it is not the duty of the president to sign the contract but the minister of petroleum who is signing on behalf of the goverment. Buhari might not have initiated the project but under his tenure as minister,he made sure the refineries were built. So tell me why he should not be given accolades for that?

Of course he should be given accolades, but u pipu should stop making it feel like he masterminded the whole project single handedly,

Buhari tried as a petroleum minister not as a president or head of state.

Fashola was on his way to Mecca for pilgrimage when Ebola broke out in his state and the guy turned back and went home to battle Ebola, that is called minding your business. Boko Haram takes over Mubi amputating people's limbs and Nigerians calling for help and the next day Jonathan is on his way to Burkina Faso to help them find peace. What do we call that?

How many hajj do you think Fashola will observe in a year considering his kind of person and religious devotion?

Maybe you missed it

I wouldn't want to dwell on this now, however, I will copy two paragraphs from Prof. Wole Soyinka...

When it sooths you, you quote Wole Soyinka. This is the same man your likes call mad old professor when he says the truth that appears to tilt in favour of the opposition.

The question for you Obiageli, why did these people get out of the country, in worst cases like Uba Ahmed, get out of jail when borders was as tight as steel zip locks? Could it then be said that the border wasn't as tight as we were meant to believe? If this is the case, could it also mean that some officers in Buhari administration had a hand in corruption by letting some "special" people go while the likes of Ekwueme was in prison?

Finally, can we say that if high profile people could get out prison and the country, that smuggling and illegal oil bunkering wasn't stopped by Buhari?

I wait your answers, I will reply not today because it's time to bed in my side of the world. Thanks
Could you give us the names of other high profile corrupt politicians that Buhari didn't try?

Nigeria To Build 6 New Refineries In $4.5
Billion Agreement
Written by Elombah.com
Nigeria today signed a memorandum of
understanding with an American company to
build six modular refineries with a combined
capacity of 180,000 barrels a day, the country’s
Trade and Investment Ministry said. In a U.S.-
Nigerian joint venture comprising Vulcan Energy
Corp. and Petroleum Refining and Strategic
Reserve Ltd., the
Venture group signed a $4.5 billion (N697.5b)
deal to build the refineries in collaboration with
the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,
NNPC, Trade and Investment Minister Olusegun
Aganga said today in an e- mailed statement
from Abuja, the capital.
refineries
Two of the refineries are expected to be
completed within a year.
“We are working in collaboration with the
Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the NNPC;
we are working together as a team to ensure
that in 12 months’ time, we witness the
commissioning of the refineries,” Aganga said.
Nigeria, Africa’s largest oil producer, plans to
boost foreign investment in industries by making
it easier to do business in the country. The
government is focusing on changes that can
improve the investment climate and on the
overhaul of industries.
The continent’s most populous nation, with
more than 160 million inhabitants, relies on
foreign fuel supplies for 70 percent of its
requirements because of inadequate refining
capacity, Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-
Madueke said in November. It exchanges 60,000
barrels a day of crude for products with
Trafigura Beheer BV and a similar amount with
Societe Ivoirienne de Raffinage’s refinery in Ivory
Coast, according to NNPC.
The refineries are to be located in areas where
there are crude oil pipelines in collaboration with
the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
Each modular refinery, when completed, will
refine up to 30, 000 barrels of crude oil per day
and produce up to five million litres of petrol,
diesel kerosene and LPFO.

@datolee, is it not obvious these are not the kind of people to engage in an intellectual presentation of facts on issues? If the chief defender of evil (barcanista) was intellectually killed with raw facts in your thread, Wud u expect his coterie of evil advocates with miniscular intelligence to hold the battle frontline of truth with tact and sagacity? Let me inform u again, the OP of this thread has little or no intelligence to engage ur kind. seal up and let her flame in her show of emptiness. Shalom
