Had similar experience in benin But unfortunately uptill now, my TVC, 2 ATM cards, company ID card, driving license and 7k have gone with d wallet.

Even though I put my name and phone number on a paper inside d wallet, kept praying d person that picked it would call. All hopes dashed.

I know d Guy sitting next to me would pick it cos He looked toutish and restless.

.My mistake was keeping it on my legs after bringing out money to pay d driver, I just alighted forgetting I had my wallet on my laps.

Quickly jumped into another taxi when I touched my back pocket and it was flat, But couldn't locate d exact one I entered cos all taxis in benin are Audi with same brown n yellow colour.

I gave up after jumping to d opposite lane and continued flagging and asking if any of them saw d wallet in question only for them to sigh and zoom off after noticing I wasn't flagging them to enter.

I got home, called d bank customer service to block d 2 cards, next day I went to police station to lay complaint, got an affidavit.

U are lucky bro

People of Calabar/Akwa Ibom are the last people that would steal from you,tho not all,but majority of em people are good...

If it were my igbo brothers, the money would have been gone & still would call you to come pay for those documents you have in it grin

Have you gone naughts? What makes you think everyone of the Eastern extraction is a thief by default?
We still have very honest people, even amidst the Igbos. Take note of this.

Nigerians are good people, those of us born in the 70s saw a nation with people of character & integrity..I don't know how we got to this rotten state.

Meanwhile, a big thanks to the taxi driver,10k is not much but it will certainly solve an issue for him if he was a questionable character..These are the kind of people that can lead me back to the house of God (Church) and not the wolves in sheep clothing's Christians parading themselves in all nook & crannies.

just stating the obvious & tryna be plain
I get your view, anyone can steal not just igbos.

Am Akwa ibomite but Didn't feel so good reading that. I'll prefer lets focus on the topic.

You don't know how many foreigners are reading this post, they may start believing igbos are thieves.
This is how Nigeria got her bad image. When we always wash our linens in public.

Something good just happened, lets celebrate and magnify that one.

Two days ago, in Port Harcourt, I took a taxi from Garrison to Abuloma, On getting to my destination at Okilo Road, I was theblast person to come down from the vehicle of 5passengers. Unknown to me, my wallet was Misplaced.

For emphasis, the content of the wallet are as follows:
New Drivers Liescence
3bank ATM cards
N10,000
My PVC
And copies of my passport.

I was saying to myself after it was discovered missing, that "this is Nigeria I can never find it. I even tried going to the park at which I boarded. But no success was recodered. I regret not deriving that day.

This evening, I got a call from the bank, that a lady brought my atm to the bank, and requested the bank (fidelity) should contact me, for misplaced items. I was marveled.
And so the bank gave me the numbers of the driver and his lovely wife.
Joy entered my spirit.

Note: this man and his wife live in a Bacha. I took a pic of this man to make u Nairalanders bless his generation. His name is Elisha Ukpong.
He was even so delighted I split the money in 2.
MODS I beg you front page so anigerians van learn to be good.
God bless you Mr Elisha.... these are the kind of news I wanna hear. not the news of a woman seeing 12 million naira in murtala Mohammed airport toilet. God bless u again Mr Elisha.

you're very right!
AKS people don't have time to steal.
I served in Uyo, there was this time they were working the roads in my Estate.

I had to park so far from home, then trek to my house. The first time, I was so scared, as I was approaching the car in the morning- I was expecting to see broken glass...lol

My neighbour told me, "AKS people don't steal -they are happy...Akwaibom ayaya"....hahahahaha

If say na my igbo brothers, them for done move all the cars wey align for that street.

I am happy for you and may God bless this man.

Now, an advice to you: drop your PVC at home, why are you carrying it about?

Don't you have an Id? If you must go with your PVC, make a photocopy, print and laminate it..then go about with the duplicate.

A word is enough... Remember that the stress in getting a replacement is more than that of driver's license and international passport combined.
