The ONLY point is that out of shame, their advance was stalled.

They ALREADY entered Nigeria multiple times and liberated Nigerian towns. There's no such thing as an almost-Nigerian town.

Hey fool,

Chad and Niger have been operating in Nigeria since 1994. There's nothing new in task force members operating in each other's border region.

Chadian troops have been operating in the MNJTF AOR. Malamfotori, dikwa and gambarou are well within the areas of responsibility.

Nigerian and chadian forces operated in gambarou and dikwa. I don't know where the fuss is all coming from.

Nigerian troops have and still continue to carry out over 90% of the operations in this task force.

And therefore?

Your point is?

That Chad did not liberate Nigerian towns?

Cause liberate Nigerian towns they did.

The shame is in that. Not in your besides-the-point task force arrangenent.

Nigerian troops have and still continue to carry out over 30% of the operations in this task force. FACT… FACT…FACT… Nigerian forces failed to hold onto Baga military base immediately when foreign forces pulled out and left it alone. It failed to carry out its imaginary 90% of the task and instead they have shown us the fastest way a soldier can run in an Olympic competition and lost the town to BH. They only managed to recover it in the presence of other foreign forces particularly Chad. FACT…FACT…FACT…

In fact, Nigeria would have loved to liberate Dikwa themselves as well. But they weren't able to. Chad did. The closest Nigeria got to Dikwa (in their own country) was 50 Kilometres.

Shameful are the Nigerians. Shameful.

Failure has nothing to do with the capabilities of the weapons platform, but the marketing and offer side of things.

Just look at the French right now in India regarding the Rafael deal.

Foreign components reduce the cost of development. You design something and to cut costs you contract foreign countries to supply certain systems.

But if those suppliers feel you're breaking the current contract they have with you, they'll threaten pulling out of the contract.

This comment proves you know nothing about the Rafale deal.

The Indians want to build 90 Rafale fighter jets in indian, but they want the french to bear responsibility for any flaw it might have.

The french also want the Indians to pay separately for the components to be shipped to india.

From the indian example, foreign components do not bring down costs. Licenced production of military equipment do not reduce costs, they only provide skill transfer.

Here's the point the French are having a tough time to negotiate the sell of the Rafales to India, that doesn't mean the Rafale is not capable fighter.

Foreign components reduce costs. Off-the-shelf components are more than.

R & D then industrialisation to production.

No SIPRI says the deal for the aquisition of 236 has been confirmed and paid for - not that it is conpleted

It says deliveries start in 2015 (this year) and end in 2022 (cant remeber exact date)

and the use of "including 222" is actually present continous and not past tense - which you would know if you had an education

So the entire basis of you argument is flawed

If you are delusional enough to argue with SIPRI then that is your problem not mine, Badger aquisition is now indisputable

Nope, dummy !

SIPRI did not say you paid for all Badger IFVs, SIPRI only quoted paper value of contract, and they do it for all arms sales that have paper value published. SIPRI is not a financial monitor, they are arms transfer monitor, they don't know and don't care if you pay for weapons, all they care about is that weapons were transfered.

SIPRI lacks accurate data, they say SANDF has ORDERED 238 Badgers, they did NOT say you paid for 238.

South Africa ordered A400M Airbus from France and NEVER paid in full, only part payment, and still NEVER got a single aircraft, contract was cancelled.

SANDF has ONLY 6 Badger IFVs, when you get one more unit, we will be adding it up to know how much you paid for. Money, not paper document, is what buys you weapons, money, cash, not your empty talkative mouth !

SANDF = 6 Badger IFVs paid for.

The French are having a tough time selling Rafales to india because of disagreements on cost and culpability.

Foreign components are an add on cost, as a local production for a foreign equipment would cost more than buying outrightly of the shelf.

South Africa has NO Badger production facility.

All current 6 Badgers manufactured in Finland exported to South Africa

The next 31 Badgers will still be made in Finland and exported to Southies

The total contract to the consortium is R 8.3 billion. An initial R 1.048 billion order was placed in 2007 to develop a prototype of each variant, followed by 12 pre-production vehicles. During the manufacturing phase, the first 37 production vehicles will be built by Patria in Finland, then the other 227 will be produced in South Africa.

grin grin grin At this rate I'll end up calling you a m...........

Hurdles selling the aircraft have nothing to do with its capabilities, the Rafale is highly capable plane. Armscor and Denel problems selling the Rooivalk have nothing to do with the helicopter's capabilities.

Here's simple analogy: Nigeria is developing an anti-ship missile, to cut costs of research and development of the missile's active radar homing seeker. Nigeria decides to use an Egyptian developed seeker.

In this case if Nigeria insisted on using an indigenous, it would've met long R & D, tests, industrialisation, production etc

IT IS USED AS A POLITICAL AGENDA AND A CASH COW TO EXTRACT MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT. WHY DID THEY STOP CHAD FROM FLUSHING OUT TERRORISTS IN NIGERIA?

THERE ARE ELEMENTS WITHIN THE CABINET OF JONATHAN WHO ARE IN SUPPORT OF BOKO HARAM AND WHO KNOW WELL THAT NIGERIAN MILITARY IS JUST A LIMPING GIANT THAT CANT DEFEAT BOKO HARAM. NOW, THEY WERE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT HOW CHAD WAS SUCCEEDING IN DEMOLISHING THEIR ONLY HOPE TO GRAB ONTO POWER. SOMETHING NEEDED TO BE DONE AND THAT WAS TO STOP CHAD. THOSE WHO MADE THAT DECISION MUST BE INVESTIGATED. THE REAL LEADER OF BOKO HARAM IS WITHIN THE CABINET AND MUST COME OUT, PRES IDRISS HAS ORDERED.
