Biafra attends AU meeting in Nairobi as member

Following the recent admission of the Indigenous People of Biafra to the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) General Assembly of the African Union (AU), the Supreme Council of Indigenous People of Biafra backed up by Bilie Human Rights Initiative yesterday sent its maiden delegation after admission to an ongoing AU meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, having been invited like other countries.

Disclosing this yesterday in Nnewi, Anambra State, the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Indigenous People of Biafra and former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, said the invitation to attend the meeting came from Addis Ababba, the headquarters of the AU just as other countries in Africa were invited.

He explained that the delegation whose membership he did not disclose is expected to spend five days in Nairobi, Kenya for the meeting.

“We received our invitation from Addis Abbaba the way others received theirs to be part of the meeting. And this means we are getting international recognition and opportunity to interact and present our case at the international level. It is a big leap forward,” Ikedife said.

People who should be happy of this because of the hate for biafra would rather be sad. ..what an irony?

Just wait as they will start cursing. ..well, cursing and ranting is part of their daily life after which they will look for a human head for ritual or someone to betray...lol

I think what Nigeria need now is to unite and create for themselves a positive change.#myopinion
Is it possible for AU to start recognising Biafra when it is not constituted yet?

Funny enough

Those that hate Igbos won't rejoice to see our efforts in leaving them so that they can live a good life without hate.

Just reminds me of pharaoh who hated the Jews but refused to let them go undecided

Then i guess there is ntin bad in biafran having their own republic. But you cannot eat your cake and have it. If u want biafra relinquish all ur post in the federal republic of nigeria.
2 Ur international passport and nigeria national indentity card hand it over to the nigerian authority.
3 And lastly those of you living in lagos. Go back to ur village

Should this happen before or after Nigeria stop exploring and exploiting their mineral resources?

A poll supposed to be held in the supposed biafra to determine whether we stay or leave.

Nigeria is her people, not the union or geographical confinement.
If the majority want Biafra, why shouldn't they get it.

The polls in Scotland comes to mind.

this must a joke! shocked

I hate biafra! Nigeria must be one.Our problems as a nation can't vanish if we realize that dream. I was invited by a friend to attend one of their numerous conferences in Hamburg, but I declined...why? I hate the ideology. Secession isn't always the solution to our problems. Ask S.Sudan e.t.c

We need to look inside us and purge ourselves, get ride of greediness, corruption, tribalism(it exists among the Igbos),jealousy,and...name them.

We are better off as Nigerians,dänke.

Why not go to Nairobi then to Addis Ababa and tell them to show you the proposed map of Biafra?

Do you want to go and protest Biafra invitation to the meeting?

Let's discuss the merits and demerits of African Union accepting Biafra as a member or rather observer.

I know Igbos are indisputably among the most educated peoples in Africa and, as such, I assume they must have hordes of experts who must have thoroughly analysed all the implications, negative and positive, of pursuing this dual-track approach in their search of national identity.

One the one hand, they are trying (and largely succeeding) to get the best political, economic and other benefits out of NIGERIA and, on the other hand, they are also trying to revive and sustain their aspirations for a separate country of OUT OF NIGERIA.

As an outsider, I can see more negative implications to it than positive, as it portrays the Igbos to the rest of Nigerians as a people in a perpetual national identity crisis, who are, therefore, less committed to the Nigerian project, as a result of which they should not be trusted as partners in a long-term relation.

This is just my personal layman opinion, anyway!
