And someone will wnt to tell me not to vote change. Whether we like it or not, Nigeria stands a better chance of progressing under GMB. This change is inevitable! It must happen! Nigerians let's get our PVC and give a APC a chance for them to show us what they can do.

Either you didn't read or you did but just playing clueless, but let's take this step by step...

It's all about money and jobs and the APC write up addressed both.

Embarking vigorously on industrialization, public works and agricultural expansion generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Diversifying the economy through a national industrial policy and innovative private-sector incentives that will move us away from over reliance on oil into value-added production especially manufacturing generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Reviving textile and other industries that have been rendered dormant because of inappropriate economic policies generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Reinvigorating the solid mineral sector by revamping our aged mining legislation and attracting new investment generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Developing a new generation of domestic oil refineries to lower import costs, enhance our energy independence and create jobs generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Working with state governments to turn the country into Africa’s food basket through a new system of grants and interest free loans, and the mechanization of agriculture generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Encouraging and promoting the use of sports as a source of job creation, entertainment and recreation generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Creating a knowledge economy by making Nigeria an IT /professional/Telecom services outsourcing destination hub to create millions of jobs generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Filling the huge gap in middle level technical manpower with massive investment in technical and tradesmen’s skills education generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Of course we have less money coming in because of the low price of crude, but please tell us what to do to arrest the situation beyound what the APC is proposing to create jobs and make us financially stable and sufficient...

Bottom line, offered the most realistic, prudent and better way forward to generate more money and create jobs.

There's no point arguing with you... They will create all these but with which money? Let me guess, BANK OF HEAVEN will open and rain down dollars and pounds on Nigeria abi? Arguing with a fellow with shallow reasoning is worse than illiteracy. I'm done with you... I strongly suggest you take the time to read Soludo's write-up, compare and contrast, come back and thank me later. No wonder he referred to APC as "Aggrieved People's Congregation".

Whao! I am proud to be a Nigerian. Just compare this with FFK's reply. The fact speaks for itself. I personally, believe that people seek solace in insult and mudslinging when they run out of logic. God bless the party that understands the concern of the nation and has the sincerity of purpose to tackle it. This piece had a therapeutic effect on me.

In the country where I reside, they don't give unemployed graduates a "stipend". This is an example; among other issues raised, I'd like for APC to address this. Like Soludo asked, when there is no new money, how will they manage this? Will the govt borrow to achieve this aim?

The stolen billions including the still missing $10 billion can do a lot. Stopping looting and stealing alone frees up funds and trimming the over bloated government and sometimes triple duplicated worthless agencies and parastatals frees up many more billions too.

We have more than enough money to manage ourselves with, we look poor today only because of corruption, looting and stealing.

Creating a knowledge economy by making Nigeria an IT /professional/Telecom services outsourcing destination hub to create millions of jobs.

Filling the huge gap in middle level technical manpower with massive investment in technical and tradesmen’s skills education
.

How do you achieve this when a section of Nigeria in the north (about 40% of the population of Nigeria) hate education with a passion and consistently score low on even the simplest national entrance exams?
How can you educate someone when they don't want to be educated, and even take up arms to double emphasize it?

The most important point raised by Soludo is that Nigeria needs fiscal federalism or nothing will ever work even if the best leader emerges.
There are those who just don't want to do what is necessary to contribute to real national economic development; those who believe that government is an industry by which they must feed or take up arms.

These APC people have not even told us their stance on oil derivation and fiscal federalism.

This response to Soludo is another proof that APC is either naturally dishonest or they are the most clueless bunch to ever emerge in the Nigerian political landscape.

Meanwhile GEJ all the way!

Money for what exactly? Do you mind stating precisely what money you need to establish sane, practical realities and polices needed to generate investments, grow the economy and create jobs?

Spewing what they can and can not do is not any kind of solution, it's nothing but hopelessness and apathy and being cynical is one thing, coming up with your own practical solutions is another which you can not do since you are too weighed and bogged down with hopelessness and pessimism...

Raise any issue against pdp and watch how they will term u a paid agent.

Will they go back now and come up with some tangible pertaining to what Prof Soludo said other than the rant of fani kayode?

More like issue based reply unlike replies from FFK and others. Nigerians still await PDP defense
Unfortunately, the anchor head for the rope of APC in the person of Gen Mohammed Buhari will not rule Nigeria again his past morally disqualifies him. Besides, he is yet to convince Nigerians that this, his inciting statements since 2007 and the born to rule mentality has nothing to do with the increased activities of terrorists who had sworn to make the country ungovernable for GEJ

God bless you. Men and women of reason with independent minds must stand up and be counted on the side of Nigeria, not on the side of GEJ/PDP or GMB/APC. The side of Nigeria is the side of change from a from a country moving fast on the path of destruction to a country turning to the path of prosperity. that is the change we earnestly yearn for.

Everyone should be demanding a restructuring of Nigeria as a TRIBAL CONFEDERATION with a very weak, stripped down central government. That way each ethnic nation minds its own business and can fail or prosper with no excuse of being held back by others. It's ironic given the much noise the Yoruba make about true Federalism and Resource control that the APC is opposed to such reforms as the PIB that are the first steps in that direction, not to talk ofthe elections are minor issue, Nigeria has more fundamental problems. However or whatever pushed some Nigerians to mount the massive Occupy Nigeria protests in Jan 2012, they should must muster such passion again, this time to mount pressure for a fundamental restructure of the Nigerian State.

Every other thing is cosmetic. Elections don't matter in a colony like Nigeria just as they don't matter in South Africa. The land of Mandela is much richer than Nigeria and Apartheid is over but the Blacks there keep getting poorer compared to the Whites and these days the police supervised by the ANC commits mass murder of Black protesters in order to protect White owned companies.

The issue is freedom! Then again we're talking about a Herd of Africans who worship Jesus and Mohammed.....they can't even grasp the concept.

Quite significantly, we know that periods of economic downturn also potentially provide opportunity to lay the foundation for real economic restructuring and development; and we can reflect on how Singapore under Premier Lee Kuan Yew and the United States of America under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt used historic moments of economic downturn in their countries to launch a period of sustained development and a new deal for their people.

Again they drag the names of great statesmen to their level with total dishonesty and cluelessness!

How can anyone ever compare the US -a nation where states have constitution, and even cities have police to Nigeria where failures drag everyone else down?
Lee Kwan Yew's singapore is one of the most educated nations in the world.
When will northern Nigerians embrace western education, or modern education, the type that makes a citizen resourceful and contributes (not just feed off) a system?

Soludo will be seething with rage now because his intentions have been completely misinterpreted.

Fayemi kayode d failure of ekiti, How come u stylishly avoided soludo's points? Ur party candidate promised to pay un-employed Nigerian youth 5k monthly, soludo quantified that and it was running in trillions. How much is our budget?

Why didn't u address that Mr failure

Furthermore, we understand Professor Soludo’s concern on the cost of implementing our various programmes, especially those relating to social welfare. The enormity of this challenge is not lost on us. We also know that sometimes, going into government is like buying a “no testing” electronic equipment. You may never know the true state of what you are buying until you get in. We want to assure Professor Soludo and other like-minded Nigerians that our policy team is looking at all the options – including the worst-case scenario of a completely empty treasury. We are however confident that by blocking avenues of wastage and corruption alone, savings could run into billions of Naira that could be deployed for productive use. Even so, we agree with Professor Soludo that savings from corruption alone will not tackle the enormous challenges we are likely to confront in government. We are however comforted by the fact that a four-year period provides opportunity for phased implementation while growing the resource base as well as changing the culture of graft while reducing the cost of governance.

General Buhari has never claimed to have the magic wand nor the answers to all of the country’s problems. His greatest assets would be his moral authority borne out of his self-sacrificing integrity, his sincerity of purpose and his patriotic zeal to return Nigeria to the path of progress and genuine development. He is committed to utilize competent and committed people of integrity wherever he may find them. This is precisely why he promised when flagging off his campaign in Port Harcourt on January 5, 2015 that if voted into power, it would be an opportunity to, in his words, “finally assemble a competent team of Nigerians to efficiently manage this country”. This is a clear sign that a meritocratic process will govern the appointment of those that would be entrusted with managing our economy and country. His stint as Head of State shows a track record of using self-sacrificing professionals in his governance team. His previous cabinet included the likes of Dr. Onaolapo Soleye, Professor Tam David-West and Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

Reviving textile and other industries that have been rendered dormant because of inappropriate economic policies generates more money and create jobs. Yes or NO = YES

Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Arch. Namadi Sambo already revived and continuing to revive the textile industry to the extent the increased number of workers received wage rise of 35% in the past four years as confirmed by NLC =>

Aremu who is the Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress ( NLC) said for about three months now, 22 state governors are delaying or refusing to pay salaries but paid the delegates during the just concluded primary elections across the states.

“We see that delay in payment of salaries as wage theft, wage robbery. It is actually an economic crime because Nigeria labour law says thou shall pay the worker as at when due. In fact by 22nd of every month you must have pay the workers fully.

“We never heard of any delegate being owed a single penny during the primary elections, but they cannot get money to pay the workers. In fact, some of the delegates even bought new cars and properties after the primaries because they money they got in just few days is much more than what workers earn in many months.

The governors should go to the place they got they money to pay delegates and settle the workers’ salaries ,” he said.

He also said the NUTGTWN has succeeded in negotiating a 15% increase in wages for its members, making it a 35% increase in the last four years.

“This shows that the process of collecting bargaining is working in the private sector and we will like to recommend this process for the public sector because most of their crisis is on the increase of wages and salaries which has been causing endless strikes and unfavourable industrial actions,” he added.

Let us see more details about the textile REVIVAL miracle that the daft & dumb old pensioner is not aware of even though it is happening at his Kaduna base.

Nigeria’s Textile Industry on a Rebound?
28 May 2013

Crusoe Osagie looks at the textile industry since the 1980s and states that from a near-comatose state between 2000 and 2007, the sector may slowly be returning to consciousness

For the textile industry in Nigeria, it has been a shade of tales. From a boom to a collapse and now glimmers of hope appear again in the textile horizon.

In the mid-1980s, functional textile mills in the country numbered around 180. Employing about a million people, it accounted for over 60 per cent of the textile industry capacity in West Africa, empowering million of households across all geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
The story soon changed and the sector took a massive dive into an industrial abyss. At a point during the crisis in the sector, from about 180 thriving textile companies, the number came down to almost zero, with textile giants like United Nigerian Textile Company bowing to the pressure imposed by a profoundly mean operating environment.

The Obasanjo administration came, made promises to resuscitate the sector, but all the promises to the near comatose sector, including a commitment to bail out the sector with N70 billion at that time, ended up as mere charade and political statements.

Turnaround Phase

However, since Olusegun Aganga took over as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, there has been a rebound in the sector. If a stakeholder is asked the question: “Has the sector arrived finally at the former position of pride and glory?” The answer will be an emphatic no. But it cannot be denied that a steady ascension has become noticeable in the sector.

In 2009, the number of functional textile mills in the country had risen to 25. Although they were not producing at maximum capacity, their production lines were turning again and people were returning to work.
Data from the Manufacturers’ Association (MAN) showed that capacity utilisation in the surviving mills stood at 29.14 per cent in 2010 and 49.70 per cent in 2011.
The textile sector, which is a major contributor to the overall increase in industrial capacity utilisation, had its capacity utilisation rise to 52 per cent due largely to the Cotton and Textile loan, which was disbursed to more than 50 textile companies at six per cent interest rate.

The recent initiative by the Trade and Investment Ministry to enhance the revival of the textile industry through reinvestment of a 20 per cent levy on imported textile is another major step taken to reposition the industry on the path of sustainable growth.
Minister Aganga said the idea behind the levy is to promote the development of the textile sector, as boosting local production is the major objective of the ministry.
“We must diversify our economy by industrialising our country, and one of the areas we are focusing on within the next four years is the development of the textile sector as part of our industrialisation plan,” he added.
