I had formed the habit of being the last person to leave the office....because being in the creative industry, you need a lot of personal space to synch your train of thoughts and put your ideas together to create an alluring presentation... So I just preferred working when everybody had left the office...say from 7pm...and very many times I had to pass the night in the office.

So on this particular day... I was working late as usual, my office was at V/I and I stayed in Ajah... One of the other motivations to stay late at work too was to allow the "TJFH" (Traffic Jam From Hell) to ease out; and this normally happened between 10pm and 10:30pm.

I looked at the time and it was already 10:45pm...I wanted to just pass the night over as I had done dozen times before but I opted to just "shook" head dey enter road like that.

11pm....I was on the road.

I had my bag, my phone and the OFFICE THUMB DRIVE on me.. The office thumb drive was very important because we were driving some major proposals that we wanted to submit to some companies within that period.

The road was free... No traffic jam.

Normally when I drop at my last bustop at Ajah, I would take a bike to my place, but since it was already ticking towards 11:30pm, I didn't see any bike. So from the last bustop, I started trekking down the road path that led to my house.... The road path was close to the main road so that if you're walking down the road, you would see the head lights of cars flashing at you from the other side till the cars pass you.

On getting to one mini-coke depot, ghen! ghen!.. Two guys with cutlass just came out... Infact I think they flew out sef, because one moment I looked in that direction, there was nobody, the next moment I'm faced with two guys with cutlass.. One of them held me by the belt and was dragging me away from the road side, I think to avoid the attention of passing cars.

They started rough handling me... Forcing out my watch... My hand band, my bag, my phone and then..... The office thumb drive.. After taking everything they chased me back to the side of the road.. I think I was in a momentary state of shock as they were ripping those stuff off of my body because when they chased me back to the road side and I realized the office thumb drive was gone... I started pursuing them oooo... I was like "Please my thumb drive my thumb drive"

That was one of the stupidest things I'd ever done.... As if area boy understand wetin be thumb drive, so as I was pursuing them and pleading for the drive, one of them now turned back with cutlass and started chasing me back.... Omo!.. See running ooo... So I finally out ran him and got home.

My story goes like this

......it happened on Sunday morning in UNIBEN,a time where every normal person would just be waking up from their sleep, that was when I was returning from night class,on my way I didn't know that the satanic forces of osasogie(an off campus annex just like ekosodin) where conceiving something sinister for me,as I left my class to begin this journey to meet my water loo,I saw a group of worshippers moving in a cluster ,and I was alone ,my mind convinced me that all was well,
As I passed the osasogie gate,to join with the fggc road, all was still well with me,then suddenly I spotted a car whom I thought was facing some problems,/ so as a good Samaritan/ that I was I drew closer to the Audi ride to see if I could render some assistance..Ghen Ghen Ghen....immediately I got there all four guys came out of the car in unison and one of them told me to pull my bag ,I decided to negotiate with him ,and I said"bros nothing dey my bag" that was when he pointed a gun @ me...o boy na so I dash am the bag ohhhh..he asked for my phone, and in my pocket there were two phones,a cheap 1 and an expensive 1,na so I dash am the cheap 1 oh,and they entered the car and zoomed off leaving me in a state of frustration
I tot robbery was only at Ekosodin where I reside...make Una dey come we are safe in Ekosodin. Osasoge is the new Hot place now oo...make u know wetin dey sup.

Are u mad I screamed in disbelief as the first omila shows up. He is hesitant and we are hugging the floor, my roomy says to him
" Bros notin dey here na only beans dey fire, we no even get money to give carpenter repair door thats why we jeje open am" bros abeg na beg we dey.

The guy just walks off.

When we were sure they had left as we jeje open door na so we jeje close door chop beans and bread go sleep.

We were the only ones to lock our door that night.

Was coming from class around 3am in the morning, noticed two bad guys were following me, they had no bag, so my instinct told me they are thieves, but there was nothing I could do, so I tried running, I couldn't outrun then, a huge guy crossed my path, pointed his gun, I literally urinated in my pants, the guy wanted to laugh, but he had to keep a straight face, they searched my bag (I had 16k inside) but they couldn't find it, God safe my ass, cos its departmental due for one course like that, the lecturer wouldn't have listened to any explanation, they told me to run off cos am poor and all that. I said thanks and ran like a mad man.

2006, my first year in unizik, i was naive n inexperienced. so wen des robbers came btween 8-9pm, my roomie dived to d floor screamin jesus jesus jesus, while i sat lookin at d gun on of dem pointed at my head. he asked, oya, wher d fone, and i innocently replied, which fone?? a flying kick to my left eye followed, dat was wen i realized wat we wer in for n i went flat on d ground. all des while francis my roomate was shoutin jesus , and dey asked him, so u dey shout jesus and u nor wan bring ur money abi? i surrendered evrytin i had to dem, both fone n spare fone, wallet n cash, den dey left, a few seconds later, one came bk n ran him hands down my neck as we wer lyin down der (probably to see if i had a necklace on me)..........

second experience was on our way bk frm startrekk at about 4am, a bike carryin 2 guys on white pulled up besides us n held my belt, while d oda pointed a locally made shotgun to my head n sed ,bros na ur fone we want, luckili for me, i wasnt wit any fone, cash or wallet. after ransackim me, dey borded der bike n zoomed off while still pointing der gun at me. ironically i was calm on des two occassons,no fright or fear or anytin atall

Re: Share Your Robbery Experiences Here... by Slymonster(m): 1:34am On Dec 17, 2014
I remember mine was in my 300lvl back then at Aau,i came back to my hostel and told a friend of mine that just came to stay with me,we should go to my neighbour room cos he comes to mine and i hardly go to his..(who send me that l day)naso we enter begin watch dbanj new video mr.endowed on his laptop while he was browsing with his friend laptop that came from igbenedion university to see him but wasn't around then.

We heard a knock, normally because it was just afta 7pm,he ask who is that and they said ken.So he open the door and four guys came in,i was the last to notice they were thieves till i saw my friend lying on the floor flat( when they hvnt said lie down... very loyal boy) the thieves then said to us UNA DEY HUSTLE ABI because they saw two laptop with modem on it..they took every damn thing from phone, laptop, ipod, money and even to our pam slippers.
Then my beating started just because i wore a gold chain, instead of the idiot to tell me to remove it nd i will gladly give him,he drag it off and the other part fell into my t.shirt and he said to the other thieves THAT THIS GUY NO WAN GIVE ME HIS CHAIN OO..omoi see slap from all corner.. after which they took it

then they saw my friend wearing a blue rosary chain and blue t.shirt..then they said all this guys na eiye men,u no see this one shirt..MAKE WE FALL THEM.."jesus" come see begging...MASTER MASTER!! WE NO BE ANYTHING OOO,afta awhile they told us to get into the bathroom and since i was the last to get in,they stop me that i should take them to the other room,I said to them..ABEG NO BE MY HOSTEL BE THIS lol even when it was mine, they said i should call who has the room. i call the guy and they took him to the next room...he still chop beating there too..I thank God i didn't go cos the one i receive in his room was enough ..they only rob two rooms out of 30 rooms nd left..

When the guy from igbenedion university came and was complaining and angry how a guy hit his side mirror of his car, little did he know they hv taken his laptop,as his friend told him to calm down and told him robbers hv taken his laptop.HE SHOUTED WHO SEND ME COME THIS TOWN,THE USELESS GIRL I CAME TO SEE IS MISBEHAVING.. i was feeling bad but couldn't help but laugh the way the expression of his face was as he was saying that over and over ..

it took me one full week to get this scene of my head..thank God sha

....So I was going home on this very hot afternoon, around 3 to 4 pm.

My guy I went to see, was seeing me off to the junction. We walked past a shop where guys
were drinking and smoking, one of the guys called my friend and they talked for a few minutes while I was waiting under the sun(I no wan near that shop wei they wie drinking and smoke). My guy came back and we kept walking but one of the guys in the shop kept calling my guy but he ignored him.

Then suddenly I saw two guys directly in front of us(they used a bike to meet up with us) and one pushed my guy and the other faced me and I said what do I have for them? I said nothing, then he lifted his shirt for me to see his gun, I was very very shocked because it was happening during the day and people were around but they just ignored us.

The guy said I should give him my gold necklace or he will cut it out. While the other guy dipped his hand in my back pocket and collected all the money there. One said to me "fine boy, you cme area and you no bring anything for us." And they left.

My guy said he knows them and that is how they terrorize the area. Some few months later, my guy called and said one of the Guys (Jerry abi na Jef) has been killed by a rival cult group.

Mine was very funny walahi.

I came out of a friends house in Aso C and called a bike man that would take me to mopol junction where I would get a cab that will take me home

The bike man said that he cannot follow the main road because it rained. He said that the road was slippery and dangerous to use at night. He was right sha and the only alternative was to follow kabayi. The road is not that good and could be lonely sometimes but I had no other option.

When we got close to MFM gate @ kabayi, the bike man stopped and asked me to come down. I thought something was wrong with his bike so climbed down but b4 I could say hey, two other guys had joined us.

One of them asked me what was wrong with the bike and I told him that I don't know.

The other one said that he would love to see my bag.

"My bag? For what" I queried.

"And your Wrist watch, phone and the money in your pocket" he added, Ignoring my question completely.

"Thats not possible" I said

No no no, I was not trying to put up an unnecessary struggle. They were young boys and I was sure that I could knock two of them down with with just a kick or two b4 they knew it and the bike man(who was not even paying attention to us) is no problem at all. but the guy had brought out a gun and pointed it at me b4 I could say more.

So I obediently handed over the bag to them.

"Oya bring your phone"

I did.

"Your wrist watch"

I obeyed.

It went on until they had collected everything they wanted to collect.

I swear I never knew that I was that obedient.

When it is over, the biggest of them said that I should pay the bike man.

"With which money?" I asked him.

"How much is it?"

"Just 200"

"Owk we will pay him and you had better hurry before you meet other bad guys, this road is not safe at night and I wouldn't try here again if I were you"

With that, he climbed the bike and they zoomed off.

Nah so dey take rob me bro.

I trecked that day sotey I come dey pity the Jehova witnesses.

I was lucky sha because they didn't ask me to remove my trousers and they were lucky too because Apollonia would have blinded all of them if they did.

I went back to the bus, I took the money from the spot. My cousin was suppose to write his pume the next day. We slept in the mallam's place for the night and zoomed off early in the morning.

My cousin really tried in the pume even with the trauma. Uniben didn't give him admission even when he passed the cut-off mark.
