"...but let me assure Nigerian youths that we are going to create jobs, we are going to create UNEMPLOYMENT..." - GEJ (PhD), 2015

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6ilahypAhI

A picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth more than a thousand pictures. You can't really blame GEJ, after all in his own words he promised to create UNEMPLOYMENT.

During objs time was there crisis in the north? Companies had branches over there and people worked there! Now with the crisis over there ask yourself how many companies are still operating there? The few that open would you work there? Mass migration to the crisis free region has put a strain on the employment ratio. Don't forget the economic melt down sweeping around the world now.

Gej has a lot on his hands now than Baba had during his time.

Finally quit waiting for the gov't to give you job create one for yourselves! >sad

So, government should be the one to create jobs for ALL of you. You can't create jobs for yourself and others. Continue waiting. F.O.O.L.S.

[quote author=timawoku
post=30798635]OP obj's regime was poor in employment but the little that
was, was real and there was confidence that if there was a federal govt
job opening, it was real and people were recruited accordingly.

Unlike GEJ

*Immigration recruitment resulted to death of candidates, thousands paid
1k and no job

*federal task force recruitment, thousands applied with varied sums of
money and yet no job

*SURE P program that no one is yet to benefit from

*customs recruitment with huge allocation to the south south (especially
okrika)

Etc.

With GEJ it should not be called unemployment again, it should be called
'insult to unemployed',

u c those payment we pay, they are using it to sult them self,
that is y we need changes,

Thief Obasanjo who is the originator of all the challenges we face today, is positioning himself to head an interim government after elections are eventually cancelled.

So do not deceive yourself that he is not working with GEJ in disenfranchising Nigerians.

Make the mistake of allowing Thief Obasanjo's return as Interim president then you might as well be signing your death warrant

Have GEJ's stealing agencies returned more than N500 million collected from NIS applicants and others?
Were the bereaved families of those who died at the interviews compensated?
Did GEJ even send condolence messages to their families?

The railway project of Lagos State government has already gainfully employed over 5, 000 people so far.
Eko Atlantic City has employed more than 5, 000 people so far.

The number of direct and indirect jobs created through the boom in the telecommunications industry alone under OBJ is enough to close this thread.

Then we also remember the boom in the banking industry, there was never a weekend we wouldn't run out with our CVs in envelops to gatecrash banking aptitude tests. In all, the banks were recruiting massively during OBJ's regime.

Nigeria for the first time had a 'middle class' during OBJ's reign. It would be an unfair disservice to Jonathan and an insult to OBJ to compare both regimes in terms of employment.

Considering the huge increase in number of graduates now and the fact OBJ took over from a military regime, the need to hire staff was higher then.

Then came the world economic crisis just as OBJ left power. Then came the banking sector crisis in Nigeria with thousands sacked.

The room to create jobs has been far less in GEJ's time. The sectors creating jobs like Agric is not popular with many graduates.
GEJ has not done bad at all.

Hummmmm it is well let's just keep praying for our Jerusalem Nigeria. For I no one day unemployment will be a thing of the past.

I hate it when people talk about prayers in virtually everything. This is a physical thing that should be tackled physically and not spiritually. Prayers prayers prayers since 1205 AD yet Nigeria hasn't changed.

Back then guyz were getting good jobz In banks, but banking which. Is the highest employer in. The private sector is now a slave master, playing with. Our graduates with 50-70k and there. Is still struggle for such jobz. And the bankz keep making billionz of Naira as profit. Please go through financials of this big. Banks you just see how much they are milking the labour force.
Be real bros, when Soludo was the CBN governor, he opened up banks and banks are opening branches in all places but the moment Sanusi came he changed the policy, closed branches, collected banks from Southern CEOs (Akingbola, Ibru etc) merged banks and sold the banks to the same people in APC today e.g Bukola Saraki. Many of us complained and some of you who could not see beyond the temporary benefits them applauded Sanusi.

There's no basis for comparison between both of them. OBJ was a former head of state so he knew what was on ground before becoming president. GEJ, on the other hand, luckily got to the top. Experience matters a lot, bro. Later, you'll start complaining when companies request for years of experience for graduate trainee roles. Next time when companies do that, just remember OBJ and GEJ. tongue
Genius.

Fellow nairaland I have been thinking lately over all this employment FG is saying they are creating, but when I look back @ OBJ regime, I must say graduates around me even though I was just in secondary school were getting jobs, Telecoms,Banking, oil and Gas industry, public sector(FCSC, IFRS) really developed which. Created Jobs for guyz then, most of them are big boyz now that am now a graduate. It is now a tragedy that even private sector now experience all sort of bribe to get a job because of few good jobs around. Please which sector has developed and creating jobs for common Nigerians now under GEJ?

I see some ill-informed goons are trying to defend GEJ by stating economic meltdown (whatever that means). I will like to quickly remind them that GEJ has way more resources than OBJ. OBJ was serious about Nigeria. GEJ is a joker with a bag of excuses.

I think you should also consider the number of businesses the Corporate Affairs Commission has registered over the past 4 years.

By "job" do you mean those who wear suit and resume office 7 am? or those engaging in profitable and legal ventures?

Take a trip to CAC office at Ikeja and you will be amazed at the rate at which Nigerians troop in to get their businesses registered.

I won't stop insulting Nigerians because our level of reasoning is sooo low.

How can a normal human being examine job creation in the context of Immigration and UBA job? Are you guys really du.m b or you just choose to be du. mb on special threads against GEJ?

Do you know the number of graduates who now own their private schools? farms? e-businesses? where was nairaland 6 years ago and where is Nairaland today? who are those paying for the massive adverts on Nairaland today? What are they advertising? Poo?

Why not take statistics from CAC, FRSC? Why don't you analyse the rate at which youths get legal wealth, build houses, buy cars these days?

The world has moved away from the era of Civil Service/Servant most of you are advocating. This is the same evil your past military governments planted in your fore heads & corrupt eyes such that your eyes now view JOB creation ONLY in the context of SHELL, NNPC & CBN - that can barely take 100 employees (all together) in a whole year.

By the way, who says Govt aren't recruiting? The army Is currently recruiting graduates; go and get a form and stop perpetrating propaganda on the Internet. Some of us are not blind. We are aware of the fact that Dangote has recruited thousands of graduates over the past few years. We can see new lecturers In the new institutions, etc.

No government is perfect; none can do all; no one!
