Within ourselves, we know the state that is better.

was in aba today..chai, what i saw with my eyes is so horrible that even if okezie spends the whole allocation for 8yrs in the town it will still be a scratch on the surface. the level of rot and decay with almost all roads in aba a death trap is worth crying for. abia state where have we got it wrong that we are in this sort of bondage? the worst is that okezie has become the fall guy, its a pity. nobody should hope for anything to happen in abia more especially with the dwindling oil price, the destruction has been done already.

Enyi face-off from here, i.diot!
Which Abia is in bondage and which Okezie has become a failed guy, Okezie that just won yesterday? This how outsiders normally say rubbish about another man state. Is Mbaise better than Owerrinta talk more of Aba?

It's you, your family and Ihedioha that is in bondage and won't get out of it.

If you don't have anything good to say here, you have every right to remain silent.

Nwanne, have you been following that project?
Hmmm, more than N5billion has been invested on that project and can not be left just like that. And that project is one of the best projects TA Orji executed in Abia state.

I know that TA Orji punished Aba for complete good 8years but we can't pay evil back to Umuahia city and people because of him.

He's just a one person from the over 1million population of Umuahia clans.
y bring the "clan" angle into it?

Btw that government house should be on hold till things that will benefit the masses has been taken care of

Are you minding him? I don't know why these people always like to say the bad part of Aba. What of the good places like Old and new GRA, Umungasi, Ogborhill , Nigeria- brewery, factory road, Okpulor Umuobo and many other axis. And what of Umuahia, is it not in Abia state sef?!

I've been watching that guy in particular, he loves being economical with truth.

He did not go anywhere, he was looking for attention. People that have been to Aba of recent told me that Aba is a huge construction site, so why will i take serious a comment of a tout who's still campaigning for a failed man even after election.

I was in Aba recently and it understandably is not a huge construction site. The Governor is starting well with the drainages as they must be opened for roads not to fail shortly after construction. I believe in him and he will succeed. These pictures can prove I was actually in Aba.

I always believe you. Leave that attention seeking IDIOT.

Listen I have some links to abia, my mother is from ubakala so i am a stakeholder here. I am only stated what I saw in aba and there is nothing like being economical with the truth. Aba was left to decay and rot away completely even if okezie spend the 8yrs allocation on the town only it can only amount to scratch on the surface because almost all the roads are in a terrible condition coupled with dirts. I wish abia well but I can't hope for much more especially with the dwindling oil price around the world.

nwanne, there is hope okay? loans, grants, austerity and commitment will take us there faster than we ever imagined.

Chino has invaded Abia thread with his Ihedioha2015 handle. Of course we all know what to expect.

Meanwhile I read that the Aba mega mall has opened. What exactly is going on there? Is it a market for "Aba made" stuffs or a typical shopping and entertainment center like normal malls elsewhere?

Then this Rhema University how is it waxing?

What nonsense, who is chino what does he look like? you think I am one the disgruntled elements like you who go about causing disunity among igbo unity? I say it the way it is. You must have seen my comments before and after elections, I remain the same. I careless about what you think but it will not stop the likes of Ihedioha from taking what is duely theirs.

Abia, Eastgate move to realise Aba ICD
July 16, 2015 | Filed under: Breaking News,Maritime | Author: GODFREY OFURUM

The long awaited Aba Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Avor Intigha, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State, will soon be realised following interest shown by the new administration in the state, BusinessDay has gathered.

According to a source, preparation for the construction and operation of the facility is almost completed by the Abia State government and Eastgate, concessionaire to the project, as the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has also been billed to meet with officials of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Federal Government’s ports economic regulator, to discuss modalities for the realisation of the project.

The new government in Abia is expected to realise the project for the benefit of the people, as the multiplier effect of such a facility cannot be over-emphasised, the source said.

The ICD project was initiated to ease off congestion at the country’s ports as well as fast track clearing services to importers in the country, of which Aba has a large number.

Out of the six ICDs recommended to be built across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria, the Aba ICD was the first to be issued with a certificate of occupancy, a feat Adamu Biu, former CEO of NSC, observed was as a result of the good relationship that existed between the host community and the concessionaire, as well as the doggedness of the management of Eastgate to realise the project.

Based on the arrangement, the Abia State government is to provide infrastructure and other logistics for Eastgate to move in and develop as well as manage the terminal.

Eastgate was issued with a certificate of occupancy in 2008 by the NSC, while the agreement for the commencement of the physical development of the project was signed in 2009.

All the parties to the project, including the Federal and Abia State governments, NSC and the concessionaire – Eastgate Inland Terminal Limited, expressed their commitment to ensuring the realisation of the Aba ICD, believed to be the most viable of the six ICDs proposed for different parts of the country.

The project, which is to be executed under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, BusinessDay gathered, has been stalled due to civil service protocols, a situation a source said would, not had cropped up if the project was to be executed by the concessionaire alone.

BusinessDay also gathered that the project estimated to gulp about N70 million, would now be executed at about N100 million, no thanks to the global economic meltdown, which resulted to further devaluation of the naira.
