Every informed and well-meaning Oyibo knows that Nigeria is too complex with tribes and diverse cultures to succeed as one country.

The north of Nigeria which benefits most from Nigeria works tirelessly for one Nigeria against the development interests of peoples in the southwest and old southeast regions.

Result is that tribes in the southwest and old southeast regions remain at one another's throats owing to the conditions and competetetive trends in one Nigeria.

Present Nigeria would not have been this underdeveloped if Nigeria actually became split the way of 1966.

The truth is bitter. Except your likes accept it, that something is wrong with us as a people then we are going no where. You see your self calling the westerner racist when they are telling the truth about yourself that you refuse to accept. Pride, that is your problem. Remember pride come before a fall. Everything you are using today they invented it and yet you call them ignorant. Your life would have been miserable without them. Come out and show us that you are not the most ignorant people by providing quality life for your people.
My friend please shut your ignorant trap and go read your history. Whites only built on prior inventions by Africans and Asians. Africans invented mathematics, medicine, metallurgy, discovered mining, invented architecture and geometry. Go to Sudan, Ethiopia, and Egypt (which was originally black) and see monuments and structures thousands of years older than anything in Europe. International trade existed between Africa and Asia for thousands of years before the whites emerged from their caves. None of the progress you attribute to whites would have been possible without prior African ingenuity over thousands of years. So stop worshiping white folks. Be proud of who you are, and help develop your continent without feeling inferior to anybody. Comprehend?

For those of you who are allowing those comments made by right wing racists who hate black people who live in their own countries to get to you, you need to understand the power of the western media. first of all their media presents a very one sided story about what is happening in Africa and who is behind our problems.

Our leaders are corrupt we know that, but why are they allowed to stash their loot in European banks. Does it mean the govts of those countries can not freeze these accounts.

Also why were the likes of Goodlukc jonathan and obasanjo supported by the US and Europe despite their well documented corruption?

Without the support of western nations these our leaders would not last a day in office, so the bitter truth is that they are aided and abetted by the same people who pretend to be concerned about your welfare. It is in the interest of the Western nations for you to remain poverty stricken, backward and ignorant.

Those racists commenting about Nigeria do not know half the story, for example do they know that their govts arm and fund every single corrupt govt in Africa, do they know that they facilitate the transfer of looted money by our leaders into western bank accounts and offshore tax havens? Those people commenting watch Fox, CNN and BBC which are propaganda outlets used to brainwash people with lies, half truths and fabrications. You will never hear any discussion about the role of the World Bank in Africa and the economic destruction it has caused all over AFrica, instead what you will hear is how corrupt African leaders steal and loot, im not saying that this isn't true, what I am saying is that this is not the whole story.
For every dollar a western institution "invests" in an African country they get back 3 times what they put in, that's why Africa is such a lucrative place for many of them to do business.

Can we put all the blame on the leaders? After all, the leaders didn't come from outer space. People rise from the general populace to attain and rise to positions of leadership. The leaders are therefore a reflection of the general public. There is a saying "that the people get the government they deserve". Nigeria is a glaring example.

Lets be honest, a great number of everyday Nigerians indulge in one kind of negative behaviour/acts or the other, ranging from the mild, such as jumping queues, profiteering/over invoicing, flouting rules/regulations, cronyism (man know man, paddy-paddy), nepotism (family and relatives given preference instead of ability/performance being the yardstick) to the more severe such as corruption, fraud etc.

If things are provide according; I gurantee you there won't be queue; even the fraud; it's the situition they put us in; obasanjo caused Nigeria problem; now he is saint; do you have an idea how much a politician steals in office? Even common local government chairmen steal massively

We deserve every bit ridicule from them.
Things will never change until we change from within.
I'm elated that gej will be history by Friday because he has just made bad situation into a terrible disaster. History will judge him very harshly and I believe he deserves it.
You can magine that these white people don't know us as Yoruba, Igbos or Hausa just corrupt nigerians who don't know how to manage their God given resources.
This should be a new beginning for all Nigerians lets leave all this religious and tribalistic tendencies behind and build a new Nigeria. We can prove them wrong!

When you don't behave respectfully, no one will respect you. What hurts foreigners the more is that Nigeria has all that it takes to be the next dubai but because blacks love division alot, nothing will work. When you talk about all forms of racism, Nigeria should be the 1st on the list. This is not a trait found in only our leaders. So lets stop the blame shift. I expect one illiterate to come out and say that our problems are as a result of westernization as if the whites are putting guns on our head to do their bidding. Rubbish.

What do those countries have in common?
small size in land mass and population makes for less complicated governance.
Not taking away from them though, which is why division may be best for Nigeria.

The point I was trying to make to the poster is that you cannot generalize a whole continent to suit an image of a backward-facing space. There are plenty of decent places and developments ( extant and ongoing) on the continent. Yes these countries are small but I believe that with a federalized system of government, where each state manages its destiny, we can become more efficient. I do not know whether the tribal nature of many Nigerians prevent them from reading news reports of other countries and following their developments, rather than relying on a static mental imagery. The solution to the oil crisis is to open it up to private investment and competition and remove all subsidies. Government has no business in business. The Nigerian government has overseen the comatose in the oil sector. Government shouldn't build any refinery. We can't eat our cake and have it.

We only have ourselves to blame. ALL of our rulers are simply reflections of us. Go anywhere in the country and you see the same decay. Go to any university, hospital, police station...etc. Are budgets not allocated for the upkeep of all these places? Please let's be honest with ourselves. We need a change of mindset. We need to stop celebrating corruption and useless people and start focusing and honesty and diligence. We need to stop the 'BIG BOY' syndrome which encourages people to seek riches by whatever means. Until the mindset of Nigerians changes, Nigeria will NEVER change regardless of who is in Aso Rock.

All these guys bashing us like we are the only country with a problem.
When Ebola came, we didn't ask for their help in sending it away and today it is a thing of the past, we even sent our personnel to help other countries with Ebola and truth be told, Nigeria handled the Ebola case better than America. Lol they even got jealous of this and accused us of treating Ebola patients with pesticides.
I am not defending Johnathan cos he is the root of all these present problems in fact, the man should be tied to a canoe and sent back to the village he came from.

Meanwhile, let us all cooperate with the incoming baba to make our nation great so the bashing idiots can one day say; WE NEED NIGERIA TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!.

Stop taking these white kids seriously. They don't even realise how far we have come in development due to their biased media reports which depict ONLY scenes of African poverty. If you actually speak to some of them, they don't know we have things like tv stations, internet, airports, expressways, companies, banks, universities, proper houses, office buildings, restaurants, shopping malls etc. Or that we manufacture vehicles etc. They are VERY VERY ignorant about Africa. That is what informs their negative, racist views. Ignore them.
