Dear Jimi Agbaje,
I wish to use this channel to make this specifically clear. As an Igboman who had spent a good number of years in Lagos, I am very uncomfortable with all your gimmick in this electoral season.

It is important you take full cognizance that the contest between you and Dr. Ambode of the APC is for the post of the Executive Governor of Lagos State and not for any other State located elsewhere. Therefore I frown at your divisive campaign strategy of pitching law-abiding non-indigenous residents in the State against the rest of the good people of Lagos.

If anything, the outcome of the just concluded Presidential Election that saw the kicking out of a seating President who hinged his campaign on such divisive antics, should serve as a lesson for you. But most especially, I frown at your latest plot of making your support-base primarily an Igbo Agenda. It will interest you to know that I have no problem with any individual voting for you, but you colluding with Ifeanyi Uba, OPC and TAN to exploit and undermine the peaceful co-existence between Ndigbo and their Host Community for your personal agenda is totally unacceptable. This good relationship you see today, took generations to build - therefore we cannot keep silence and watch you tear it down.

Keep your campaign open to all and desist from sowing the seed of division. And we have not forgotten how you promised to collude with Militants in Niger Delta to sabotage the economy if Jonathan lose: https://www.nairaland.com/2081104/ss-youth-shut-down-economy - At least now if there is any crisis in the creek, we know who to bring in for details about the plan to sabotage the economy of Nigeria.

I wish you well and also look forward to hear you called Ambode once the votes are counted this weekend just like President Jonathan did.

Regards,
EGIFT

You're very ignorant. How is Agbaje's candidacy an "Igbo agenda"? The Igbo people in Lagos as a voting bloc express clear preference for Agbaje BECAUSE of their unpleasant experience in the hands of the outgoing APC government in Lagos, how is that Jimi Agbaje's fault? Is Agbaje an Igbo man?

Since Agbaje has declared that his government will treat all persons living in Lagos equally and will not witch-hunt or maltreat certain groups, is that not enough to endear him to the cosmopolitan people of Lagos which comprises virtually every ethnic group in Nigeria? What then is the point of this foolish thread?

That right there will be his undoing. Not to mention that he's putting the igbos on the spot for all the wrong reasons.

Some of you people are too daft for words to describe.

Even if every single igbo resident in Lagos with a voters card votes for him he will still lose to Ambode. Truth is he shouldn't have come out acting as though they are enough to get him into Alausa, going as far as begging them not to go to the east for Easter. Such insensitivity and lack of tact is enough to rub off wrongly on other Lagosians.

The last presidential elections has shown that ss/se votes alone are inadequate to win important elections in Nigeria.

You are right, honestly I don't like this type of campaign. During the presidential election they made the campaign Igbo thing and people now see them as enemy of this incoming government, I wish igbo should have kept their support for Agbaje silent and express themselves during voting but as it stands now Igbo leaders have directed all their arsenals toward Agbaje at least in public, any result now will still be anti Igbo because if Agbaje wins people will think igbos sabotaged them and if Ambode wins it will still looks like they did not support him and few political post they got under APC will vanish.

I think it is right time they learn to spread their wings politically, their arsenal should be spread out along all political parties.

If people are unhappy with APC, it should be the Nigerians in Lagos against APC. Agaje and his sponsors should not be running their mouth that it is Ndigbo against APC.

Also Agbaje's campaign to Ndigbo and other non-indigenous residents should be what he is going to do for Lagosians and not pitching them against their host.

The divisive approach will not work. And after this weekend when Agbaje is rejected, he will leave behind sore feelings. If he has any plan he should be campaigning on it and leave clannish agenda. Afterall he claim to be more Lagos than everyone else.

Agbaje is Yoruba likewise Ambode.

Yorubas, Igbos, Hausas, and other tribes have equal rights to vote for either of the candidates.

I don't really understand the point of this thread if not to promote tribalism.

op God bless you for this... Jimi has made the governorship election in lagos state a yoruba vs igbo thing. He said the lagos state government has imposed heavy taxes on igbos lands and businesses as if yoruba business and land owners don't also pay such taxes.

Jimi agbaje divisive campaign will be his undoing. His campaign strategy is;

divide the yorubas in lagos and clinch all the igbo votes. Is rather very unfortunate that jimi has to thread this disgusting path in other to achieve his political ambition

The reason for this thread is that instead of Agbaje to canvas for votes from every Lagosian, he is busy pitch non-indegens against their host. Do you know he even asked my people not to go home for Easter so they can vote for him. Also he campaign with the name of the people of Niger Delta, even to the point of siding with Militants to sabotage the economy if Jonathan loses.

Jimi Agbaje's propaganda machinery also claimed the Oba Rilwan Akiolu said that ''the ibos in Lagos would be killed and thrown into the Lagoon if they do not vote for APC'' shockedshocked

i can say it authoritatively that the Olowo Eko, albeit a supporter of APC , did not issue such threat against the ibos.

Agbaje's divisive campaign will cost him this election, he will fail woefully.

@Bold
So am now an Outcast for not supporting that Agbaje's ambition should become an Igbo agenda.

Here is the point I will like you to note: Any of the candidates failing should be in NO way be the failure of Ndigbo. With Agbaje's efforts strategy towards Ndigbo in this race, if nothing is done, his winning or losing becomes the Status of Ndigbo from the election.

Both Ambode and Agbaje should canvas for votes from all Lagosians (Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Igbo, Efik, Ibibio, Nupe, etc). Agbaje must desist from making one ethnic group vs others. That is my point.

Agbaje will go down just like his master GEJ. No divisive politicians will ever be allowed to rise to a position of authority in Yorubaland. The igbos pushing Agbaje should also be careful. No matter how liberal we Yoruba's may be, we will never allow settlers to determine who will lead us. Lagos has sacrificed a lot to ensure that the opposition movement in Nigeria is sustained. Now that the opposition as gained power at the centre, we won't condone any desperate attempt by some disgruntled people to deliberately ensure that Lagos does not benefit from the new resurgence at the centre. We will never allow any group of people or politicians to derail the alignment of Lagos state with the APC controlled federal government.

The King's reaction .
Olowo Eko did not issue such threat. He actually had a meeting with ibo community leaders but he didnt threaten to 'kill all ibos and throw them into the Lagoon' as it is being circulated all over the social media. Its part of PDP/Agbaje's divisive campaign strategy which would certainly backfire on him

Agbaje collaborating with TAN is as a result of the greater working relationship both have formed during the presidential campaign,we don't see how it shouldn't continue even now it is the gubers. If the Oba isn't happy,he should go and call Buhari to help sell Ambode to the hausas instead of instigating the destruction of Lagos...Because this here is no different to Asari and Buhari's "dogs and baboons"...Worse come to worse igbos and yorubas will die because no igbo reads Oba's bombshell and won't vote Agbaje, let the game begin.

You can see the divide and rule tactics from inception.

I strongly doubt that th Oba said all those thing the media claim. Going by PDP's campaign in Lagos, it is easy to see that the speech released is just a consolidation of the propaganda they initiated

It is so sad to see that many smart people are falling for this.
