Ok, Here I go...

Will focus on my service year

Finished school and got mobilized for service immediately.

Was posted to Akwa Ibom and joined OBS (if I could turn back the hands of time, wouldn't) with my husband. Camp was so so; bad food (I hate terrible food); had water luckily and always holed in the studio when I was not practicing for parade. (My cousin told me she enjoined parading so I was determined to do so even if I had to march under the rain with my glasses )

The 3wks went in a flash and we were posted. Before then, I wanted to serve in a secondary school especially a boarding house (have passion for youths and teens especially females )

I got my dream posting... Presbyterian Snr Sec. Schl at Ididep, Ibiono Ibom. (A snr. science school so serious students )

We moved from the camp ground to our family house RCCG Ikot Ekpene and was 'put' on bike to my PPA (about 1hr on bike). I later learnt that bike is the major of transportation.

I just stopped wearing trousers and so when my body started itching on the bike due to the vibrations , I started confessing the sin of wearing trousers. I am sure I must be a very good comedian to Heaven. Later, I reasoned that I was not doing anything wrong since I did not decide the dress code. (when I returned to the lodge, my fellow female corpers complained same thing. Learnt to choose the right type of bikes)

Got to my PPA, had to look for other corps members posted there and started my registration. My Princi was one eccentric intelligent old man and a sweet natured VP with mighty hips . Since I was batch B, went home for August break and resumed in Sept

One fine day in Sept, 2 students came to our lodge to pluck mangoes and thus I met my wonderful school son who happened to leave opposite the school besides my church and I got to know his family. He & family was one of the people that made service fun and still maintained the relationship after service (came for my wedding from Akwa Ibom 3 yrs later ). I miss him sometimes

Got to teach SS3 students mathematics... I so loved it that I sometimes organized night classes so we could cover the curriculum and I used other teachers' period when they were not around. I practically discovered my passion for teaching (senior students don't think I can deal with Jnr school ) and my teacher loved me as he could gallivant and face his side (main) businesses.

My church was opposite our lodge and the market not too far away (my dream lifestyle)... my colleagues used to laugh at me. They will call one village next to us and I will give them a very blank stare .

My church... The pastor was a woman so I was a good help to her. Studied my Sunday school manual as usual the first day of attending there and she told me to take the Sunday school. Did and she loved it and I became the Sunday School teacher. It was an extremely small church and she is extremely happy I decided to stay instead of run to the Church in the nearest town (She didn't know that I rather attend a 2 member church opposite me than a cathedral in the town (Sabbath day is a day of rest. )

She was fun and very helpful. She had a plantain plantation and brought lush plantains for me very 2kws... I usually shared to my corpers and ate the rest. Beans is one of my best so I ate beans back to back garnished with plantain, crayfish, fried pepper & tomatoes and ugwu/scentleaf. Never been a fan of rice).

During one of our evangelism rounds, met another family I would eventually share the word with every Sunday evenings... Weekly services consisted mostly of me singing and praying alone in church.

My family house: visited there once a while... became known as a 'marriage counselor' lol! Always contributing to topics about marriage, women rights etc. na una sabi... also a lovely group of people. Papa A..

Had a very ugly experience during the general elections (doubt if I would ever vote/contest (who knows tomorrow?))

Allowee: Used 1K to go and collect 9k abi 8k with 6K state allowee. Was still able to do ISMN, do destiny push (x2 of tithe). Would think long and hard before spending 1 kobo. Used little beads to supplement my allowee.

Went to see the October 1 parade in the town ( I love such things... convocations, parades, etc. etc. unfortunately, I was unable to make mine due to distance . My mom still doesn't understand my attachment to such things )

Used to go and see hubby in a border town of Cross River... (N1K to and fro) (people still do not believe that we did not influence our postings) Spend two or three days once or twice a month. Remembered when he came to visit for a week (cooked more than some restaurants (I be foody foody sha and he loves excellent food .)) When we went to fetch water and we got lost My sense of direction sucks

That terrible, scary and steep hill we used to fetch water from; the boarding house master 'toasting' me and him giving the corpers live chicken (which my school son called my 'bride price'); the yeye teacher that told me he wanted me to help him cool 'sexual tension'... Me using Bible and my mouth to finish him

The day indigenes stole our plantain (uprooted it away )

The day I was swindled Hubby you are the best Sito, thank you dancing for me (you don't know what you did)

My lovely students.... My fellow members... My pastor... The family I taught... My family house... My school son & family... My friend Boom sha sha

My service year was awesome and I am still sometimes Akwa sick.

The day I was leaving, I was heart broken. I regret I did not tell my students goodbye... Went to their exam hall, assisted them, looked at them one last time and left the hall tongue tied.

The family of my school son did a wonderful send forth; My pastor same and my school.

Now I am Akwa sick (My boss better not catch me before I become work sick )

I owe all to my younger bro. After my dad's death, his benefits was almost exhausted on my studies alone making my younger bro to go through the hassles of public schools. This made him and my elder sis go through what I can't discuss here in life. Also, it made him not to be as bright as he ought to be educationally.

Onegai. Do you think you should have posted your story at all if you didn't want people to see it and couldn't trust people with it? Even without being on the home-page, the e-diot that needs it can come still across it. The thread had more than a thousand views prior to being moved.

I'm pretty sure you know of the 'Humans Of Lagos' thread where TochiPhotos shared the stories of people he interviewed. Like those people, you should only have shared stories you would be comfortable with to be displayed on a public forum.

And the crux of what I've been saying is that; whether or not it is moved to the home-page, you're still posting on a public forum.

By the way, why should a thousand of people be denied access to this thread just because you posted somethings you won't like to see on the home-page? Doesn't that sound selfish?

There might be some depressed folks out there who will get the help they have spent their whole lives searching for here. Why should you try to deny them the opportunity to do that?

I dedicate this to my lovely siblings and my parents, that gave me a voice, wen I was voiceless, I learnt from my father there is love after many many years of being married to my mum.
