so he can afford to pay taxes on his residential apartment but cant pay for taxes owed by his firm?
most of u are just too myopic.

He should supply the clearance Na. It is not that difficult.

And please why is the date January 30? Answer oooo

Tinubu is not running for governor is he? This is likened to a thief who was caught stealing and is accusing the police of not catching others. But why did he steal in the first place?

Did your brain miss the part where he said he has left the company since 2006 and the government has record of this?

So any issue of evading tax would be for his personal residence and that has been squashed also
Why is the date January 30? undecided

Obviously, Fashola with his utterances these few months has shown that he is not in any way an intelligent man.

Jimi has now provided not only evidence of tax payment but an appreciation letter singling him for his prompt payments.

That aside, a delay in tax payments is not the same thing as tax evasion.

Common and stop been stewpid. The letter above actually covered Jimi's residence and not Jaykay pharmacy which is the bone of contention here. The two are on separate lands and he is required to pay for them separately but he refused to pay for the year 2011,2012, and 2013 only for him to pay for 2014 leaving the backlog unpaid and you call that a delay?

That is evidence for his house not the pharmacy. Governments don't send company related matters to private homes. He should provide one for his own house.

And please why is the date 30, January 2015? The letter was written tomorrow?

Is jaykay pharmacy not a private limited company with a board of directors?

Jimi stated that he resigned from his position since 2006. The current management should be the ones to ask.
Knowing the kind of aggressive tax collectors the Lagos state government employs, there is no way that Jaykay will not have paid taxes over the years. If you own, manage or work in any company in Lagos you will know this is imoosible to avoid.

On the property, delayed payments of property tax is not the same thing as tax evasion.

As for the date on the letter of appreciation it might have been an error from the same office that issued it at least it has a refrence number and duly signed and can be authenticated through the issuing office.

If this is for the company, it will be addressed to the company and their address will be there. They should bring the one for the company out.

Stop the deceit, we are not biting!!!
Beside that, Fashola said that the four years Agbaje failed to pay were 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, not 2013 and 2014 that Agbaje now boasts that he paid.

Go and review your elementary economics or business studies and try to understand what a limited liability company means.

Jimi has since retired from the day to day activities of Jaykay pharmacy which he has duly informed the Lagos state finance commissioner.

For whatever reason that the current Jaykay management can not pay its property tax only the current management can give an explanation and be held responsible.

Delayed payment for a long period of time is evasion dude.

What companies do if to owe for a long time and then pay for some time which the company has been said to do then look away from the rest.

Mr. Agbaje is still a major shareholder in the company and gets a report of the company's finances. Companies do this to cut corners when distressed or the directors are trying to lie. Good this company won't get away with it.

If Mr. Agbaje is not trying to hide anything, why is he trying to defend this with the land use tax clearance of his residence?

And how come he did not return the certificate when he saw the date error? Note that he said that was sent "days ago"

Agbaje trying to divert attention from the main issue but ends up giving us a mystery. If he is unable to pay attention to simple details like date on a letter, how will he govern a complex state like Lagos?

The Governor misfired with his public utterance on Agbaje's company not paying tax. However, Agbaje's response would have been kept within the sentence that he is no longer a Director of the company instead of diverting the subject to himself. Moreso, he must still be a key shareholder in the firm, hence the Gov is not far from the truth.. The supposed letter looks forged.

Forget the date.

The letter has a refrence number, address of origin and duly signed by the commissioner for finance.

The date can be an error from the same office which may have been overlooked by the recipient and the author at the Time of issuance.

Jimi is not daft as to forge a govt document with stamp and signature of a commissioner and then display it to the public.

Anybody this daft to forge a govt document will not display it to the public because it can easily be verified from the records office.

Tax evasion is a deliberate attempt to conceal earnings that ought to be taxed.

In the case of property tax, the law does not specify a time limit unlike in corporate earnings which require that a company duly file a financial breakdown of activities at least every year ending and that a tax clearance be gotten for each year ending from the respective state's federal inland revenue service.

I just realised you all don't read things posted in full, what part of "I left the company since 2006" don't you understand . He is no longer at Jay kay pharmacy, yes he founded it with people and is no longer in their board of directors. And he also challenged fashion to go find out at cac or where ever he wants to.

This is how we blindly plunge into arguments we know nothing about. Please read before you spit.

Governments don't send feedbacks about a company to the house of the owners. They address and send it to the company directly.

This is for his private residence. Mr. Agbaje should not try to lie
And in your mind, it is JayKay Pharmaceutical that is contesting for the governorship seat? Read Agbaje's response again. As a private person, he has paid his taxes and was commended for it.

Does he get an annual report as the largest shareholder?

Someone who wants to be governor of a state with strict tax laws should also make sure that it starts with a company that adds to his finances and he is the majority holder.

This pharmacy has just 25 workers and one office ooo. How hard can it be for Mr. Agbaje to go through the books? Is this how he will leave the work to the commissioners when governor? (thank God he wont win sef)
