Guy, not just tell he mum, not on phone, if she is close by, take out time to meet with her mum especially when the mum is ur sister.

Talk to her about parenting cos ur parent age difference might not be too good to impact knowledge on her, he mum should know her soft spot and how to win her emotionally.

He mum should ask her questions on a good day, maybe u both can take her out, after she enjoyed her self, talk to her and give her good knowledge.
