Its so easy for some men here to type and say its no big deal about it,now here is for the men.

Now assume its vice versa, your wifey invites and old male friend whom you know very well cause he arrived very late at the airport and to late to get an hotel to spend the night. With your consent you agreed for him to spend the night in your house.

Next morning you wake, have your bath and breakfast, ready to go out only to find your car key missing, you ask wifey and she says " oh honey Jide took it out, will be back soon. Dint want to disturb your sleep "

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Hug your wife and give her a pat on the back and say " no problem honey "

You go fear some analogy sha.

SO when she used the kitchen it stopped you from using it at the same time? Compared to when one takes my car out it stopped me from using it

But if I am not at home and my guest need to use my car. They can absolutely pick the keys and use it

Hosts now encourage you to come along with your int'l driving license so you can use a car for shopping and whatnots or lease a car

Some go for as low as 60$ per day(insurance inclusive)

Why should a host be driving around all day or cooking all day

And your point is

You have not made any point/ dropped your opinion; just drifting from one side to another.

Lol, glad you got my drift.

Meanwhile, why do you think the babe got up to cook that early, if their want some form of hunger-induced discomfort? Ulcer? Weakness? Coulda been anything, you know?

Per other posters, you juts need to be a good host , this is your kitchen thread, after all. tongue wink. Live and let live, sis.

You stylishly pre-asked for permission to drive the Beetle abi? Anyway, I keep the keys in the freezer cos Junior's hands can't get there. wink

Freezer ke? shocked shocked shocked shocked

Trying to be a good host/OP grin

But Bro, the babe could have said ...madam/aunty/bla, we would like to make breakfast @ 6:00am because Cassidy/I is currently on medication and would not want to inconvenience you & daddy/uncle since the Madam did tell her she is free to use her kitchen or they brought something along to eat.

Could there be any unplanned emergency that would make someone want to eat earlier than normal?

If your guest need to wait till you are around to eat or drink water in your house then you shouldnt have hosted them in the first place

Maybe if they are freezing/feeling hot at night they would also need permission to use the fan

I can't keep posting same thing over and over...

Wen you get to an unknown host's house, feel free to wake up the next morning and start cooking without asking your host or your host giving you the go ahead.

And who is dragging with you?

Or are we dragging anything?

You were tagged along somewhere and the next morning you enter kitchen and start cooking; good for you

I have the courtesy to wait till I am given the free way or host provides breakfast; good for me

So what is the problem again?

Pla.nk dropped two scenarios which I said does not apply in this case.

If you dropped your opinions or gave instances you did same as the OP, I would have taken you seriously.

Hehehe. Just kidding, he knows his boundaries wella.

Keep it up then. wink

Yeah, she should have but, she didn't. And the host should have been more graceful and if she had to insult her, do it stylishly. She has just given hubby one reason to be away from home; I would milk that situation for whatever it's worth. All I have to say is "I gotta go hang out with Cassidy, he's in town and I don't know when he'll be leaving" grin perfect alibi grin

The guestess was out of line but, the hostess was more out of line. Ori bibe ko l'ogun ori fifo. wink

From the said OP, the madam asked what she was doing in her kitchen before the lady flew off the handle and said 'she blames Cassidy that didn't lodge them in an hotel'

I honestly do not know Madam's tone.

My point on that thread was that the guest was 100% wrong; no way out of that

The madam sef was a mind reader etc etc.

Most of their scenarios are so off point. Someone talked about using the fan if you got hot. Makes no sense. If you are hot and there's a fan in the bedroom, the reasonable expectation is that you can turn it on. If you are hot, you do not start going from room to room to find a fan to use. That would be crazy. Another person talked about if someone had to eat for emergency reasons. We actually talked about that in the original post. If you are a diabetic for example, it is your responsibility to tell your host such so that arrangements could be made for you. If there is an emergency, you do what you have to do. God forbid we stick to the original scenario. The guest got up and walked into the kitchen and started preparing a meal without even having a conversation with the host about doing so. I don't care what culture you are from, that's just crazy. Stick with the topic. No one is saying that someone might be falling into a diabetic coma and we should let them die because the host is sleeping and we don't want to open the refrigerator to get some orange juice. People are just being childish

If I remember correctly, nobody sided with the guest. If anything, they flayed the hostess for being aggressive, which doesn't equate to absolving the rude guest. Just that a host has responsibilities that shouldn't be compromised wink. In fact, the crazier your guest, the saner you should be as a host. I think that was the general idea on the other thread.

Nope

Few people saw What the guest did as rude

That was one of the reasons I opened This thread.

If posters agreed the guest was rude, We could discussion What the madam did wrong and ways to handle it.

Would like to see your reaction when your guest drives your car without permission grin

Alright, then.

Assuming this guest was wifey's friend's boyfriend like you earlier posited. I'd give iyawo a piece of my mind, wait for them to get back and tell wifey to shoo them off stylishly and that'd be her last time in my house unless she apologises in a special way. grin If I'm that cool with wifey's friend, she go hear am too.
