Great thread.
If you are aspiring to start a poultry farm, you can check the following thread for farmland purchase.

GOOD MORNING HOUSE. I AM NEW IN THIS BUSINESS AND I HAVE ABOUT 300LAYERS THAT ARE 24WEEKS OF AGE AND ARE YET TO LAY. PLS HELP ME. AM GETTING FRUSTRATED. THEY ARE BROWN LAYERS AND I GIVE THEM CAPSFEED. WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLS REPLY SOON. ITS URGENT

I hope you are not overfeeding or underfeeding them... 200layers will consume 1 bag of feed (25kg)...that makes 1.5bags (37.5kg) for your 300 birds. Give them fresh clean water always.
And don't forget proper sanitation is also very important.

Grownaira. Why don't you create new/separate thread for this? I believe by so doing you get more traction & relevant suggestions. Meanwhile, I'm not much into broiler & may not be able to suggest something worthwhile here
Why not here? Its a poultry thread isn't it? You don't just create threads. Just saying....

good job sir! It depends on the type of housing u want and the capital at hand. If the 2 plots include brooding house and the office, that means you have a plot left for your farm, and that will accommodate about 3500 birds.

aAK1. AmoBygn Finished Feeds is quite good. I've used it for 3 set of layers and have always gotten great result. However, I can't say much about their Finisher.

HENRIETTAPOWER. I've never heard about CapsFeed, so I wouldn't know if it is rich enough. However, I'll like to suggest that you give them artificial lightening. Let us say you put on bulb at the pen between 6pm & 9pm. As to the quantity being fed them, I'll advise you keep it at 90gramme/bird for now. Increasing it to 120g/bird now may be detrimental in the long-term. Meanwhile, why don't create a new topic about your concern? I believe more people will see it & may proffer needful solution.

I think you should check online for the locations of Choice Farm and/or Animal Care. One of them should close enough to your location.

Quite unfortunate I lost one of my friendly and active cockerel aged 3 months today to cardiovascular disorder(heart failure). No signs of illness, its well fed and ever active.
Hope our vet Dr. Can diagnose early signs of this sudden death in poultry before it get out of hands.

[quote author=jamp post=27755585]Fellow farmers. The cost of getting commercial feed is going up. Can u imagin that top feed layers goes for 2500-2600. This is not good for us in abj considering d fact that jos people are selling cheaper than us.

I want to change to a cheaper feed else I will end up working for people.[/quote

@ Jamp, why don't you change to animal care feed, that's what I use, though the cost now is about 2150.

How can I boost cockerel's growth?
Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by jamp: 4:23pm On Nov 12, 2014
@pet01 I changed to animal care sometime ago and the production dropped drastically. but when I went back to top feed d production rose again. I dont want to try animal care again, I want cheaper feed and same quality with top feed. am thinking of supreme feed.
