Mr OBA of Lagos , i will vote for Jimi Agbaje. Jimi Agbaje is equally a yoruba man and not an Igbo so why the hate.

As an Igbo man i supported APC in the federal level and will support PDP in the state level.

A tribe that cant get her leaders into power should not be given the chance to destroy the opportunity of other tribes who are willing.

[/quote]let the people choose their leaders by themselves, is jimi agbaje an igbo man? I know about some igbo guys that wanted to vote for for ambode.so,there is nothing wrong if igbo vote for ambode but they are strangers and trespassers if they vote for agbaje. This is democracy indeed....chai!!! GOD WILL HELP US IN NIGERIA.

I served in the south eastern part of the country, Igbos are not as friendly as we are to them, they need to respect the other tribes in Nigeria, the hatred is just too much , They are too tribalistic to even head any government parastatal, Lagos has given igbos more than they can give anyone in their own land, Igbos have a serving commissioner and also key officials in Lagos civil service from PS to directors in Ministries, a lot of Sec./Pry. school principal (state owned) are igbos, we don't discriminate against you guys, Dear Igbos don't bite the fingers that fed you.
Oba has spoken, let is sink into their skulls , Lagos is a Yoruba state not a no mans land, because you are permited to stay due to the friendliness of lagosian, don't take us for granted.
if any Igbo man complains about tax or other policies of this govt, Have a rethink, this policy affect all not the igbos alone, so we should stop the saying that this govt is targeting igbos alone.

Yes na. They should go back to their villages and vote there

They are here helping you develop your place and paying their taxes you didn't advise them to go to their villages and pay it.The Oba has no right to tell anybody whom to vote for, even his wife and i bet you,NOTHING will happen if they vote against him.Seems you reason through anus.

For every yoruba that is sentimental about other tribes having big influence in lagos, i understand you. But the truth remains lagos must pay the prize other internationl cities paid for being either an economic hub or political capital or both. Lagos enjoyed both for many decades and is still enjoying the economic hub of west africa. its only a mater of time before it becomes the centre of trade and commerce in whole of africa. But it can never aquire such status with reckless statements like this credited to the Oba. Other tribes contributed heavily to what lagos has been over the years. They have so much at stake not to be involved in lagos politics. They have a fair, reasonable right to vote whoever they prefere. In a sane society what the Oba said, if he actually said it, is beneath his exalted office.

Cities like new york, london, paris and several other cities are open to even inter-racial politics and lagos is of the same class as these cities.
When the United Nations was created, a search for a city in the US to serve as headquarters was conducted, a city was chosen. and the city happened to be the city of the Bush family. Being a big and influencial family, they rejected the offer. The reason they gave was that they were not ready to lose their city. They knew having such a mighty office in their city would attract many people into their city and subsequently their influnce will wane.
same is true even for cities that are state capitals in nigeria. The indeginous people lose lands to the government and the city witness large influx of many nonindeginous people. Its a prize most big cities must pay.
In many generations to come, Abuja will witness such.
But the indiginous people remains the chief bride of custody.

You make sense, anyone who abuses any leader is him or her self sick. The truth though is that the King should not speak like that with threats and curses. He that wants to be respected must act in a respectable manner.

I don't subscribe to any ethnic chauvinism but I think the day Orji Uzor Kalu mentioned Lagos as no man's land, the so much dreaded ethnic 'cocoonism' started. When FFK responded alongside a few Yoruba folks, I knew that won't be the end. Ethnic suspicion and civil war hangover is born.
Nothing is wrong in political assertiveness but that must be done within the socio-cultural boundary that will up the advantage for players in the society.
I will advise the Igbo leaders arrange a meeting with the Oba in council and hold peace meeting. Nothing is wrong if Igbos support a candidate with their bloc votes but nothing is also wrong if their candidate lose and the policies of the winner does not favor their cause.
It is however wrong to display disdain for your host community by flaunting your political strength even if you have it,but I don't support any form of threat.
I will igbos the best should Agbaje lose.

Vote Ambode and be ready for more toll gates.
The second toll gate along lekki expressway is yet to collect toll fees, but be assured they will commence tolling when they are voted into power.

With all these hatred brewing everywhere, I still don't see this whole entity called Nigeria existing in a few years time. Its only a matter of time and Nigeria Will be history. And BTW the last time I checked, we have many other nigerian tribes apart from Igbo in Lagos.also the last time I checked, I know a whole lot of igbos and Yorubas married to each other so why the hate?, I also know a whole lot of yorubas who support either ambode or agbaje. I also know a whole lot of Igbo's supporting ambode. So why the emphasis on just one tribe? That's why I still find it difficult or surprising to biliv its d oba that made such tribalistic statement.

u are very right. i served in that side too. igbos are the most sentimental in nigeria, yet they are yhe ones that have enjoyed from north and south west mostly. they are allowed freedom to establish and hhave properties they dnt even sell land to no igbos so i think they should br more accomodating and not take ppl for granted where they are allowrd. the oba did wrong for threatening if its true.
if we want one naija, igbos should be hospitable in their land.
you cant deprive ppl in ur place and want to rule in another man land.

The first law I learnt on the streets is that no matter how strong you are or how well you can fight, you do not look for trouble away from home, you can defend yourself and quickly find an escape route if need arises.

1. You do not know the nooks and crannys of a strange land.

2. If wahala start and you are outnumbered as surely you will be, how do you escape.

So since these guys have more to loose in potential income and possible destruction of goods if trouble starts, it is not wise to go against your hosts in any form..it is common sense.

And really the Oba has a point, can his people go across the Niger and start telling their hosts that it is no mans land...take it or leave it, it is really disrespectful and no good can come out of it.

Even other Yoruba tribes that are not indegenes of Lagos know their boundaries and limitations.

When Mbu came and started flexing muscles, it did not take long for him to adjust...

What you can't take dont try to give.

Your are totally wrong,no body is talking about Lagos being a no mans land here, what we are talking is our right as a Nigerian, the Oba doesn't have any right to tell any man how to sleep with his wife, the fact that i am residing in your domain, does it means that you can pontificate to me on what and how to do things?.I will not want to believe that he said so because i know that he is an enlighten man but i he truly did,he will be doing Ambode more harm than good because it is a reckless statement

Your Oba doesn't know about diplomacy abi, in this time of age, who gets a vote with treat, and worse, to a tribe that will choose to dare him. Igbos are still scattered in other Southwestern states, no Oba have brazenly come out like this to threaten us, over our legitimate right!? That is preposterous and should not be encouraged by well meaning Yorubas, APC should as a matter of fact openly condemn such inglorious comment, and harken only to the voice of wisdom. I still hold empathy for Ambode, but I hope this Oba will not be to APC what messers FFK, Dokubo, and Okukpe is to PDP.
