They NEVER planned to install Awolowo; that was the lie they sold to Ademoyega whom they needed, was the only Nigerian Army officer with training on Signals and Operations and he was Yoruba. He was also the last to be recruited. Without him, they would not have been able to coordinate the operations. If there was really a plan to install Awolowo, breaking him out of jail in Calabar would have been high on the priority list. We know that never happened.

Furthermore, on a later date after Ademoyega came across Ifeajuna, they got into a physical fight because he (Ademoyega) realized he had been taken for a f00l.
