So you want APC to abandon those that laboured with them for a newbie in the party and a defector all because you want APC to compensate your people's irrational and self inflicted political suicide ?

It will never happen! If you guys really want the senate Presidency then you should ask Ngige's opponent to resign and back out for the sake of the generality of the Ibo nation and the position will be yours.

Some PDP lawmakers today in the East could have been sympathetic to the APC but because of the difficult political terrain that they operated in, which was hostile to the APC, had to go with the PDP.

The division has deepen more than you bargained for the moment your people refused to CHANGE...look at it, no single senator from the south east from APC...or are you saying the minority should e placed over the majority since the APC is now in the majority at the senate...would PDP have allowed that to happen?

It can be zoned to the region while it works it out!

A look at the looming political landscape of Nigeria will reveal the side lining of one of three major ethnic groups unless something drastic is immediately done to rectify it.
Since the first two political positions are occupied by an Hausa - Fulani and Yoruba as President and vice respectively, it would be in the interest of national unity and inclusiveness to allocate the third most powerful position, Senate President, to the third leg of the tripod, the Igbo.
Granted that the Eastern states overwhelming voted for the PDP and thus ensured that all the lawmakers in the Upper House of the National Assembly are all PDP legislators, the APC has a chance ,before the commencement of the new Assembly, to Nick a few present PDP elected lawmakers to the APC. Any of this lawmakers, preferably from Imo State, should forthwith be made the senate president.

I don't expect igbos to come up and begin to make issues as though Nigeria is about them, they are fond of ranting as ever. Since they have made the choice of where they belong, they don't want to have anything to do with Hausas and the Yorubas, I see no reason why they should be involved in the governance of the new administration, after all during Jonathan, the Yorubas were excluded and they took it in good fate. They should be satisfied with the ministerial position GMB with give to them. Beside the notion that igbos are third major leg in Nigeria is not correct as the last presidential election has helped to reveal that igbos has the least political value in Nigeria. We have six political region in Nigeria namely; NE,NW,NC,SW,SS,SE. Of all these six regions, the electoral scores from the South East was the least, it was so low that scores from just three states from the SS is even much more than that of the whole SE. So on the bases, igbos should just accept that they are the least significant region in Nigeria and they should stop boasting and making noise everywhere.

Lesson learnt they still won't listen, so what's the point ? All apc hustle should now goes to igbos with that vital position ? With all they embezzle from gej can't they take their time to build a strong political leader ? I don't think that's possible for now nigeria is still in the league to find out who really love her

Typing..

You may had wondered why the IGBOS are too resilient in their plight to be wealthy but never resilient in their unity as one. They only unite in the face of oppression but when it comes to personal desires, they fight and kill each other. The Uba brothers fought themselves during OBJ's regime for the governorship of Anambra, no elder, or royalty waded into their fight, rather they took sides.

Peter Obi dominated APGA for a very long time, APGA being the only concentrated IGBO party couldnt even get majority vote of any SENATORIAL SEAT or HOUSE OF REPS, lets excuse DELTA STATE because they claim not to be refered to as IGBO. Rochas and Peter Obi fell apart when ones ambition was not in line with the other. So Rochas moved to APC to see if he could realise his dreams. Eventually Peter Obi left APGA to PDP.

It is only fo.o.Ls (Igbos) that would forget history and try to use the present situation to steal some points. In Imo state the PDP has ruled and stolen money that Imo state was never developed. They said Imo state does not have money. But today we see changes being done there. why would they want PDP to come and rule.

If you love development, if you feel you deserve development as an IGBO person. If you feel the money meant to build your state is being stolen by certain group of people who would deceive you they have your interest at heart. Its better you stand up and tell your igbo clans that enough is enough. That you all no longer want to be treated as foo.L's.

For this to be actualize you all need to forget the hatred of the 1967-69 Civil war by General Gowon and start thinking towards the future, start thinking about accepting and mixing up with other tribes.

I hope you all have realised from the recent held election that the Igbo is irrelevant in Nigerian Politics of today. You all can't do it alone.

A word they say is enough for the wise.

I rest my case.

Ymodulus

They will never listen

Their obstinacy is their everlasting bane

When Tinubu saw the chance in aligning with another major ethnic group the North........he was derided, villified and harangued by political infants

But i kept pointing out on this thread that Tinubu's strategy is a major master-stroke which developed out of careful studying of the few mistakes Pa Awolowo made and improving on it( Pa Awo felt he could rally the Minority groups with the SW and win elections but it never came to be because the SE through Zik had always aligned with the North that their children now hate and insult)

And that was why Pa Awolowo never became the President

It is the same mistake that present day Igbos and their leaders are doing.........The mistake is that

There is no way 1 majority tribe(SE) which is in alliance with a minority tribe(SS) can ever beat 2 majority tribe(SW and North)

The bigot Igbos were deceived into believing that NC or Middle Belterns will join them blindly into an alliance their elders would have told them can not work or would backfire.....hence 4 states out of NC voted alogside their Majority tribesmen while 2 barely voted for PDP

Glad to know you're from Edo State. The biggest loser in this contest is Senator Domingo Obende representing Edo North. When he sought re-election, Oshiomole betrayed him. He has been a Senator since 2011 and I've been projecting him for the Senate Presidency before the Primaries. If Oshiomole had allowed him to win the Primaries, he would have been the only APC Senator from the two regions, ie, SE/SS because the APC Candidate, Francis Alimikhena won the Election here. But being a 1st term Senator, he wouldn't have the legislative experience to seek for the Office of the President of the Senate or other Principal Positions. Oshiomole's selfish interest beclouded his sense of reasoning... He knows APC would win the Presidency and if Domingo should win, he might be made the President of the Senate or other Principal Officer, as such, Oshiomole wouldn't be able to get the Senate Ticket come 2019!!

Domingo Alaba Obende will get his due for staying in APC despite not being allowed to pick the ticket back to the Senate

I for one needs Oshiomhole's sagacity and erudism in the Senate come 2019

It would be a political miscalculation on the part of the APC if they let this opportunity pass by them and there is no where in any other the major party's constitution zoning the Senate Presidency solely to Benue State.
I am Edo and a Buharist.

Am Igbo but don't support the Senate President going to Igbos. I was expecting Chris Ngige to occupy the position had he won. There are other areas to compensate the SE. Let change begin.

When the camera was moved to his position immediately Buhari commended the Jagaban himself, Tinubu; Bisi Akande and John Oyegun, I saw Domingo laughing hard.

He supported Buhari very well even his twitter handle can testify to that. What's bothering me now is that he didn't support the APC House of Reps Candidate for Akoko Edo Federal Constituency that much because he felt the guy betrayed him during the Primaries + he didn't do any tangible thing in Domingo's town (Igarra) coupled with the fact that the guy that contested against him is from Igarra. I don't know if he would be considered for any Ministerial Slot after doing this.

I believe if he plays his game well, he might get it through Atiku and Tinubu's influence. But if he depends on Oshiomole for that, he might not get it!

The Senate President must go to a member of APC

It must go to long standing member of the Senate not a newbie

So who fits this criteria in the SE?

The political intrigue(s) that led to Domingo Obende losing out of the Edo North Senatorial candidacy under the APC is yet untold. Rumour have it that he did nothing to improve the lot of the people while at the senate and that Oshiomole wanted an Etsako as senator this time around.
The Binis also committed political harakiri by voting for the PDP in the Edo South Senatorial District. The chance of Samson Osagie being a principal officer of the Senate has been lost.

The Igbos have every right to allign themselves with whoever they like, its all political evolution.
The problem with Igbo is that there is no visionary leader, those who voted did not even expect this outcome, Nigerians are the winners APC will definately solve this riddle no one will be left out.

What will senate president benefit a tribe that produced it. Is Benue better than Ekiti, Eboney, Osun or any other state in Nigeria by virtue of producing the senete president for the past 8 years? If not for bragging right I see no need unless the president is not the nigerian president rather president of a particular area.

[size=15pt]I don't think Igbo should accept anything from APC. Buhari as a person does not seem to have any anti-igbo agenda. But the key actors around him in APC do.

APC always plotted to exclude Igbo, so let them have their wish. Let them marginalize Igbo as much as their strength will allow them. It's all good for building opposition and instability of the APC goment.

This issue is a very serious issue,For those people here saying that Igbo man should not be Senate president remember we have a principle of federal character in place in Nigeria. I am a benin man,I strongly believe that it will be for the greater good of the unity of Nigeria that an Igbo man MUST BE MADE THE SENATE PRESIDENT.
