GMAT questions. All the best in your test. #Insidify

Right now,I am not aware of any website that does an online resume review/test. The best you can get are websites that will ask you to either send them your CV and have them re-craft it for you,or help you craft a CV from scratch. All for a fee of course. Hope this helps. #Insidify

Hmmm....I got some tips from Philips consulting ( a top recruitment and consulting firm in the country) saying that hobbies can show your strengths. E.g. Some one who enjoys playing chess can be good with analysis and strategies, which is a strength. So it's quite conflicting with what you've said...

Thanj you for your comments. I too am familiar with Philips Consulting,and know they are good at what they do. Remember from the outset that I mentioned that there are no hard and fast rules to this. And as was aptly pointed out by @mustay in one of the comments on this thread,they are most times situational.
