Europe has never been united, They fight, they make agreements but they aren't united
I don't even care about Europe anyway, so why not forget them and think Africa

Well why are they all in the same place?

Springing up with yet another 'kingdom' name, playing bad/good cop with yourself with bouts of your usual full-blown racism mixed in, immediately familiar with key users you've interacted with extensively under your other identities - like Fulaman etc etc.You criticize yourself to make it less obvious, and you like putting on a show! You've been a woman (countless times), a pan-African, and innumerable other usernames of kingdoms long gone. You're really out of control! It's sad to watch, and yes, it's extremely embarrassing. I urge you to get some help, for Pete's sake.

I'm familiar with forums because I lurk around and read things before I sign up,

Ahh, I see, you read the argument with Terry Carr, Did you note the fact that I apologised on the another thread (the bantu one) thread later?

Did you also note the fact that I assumed he was Bantu because he was frequently on the Bantu Thread, and he made a thread saying somalis were slaves?

And I'm not axum so the bits in Italics, you might want to adrress with him

and @ artank, it looks like we were both right, Maakhir is a state in Somalia

www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/so-maak.html

Just like Banaadir and the others.

When I signed up with the username Maakhir my intention wasn't to name myself after a kingdom, but I heard of the state and I thought as a username it was pretty cool

abaayo, with all due respect I reckon your a bit paranoid

Rebuilding and improving on Glory of ancestors past is the only way to rebuilding Great nations in Africa..we are naturally cultural people, and the ways of semites and aryans that we follow today has served us absolutely no gain instead it has destroyed our system, driven us crazy and more diverse than ever.
Africa cannot be united as one, even Europe.cannot...but we can take pride in our history.and heritage, learn from our own ancestors for change, for nothing less than 3 centuries we have given our all to follow ways strange to our nature and we have suffered for it, first the Arabs nd later the Europeans.
we don't have peace but religious violence, we don't have unity in our countries but ethnic diversity...who brought this upon Africa? The same people we want to keep following like sheep

I agree with the importance of taking pride in the knowledge of our history and heritage, but I don't think literally following the ways of our ancestors is necessary. Do I think I need to start worshipping Waaq? No, I don't.

So If I from Djibouti start to worship Waaq, and you from Nigeria worship Sango(?), isn't that just as much religious and ethnic diversity as we began with?

It's high time Africans start thinking beyond ethnicity, and religion. Especially religion. It isn't working.

We need development and innovation. We need science.

No you don't need to worship Waaq, but an African certainly don't need Allah when you have a better, African option.

You see if you weren't a novice on Traditional systems you would know that pagans are identified only by ethnicity and nothing else. language nd culture makes the ethnicity, we all have the same spirituality coded in different myths. i can worship Sango in my home country and go to Benin/Togo and worship him with the Fon and Aja in a Xevioso temple, I can go as far as Germany and worship him as Thor.

I agree we should think past religion,.because it doesn't benefit us, our African ancestors were nt religious, they were cultural...our spiritual beliefs are reflected in our culture and traditions. In my native language Yoruba we didn't even have a word for religion until Islam converts. Religion is a foreign concept to us

we need science Yes!...but scientific knowledge from the West, Arabs or Within Africa? Cus if you reject our ancestors knowledge how can we develop scientifically when we are only following the West and Arabs while ignoring the beautiful knowledge in our fast dying heritage? You think African ancestors were idiots who didn't have scientific knowledge?

I see what you're trying to say, but that's relative. Typically, the 'better' option for anyone is the religion they were raised on - the one they're familiar with and already know. Even though I'm irreligious, I was raised on Allah and my parents worship Allah, and in that sense I have to respect that. Waaq, on the other hand, was abandoned en masse by long gone ancestors completely by choice for whatever reason. There's an obvious disconnect there. I don't feel any particular pull towards the religion (or any other for that matter), and as such it assumes the position of all the other thousands of unfamiliar religions out there.

Indeed, I did not know this. That's intriguing. Flexible. Can you go as far as a worshipping him as Allah, or Jesus?

Science doesn't discriminate. It belongs to whoever builds upon it. The same scientific principles that govern the 'West', Asia, and the Arab world, also govern Africa - we're on the same planet after all. As stated in the previous post, I do believe in holding on to our heritage and ancestral knowledge as well. I'm not sure I completely follow you? Care to expand?

I disagree. I was raised in a religion too, but now I realize, am better off away from that religion.
It all boils down to knowledge and reality of mind. so what stops an African from knowing his ethnic beliefs?

Exactly my point so why don't we look to Africa for scientific knowledge? Why the West all the time? African education has a lot to offer the world of science but when the Africans aren't interested how can the world be?

Merely knowing they're my "ethnic beliefs" isn't enough to get me to actively start believing/practicing. It isn't enough. I, nonetheless, commend you for finding your way.

No

So it only works on polytheistic gods? I thought it was all about spirituality.
