The data also showed that GEJ period has the best corruption perception index since 1979. This is in complete contrast to what the opposition including Obasanjo, has been saying in the media about corruption during the last 5 years,

Shockingly, according to the TI data, Obasanjo's first tenure had the worst corruption during the 35 year period.

All these corruption saga is deluded strategy to discredit this administration.

Am not of the opinion that GEJ's administration is devoid of corruption but the way they the opposition are painting the whole scenario seems as if there is no existence of corruption b4 the inception of the present administration and also as if BUHARI emerge as a President today, corruption will magically seize to exist.

It is impossible for corruption to instantly seize as far as it had already been ingrained in us and also we have more than one Institution to fight the menace (the arms of govt).

It takes time to strengthen the Institutions and block the loopholes to stealing

At the risk of being unpatriotic my take is Nigeria is the most corrupt country in the world today. The issue is that the graph drawn up/plotted by the OP is NOT CREDIBLE. Where was the data for the pre-2001 years drawn up. TI site started concise and well reported analysis from 2001. You cannot draw up a silly graph with the current/2014 TI figures for Nigeria and extrapolate FALSELY down the years to make the other administrations look worse and make GEJ look like some Robin Hood!

TI currently says that 72%... A whooping 72% of Nigerians believe this administration is very corrupt! There is NO DATA for the other 70s 80s and 90s... While TI is big enough to source data from those years, there is no published stuff on their website backing up the hogwash graph!!!
