Igbos thoust protest too much.

What hurts them the most is that the speech is 110% correct.

There is no need taking anything back sparked off by sheer ineptitude, mischief and tribalistic leanings of your people at the Cable,if anything at all the Cable owes an apology to both parties slighted on the issue...not only Soyinka. We understand your pain..Tbh,most igbos don't care,we got to throw poo at Soyinka and his yeye people.Nice sport.
Tis only a tree that refuses to run when it hears an axe coming for its bark-call it sensisitivity, extreme sentimentality and overreaction,if you like-...especially if that axe bearer is on a world of mischief and egged on by onlookers from the same tribe. Soyinka just got a taste of what it means to be at the end of an igbo barrage,no small reason why he had to come out in strong denial and the yoruba cable in belated and one-sided apology.....Yorubas are filled with cowardice and a heavy dose of slave mentality.
You're irredeemably stupid.

Crying all over NL and other social sites is cowardice. Your leaders keeping mum is cowardice.

A patient dog eats the fattest bone. Yorubas cannot be easily deceived by deception in any form. The yorubas are not betrayers or hypocrites but intelligent and patient people in the face of trials and tribulations.

The two Yoruba journalists that broke that story must be fired. The mod that pushed the story to the homepage without cross checking its accuracy and credibility must be demoted to a sectional mod.

Now where will the slowpokes of nairaland who insulted the great prof hide their shame? O, I forgot, they've got no shame.
why do we always jump into saying poo of another when the person has made mistake or miss fired?

Put yourself in the position of the igbos & tell me is you would have acted differently considering the number of insult they have recieved even from influential NIGERIANS since after the election (including from Okoroch). The Igbos like me responded based on all the blames & fire work hipped on us since GEJ/PDP lost election from both yorubas, hausas/fulanis & our igbo APC members.

So take it easy while making some statements which are also very provoking, like this one you made here.

My APPOLOGY:
I humbly appologise to wole soyinka for my responses to that said publication. My response is not borne out of hatred but out of anger considering how APC members of both hausa/fulani, yorubas & igbos have called us names, told us that we have failed, that we are politically naive & so many other things which realy got all igbos who are not members of APC angry.

I say forgive & forget. However i am not regreting my action considering the circumstances that led to it.

Thanks

well i am not blaming any member of nairaland. Neither will i blame any mod because the story has a source. I dont also see any other comfirmation needed when the story is published on the website of the cable news.

Mod, supermod or whoever that pushed it to front page did no wrong & to me deserve no purnishment.

Unless if they have blacklisted the cable before now or if the cable is known to carry false news & fake stories. But aside from this... Anyhuman could have made the same mistake.

I guess apologies are in order from people like myself....who thought that the Prof made those regrettable comments.

YOU ARE A GREAT NIGERIAN! GOD BLESS YOU. WE'VE ALL LEARNT A GREAT LESSON TO LOOK BEFORE WE LEAP!!

I ignored that trash of a thread cos i know my amiable Prof wont say such words. The painful thing to me is someone accusing me wrongly on that same thread again, Prof Wole supports biafra right from Day 1 and even support the Niger Delta militants then. We should learn to verify stories before insulting people.

. Let see how some people will apologise as they so gullible coupled with hate to accept a rumour to be a fact.

since they r so good in calling others to apologise, if not ICC will be the judge; let see if they have any iota of dignity or shame in them.
Is just a pity how we populate the media spewing hate n incendiary comments about one another that the world can tell the difference and predict so easily our stand on any topical issue by our names. sad I so feel sorry the anti-Yoruba robots n the anti-Igbo robots too; especially the future of ur children. You know yourself.

Before you comment blindly go to the said thread and read what your fellows were saying about igbos.

Personally I denied the report because I have met Soyinka personally and know he is too big to say such.

But in country where I single tribe is single out for nonsense from yorubas then yorubas must be ready to have their heads filled with same thrash they want to pour on others.

Elections have come and gone but the yoruba media is more interest in how igbos vote than how yorubas & hausafulanis voted.

Why is igbo vote so over important to your people?

The damage has been done. This will be a serious lesson to people who speak about public affairs without caution particularly when it gravitates around the issues bedeviling this nation. If he can fall into these traps so easily then he becomes a victim of his advocacy - the free press that has given him expression and so much exposure is a double edged sword. He should flee from his high handed utopian views to work for equity and justice from the centre because he has just been found out as no more than one of us.

And people were in a hurry to insult Soyinka. Nawa for Naija peeps o. This mentality of 'bring him down' is annoying and distasteful. I kept mum over the matter cos I was doubting the story. Patience is important biko. Lets think properly before commenting, likewise confirming from a reliable source before pouring ur hatred

If you had tackled it from the root, then I wouldn't be commenting on ur post.
Go back and read that thread very well. Many of ur people supported the fake story and abused the Igbos as well. You failed to mention that because u are so biased.
Your only concern is that Soyinka was insulted.
Possibly because deep in ur mind, u believe that the Igbos deserve to be insulted.
