Lovely thread I must say.

I grew up a very shy and timid girl. I had severe acne since my teenage years and it affected my self esteem. I never kept friends and always hid face from people. My family never understood they felt I was a snub.

In my university days I struggled to go for lectures and face my mates, was sick of people recommending different solutions for my acne. Entered into relationships just to feel beautiful was mostly depressed.

Didn't know some of my mates envied what I had but never appreciated. I was brainy, from an averagely rich home but didn't think of those just wanted my face to be clear.

Got a job immediately after nysc and became self sufficient at an early age but was still depressed. Got married along the line and had my 1st child acne still remained. After my 2nd child, was outta job for a while cos had to relocate to be with hubby. Had it rough with depression and found solace in food.

Had a turn around when hubby started finding solace in a pretty nurse. Decided to look and feel good for me. I got a better job, started trying treatments for adult acne and cut down on my food intake with exercises.

After a while I looked and felt good getting compliments from strangers and even hubby started noticing the new me. I was able to save for vacations outside the country and went without hubby on 2 occasions smiley

The acne has not fully gone away but my face is a lot smoother and my stature great people don't know I have kids till I talk about them. And I am a lot bolder and less depressed.

This is my recent picture pregnant with my 3rd child. Was 4 months gone in this pics. Please don't quote me as I may delete this post later on. Thanks cheesy

My story got married in my late thirties even though i had kissed some frogs along the way. Dated my husband for a while and i almost lost him because i thought i could do better. Realised i had found my soul mate, my friend , my all in all. i am so confident in my relationship as i know he loves me unconditionally and strives to make my life easy in little ways he can, that is the assurance that i get. He shows off and talks about me to any and everyone. Everyday in the corner of my heart i thank God for making me choose right especially when i think of how many times i almost lost him. Everyday i see new reasons to love him more and more . Praying to God to give us a mini him and me .My Oba ,love you from now till eternity.

lol cheesy thanks for the compliment. After I decided to get back to shape, i started minor exercises I jogged twice a week round my estate very early in the mornings. If your estate is not secured, try indoor skipping with ropes.

I also take lemon juice with warm water 1st thing in the morning and last thing at night. Just squeeze half a lemon in a glass add warm water to fill up and drink. It helps a lot. Also worked for my tummy too. I also had my dinner 7pm latest. Try these tips and you'll start seeing results in 2 weeks. Cheers

Please adaobi12 bring your picture here and tell us a bit about how it was being with your family after 12 years apart. smiley

I am a sucker of good stories.
. We lost our mum 14 years ago. After the burial our relative decided that we are too tender to live alone with our father, due to the situation of things: finance etc.
We all split up, two of my sisters went to live with my uncle at port Harcourt, the last one ( the one in the picture) who was 6months old then was taken by an aunt who stays in Ghana.
I stayed back with my father.
Four years later, my maternal uncles started having issues with my father,i can't state the problem here.
Due to the problem, my father could not visit my sisters, and they can't visit us. I get to speak with them only on phones, until two years ago when my immediate younger sister gained admission, that I saw her again. I can't describe the joy I felt that day.
Yesterday, my aunt and her family relocated to Nigeria, my little sister was no longer the four year old toddler I saw 10years back, but a big and beautiful lady of fourteen. I really appreciate God for this day. All I pray is for Him to soften my sisters heart, to forgive my father for the negelect. It wasn't intentional.

Such a beautiful happy looking cutie wink

some people just run their mouths like say na them dey create babies angry

if you had listened to them will you have had such a sweet little girl smiling at you. .maybe you will have even been regretting when you see other people's babies Smh. You for shun them. I hate such utterances angry
Thanks to God and to the Mother for not bowing to pressure, as much as I love to say i was the reason the girl lives, i cant deny the fact that the mum played the greater role as she could have gotten rid of the pregnancy and damned me.

I know i wouldnt have forgiven myself if she was aborted, I notice the pain on some people's face when i proudly talk about her, some open up to me on how they wish they were as bold as i was and kept the pregnancies they aborted.

Such a lovely Child, never cries except when she is hungry, oh how I love her and am proooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud of her and her mum.

To anyone there in dilemna over pregnancy outside wedlock, brace up, take responsibilities for your actions and inactions, people woulld talk, but they have done worse, it takes just a little more effort to cater for pregnancy and a newborn, dont take the cowards way out... give the child an opportunity to live

No to Abortion

More stories:

When we were younger, we used to fight a lot. We fought over everything. Chores, food, clothes, shoes, everything.
We didn't even look alike so you couldn't tell we were twins. I think we were the most different kind of twins anyone ever saw. She was the carefree, outspoken and bold type while I was kind of reserved and shy so we didn't get along so well as per personality.

I miss you so much twinny. cry cry cry
And I cry when I play "if you believe" that we used to sing together and you're not here to spoil one line with a wrong lyric for me.
Or finish my perfume and lie that it wasn't you. grin
Or break my shoe heels and sneak it back into my closet before I can find out you wore it. grin
I'm not fun without you.

I love you so much. embarassed
