. We lost our mum 14 years ago. After the burial our relative decided that we are too tender to live alone with our father, due to the situation of things: finance etc.
We all split up, two of my sisters went to live with my uncle at port Harcourt, the last one ( the one in the picture) who was 6months old then was taken by an aunt who stays in Ghana.
I stayed back with my father.
Four years later, my maternal uncles started having issues with my father,i can't state the problem here.
Due to the problem, my father could not visit my sisters, and they can't visit us. I get to speak with them only on phones, until two years ago when my immediate younger sister gained admission, that I saw her again. I can't describe the joy I felt that day.
Yesterday, my aunt and her family relocated to Nigeria, my little sister was no longer the four year old toddler I saw 10years back, but a big and beautiful lady of fourteen. I really appreciate God for this day. All I pray is for Him to soften my sisters heart, to forgive my father for the negelect. It wasn't intentional.

Wow! Your story hits close to home-someone very close to me went through the same ordeal.they are orphans and were separated at a very young age.I know how happy you must feel,it is well!

I wish you and your sister many years ahead-and may the good Lord continue to protect you both.

When I was growing up, I felt ignored a lot and didn't get someone to talk to about how I felt. My sisters were my friends but we didn't touch the boy areas, so I was misled a lot. Perhaps if I'd spoken up earlier I wouldn't have made some mistakes.

I got pregnant at 16 just after SSCE, and I knew what it meant. I hid it from my parents until I was 6 months gone and I couldn't keep up with chores anymore. I thought about having an abortion but I didn't even know where to start.

Somehow, my mom found out and I didn't deny. I'm sure that's the saddest day of her life. I told her I'd like to leave home for another town to have the baby. After I left, I wrote a letter to my dad to inform him. In his reply he told me he cried so much because he never thought his baby would derail but he would always love me. I could have died because coupled with hormones and all that letter touched me.

My parents were supportive all through, told my siblings not to blame me, bought all baby things and paid for ANC and delivery in the town I was.

Sadly, my father died that year, but not before I'd begged him for forgiveness. My mom confirmed to me that he said he had forgiven me, and he believed I could still make something out of my life.

My mom continued supporting me, pushing me and motivating me.

Today, I am a graduate, married, my son is 10 and I have a daughter too, overall it's a perfect climax.

I couldn't have done it without my parent's love. If they had sent me away or decided that since I got pregnant then my life was over, where would I be today?

I couldn't be a runs girl in school because I always remember where I'm coming from. Besides the stretch marks on my stomach are an emblem I've worn ever since to remind me that there's the correct time and place for things to be done.

Quite an epistle, just thought to share.

The pix attached is my hubby and I. I'll take it down soon.
I salute your courage, thanks to mum support and your eagerness and determination to make it in life. Having it rough earlier in life brought out the best in you

I think they are concerned about this wonderful thread being derailed once it gets to front page, Most threads tends to lose their touch, sincerity and openness once on frontpage. It's not about how many people that viewed the thread.

the story behind the name... loading

I named her Miracle...

When she was concieved, a lot of people from unimaginable quarters said she was better off aborted, making doom predictions and suppositions saying how we wouldn't pull through due to financial challenges and all that, hmmmm.... a lot of evil reasons.. but we were prepared to take the storm and we came out fine, She is very beautiful, loved and wanted by all... everybody claiming one thing or the other when if they had the final say, "she was was just blood that could be flushed away"

kai!

I have never knoen a happier time than holding her in my palms and having a laugh with her... Needless to say that everything was laid down to see to her smooth arrival, stressless and in ways it could only be God...

She would be 1 in 5days
My Miracle

She is absolutely gorgeous.

I understand, really. But should that be enough reason why a thousand people should be denied access to the thread?

I don't think it will lose it's touch. The moderators can always cart the garbage away. smiley

I will but all of the pictures of my mom is with my kid brother however I'll try and get it sha but I'm not promising you. My story

I noticed during my growing up years my mom was so hard on me that I didn't want her to be around me but now she always wants me to come to her house and when I come she doesn't want me to leave . she says she enjoys my company and always wants to hug me and all. Of course she's a great company to be with as we get to jist and jist for a long time while folding her clothes into the wardrobe and as for my daughter. She calls that one her last born. She always like taking that one around every where she goes. In church sef she usually refers to her as her last born not her grand daughter and so people are always so startled how an elderly woman will have a daughter as young as her . The ones that ha have boldness will ask me and I'll say that's my baby smiley
Sir/ma, "that one" is not a good word to qualify a human

I gained admission to study microbiology immediately I finished with my secondary education. I was the happiest person that day as I kept reading my admission letter over and over. I got to school and registrations and lectures started. Two years into the program, over 500 students were said to have had fake admissions and unfortunately, I was one of them. I thought I was dreaming at first praying that I wake from my dream but it never happened. I wept for days while asking myself.....did I just waste two years of my life, the stress, money and everything I put into the program? I called my mum and explained all that happened and she told my dad. They called me and told me I can stand again. They got me another utme form and I went for the exams without reading cos I was lost. I gained admission to study Environmental biology and fisheries in another institution. I started all over. Registered for 100 level courses while my mates were already receiving MCB 301 lectures. I was totally lost but I had my parents and friends saying into my ears every day that I shouldn't let go. All thanks to God, today I am a serving corper in FCT.

I want to share mine also.

Growing up, I always bed wetted every night I slept..It was only on rare nights that I woke up dry. sometimes I bed wet, change cloths and bed wet again.

Whenever I tried to feel bad and depressed, mum was always by my side, she told me of my cousin who bed wetted till university days.

Fast forward I entered secondary school, I bed wetted on the first and last day in school. I never tried looking for peoples trouble so that they wont call me a "bed wetter" in front of gals during school time.

There were days I will take my last meal in the afternoon and not take water again, yet I still wake up drenched in my own urine. I didn't know what was wrong. I prayed everyday for God to help me to stop. why was it me? even my brother who is 5 years younger than me doesn't wet the bed.

This contributed a lot to keeping me from many interactions back then in school. The height was in my ss2 when our hostel captain brought us out before the whole campus i.e the "bedwetting gang" so that they could pray for us. I died severally standing there in front of my juniors.
He didn't understand what people that bedwet pass through, so he thought he could make fun of us. I have forgiven him long ago.

If you still bedwet or you know someone who does, don't be harsh on them and ignore people that try telling down on you.

"Na who wear shoe know where e dey pain am pass"

I cant really say the actual date I stopped waking up from my own ocean of urine, I woke up one day and realised that its been a while since It stopped.
I am awaiting nysc come June 2nd and I didn't bedwet through uni.

Thanks for reading.
*No pictures so that you wont see me tomorrow and start thinking "rain maker".
