1.What sort of bank statement did you submit? Online print out?
2. We're you salaries going directly to your bank account?

Dear justwise, please see my answers below:

1. Online print out.
2. I used my Savings account statement with presumption that my payslips would account for the salary account.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thks.

Hello people,

I got an email from Visa Lagos, saying your visa has been processed and that i should wait 2 working days before going to pick up my documents at the visa application center. My question is does this mean i was issued a visa or its just a generic email they send to everyone whether given visa or refused visa. People kindly respond, its taking forever to get my passport back from Teleperformance.

You asked for the refusal, online bank statement print out is not valid unless you take it to your bank for stamp and signature.

Payslips alone without bank statement showing where the salary is paid into is not suitable for visa application.

Thanks justwise. This is fair enough and very direct. I appreciate that.

How about the suggestion from "DisGuy" - "perhaps you can re-apply with full documentation and explain previos refusal in the space provided". What's your take on that and how soon do you think I could re-apply without being viewed as being desperate to enter the UK by a ECO?

Thank you DisGuy. I have been lifted by your kind answer. How soon do you think I can apply and that won't be considered too soon just like I already asked justwise.

I appreciate you.

@ Justwise

I have travelled to the UK before in 2008, infact i was born in the UK but do not qualify for automatic citizenship because my date of birth was after 1 Jan 1983. I recently applied for a business visa for a trip fully sponsored by my employers but was refused.

"As evidence of your funds and income you have submitted two bank statements from GT bank for accounts in your name. However, i note that there are large and irregular deposits entering the accounts in addition to your salary. These deposits are inconsistent with the account history and your stated income. You have not provided any evidence as to the origin of these deposits, i am therefore not satisfied that your personal and financial circumstances are as stated."

Justwise... it is true that there are some deposits which are not consistent with my stated income but these deposits come as a result of payments for my Freelance wedding Photography which was not indicated in my application form and also deposits made by a colleague of mine and mumsi that i help to pay their vendors/bills via online transfer payment system.
Also some of the deposits are from my employer to pay vendors for goods and services.

Please how do i represent all of this in my new application and what evidence do i show for my freelance photography?

Thanks a lot

Looking forward to your response

Good day all...

I've read through the thread, it's been quite informative but i have a peculiar case here; i would like to go to the UK come next february with my family. I've been denied UK visa twice in the past; 2012 and 2013. Reason being cash logments and inadequate cash respectively. I was a banker then and i was still single. However, my status has considerably changed; i'm married now with a child and i'm now running my own company. Pls i need your advise on the following;
A. My son was born in the US. Thanks to NL( https://www.nairaland.com/617280/give-birth-usa-cost-procedure). Pls do i use my son's US or Naija passport to apply for his UK visa.

B. What other document would you advise i attach apart from the underlisted

1. Marriage certs (Ikoyi registry and church's), wedding programme and pictures
2. Wife's passport with my surname and valid 2yrs visa -do we still attach change of name?
3. Our birth certs including son's own from the US and receipts of his hospital bills in the US
4. My company CAC registration docs
5. LPO's and contract award letters
6. Statement of accounts
7. C-of-O's of landed properties
8. Letter of resignation from my former employer (A leading bank in Naija) and their acknowledgement - i had applied as a banker twice in the past
9. My tax clearance while i was still in the banking industry. I have not obtained my company's TC as it's barely 2yrs old
10. Hotel reservation
11. Excel spreadsheet itemising our spending; flight ticket, hotel bill, shopping, feeding, transportation etc

Pls what other document do we attach? Pls note i do not pay myself salary (i take what i need from my company's acct) so pls how do i handle the income portion? How do i prove it and convince the VO? Thanks

Pls could you help run through the other docs? Should i move funds planned for the trip into our personal joint account? Do i present my son's US or Naija passport? What other docs would you suggest? Thanks

This is a thing that many get confused on.
What you MUST PROOVE is that you have sufficient funds to pay for the travel, accomodation and spending on your visit.
Also you must show strong ties to return home after your visit.
If the people are over 18 it will not count as a family, all must show the funds and details required.

Hello Justwise, i'm about to apply for a UK Tourist visa. i have the following questions:

1. I have 2 accounts, one salary, and another i save money in. i usually move part of my salary to the savings account. i also have hotel/per-diems paid into my salary account. All payments from my office is spelt out in detail in the account statement. i do buying and selling and that money often enters my salary account.i intend to use both accounts for my aplication. At what point do i explain the extra income, as i don't have a registered business - Is it the box at the end of the application that requests for comments?

2. Can i make use of an online print-out of my account statement? does it have to be certified by the bank e.g by stamping & signing?

3. can you kindly assist with a link for booking a cheap hotel for 10days, as i intend to put this in my application and is required to show an evidence of hotel booking as part of my supporting documents

If that is the case and its the govt policy to encourage small businesses then explain that in the form.

Moving money around now will look suspicious, its always good to have savings or current account separate from business account.

You need to take your time to explain to the ECO how you run your business and for the fact that you have only one account which happens to be your business account as well.

Use your son's US passport.

Make a mini-budget of the trip and attach it to your visa application package and outline places you tend to visit with your family while in the UK.

If you are an adult then you are expected to foot the cost of the trip, teens aged 18 and below can be sponsored and not an adult.

Yes you can apply as a family...e.g. husband and wife and their kid(s)

2. Yes it has to be stamped and signed by your bank

Hello,
I applied for a UK Visa recently, my appointment is this Friday. I just realised today while looking through my documents that my hotel is nowhere where I would be having my activities in London.
I know this can be grounds for a refusal and I am thinking of cancelling that booking and including a letter in my application. The letter would explain that I made an error earlier and I had corrected it by booking a more appropriate hotel.
What do you guys think?
