Hello ma'am.. I can tell you that I was through this pain 100% last week. In fact I ranted and ranted. I was misunderstood

I didn't say Form A doesn't work o.. Before someone attacks me on here..
Well Mr twinkle1, In ur own case u weren't stating Ur experience or asking for advice... U were only STATING CATEGORICALLY THAT IT DOESN'T WORK and that ppl shouldn't bother trying to waste their time.. THATS A MISINFORMATION and som ppl here were trying to put u straight ...here is an extract from ur post den...

I REGRET EVER USING FORM A.

EVERY PROSPECT STUDENT TRYING TO PAY IN TO THE BLOCKED ACCOUNT.

RUN AWAY FROM FORM A.

FORM A IS ONLY FOR SCHOOL ACCOUNT.

YOU CAN ARGUE ALL YOU WANT ABOUT PEOPLE DOING IT ON HERE TILL CBN BOUNCES YOUR MONEY.

CBN EVEN CLEARLY STATED THAT ITS FOR SCHOOL ACCOUNT.

EVEN THE GUYS THAT DID IT ON HERE WERE TOLD BY SOME POPULAR BANKS THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.

IT IS RISKY. AS LONG AS IT IS DB PERSONAL ACCOUNT JUST FORGET IT.

LISTEN GOOD! USE MONEY GRAM OR TRANSFER VIA A DORM ACCOUNT OR CHANGE UR MONEY TO EUROS OR SOMETHING AND SEND.

PLS DON'T EVEN PROVE JACK ON HERE ABOUT FORM A. I KNOW WHAT I'M EXPERIENCING AT THE MOMENT.

WHAT THE BANK WILL CHARGE ME AND ALL I DON'T KNOW! .

MY EXPERIENCE TODAY.

IT IS WELL.

Maybe U'll laugh at urself after reading ur post again because just two days after ur posts ppl ( pompido and obiwann) came on here to tell us they were able to do the same transfer dat same week...
AND I HOPE I DIDN'T ATTACK U

@swtxt and twinkle1

Why not open an account with Fidelity or Union that have worked for several others? I'm just of the opinion that the stress involved with going about this will pale in significance to the cost a dorm account will incur... Just my opinion

Bro I really want to clarify this.. There are no several others that did form A for personal account funding.

Max it was 2-3 people.. May be 2 sef.

Bro I can tell you that many people have been using the dorm since. In fact if u ask some people in Germany they will ask "which one is Form A"? .

Like I said.. For her.. This is why the money transfer ish will start.. Fidelity has one weird required no German school will write for any international student to fund jack.. Na only if u want use their logo and forge letter.

I will say this again. You guys need to know the difficulty in this Form A from almost all Nigerian banks.

Even CBN workers are shying away from it. It's not fair some people will just come and say shebi so so and so did it oya start transferring ur money.

Let me tell you sef.. Someone that claimed he did it listed banks that do it. In fact he named Skye bank and Stanbic. In fact it's these two banks that even disappointed me and that lady.

Mind you we even contacted HQ union.. They said we should use dorm.

@swtxt see didn't I say it you will get replies that u should transfer ur money to another bank. To be extremely honest if it works.. You will save ur self of 200k+ that's 'if'.

Tell ur mum u got info on nairaland that they said it works. Well If she can do it.

I will be very happy for you.

I think we all should try and reflect a bit on the information he is trying to pass across as it may simply require a second look to understand his message.

The fact remains that he probably has the most current information since he did his interview today. I also did mine today.

The point is that the Biographically old document is no longer required as part of the documents to be submitted. Of this I am sure for M.Sc applicants at the least.

We are all trying to help one another because we were also helped.

"It was in my heart to help a little because I was helped much"
Visa is not something to toy with. If a certain document that was/is mandatory is no longer mandatory then people will need to see the evidence so as not to make any mistake. Simply saying it, is not enough.
For msc application, we automatically submit a document older than 5 years (secondary school cert) so it may not apply for msc students. (that is what I think anyway)
If you have any document supporting this changes please share with us..

Can't you tell your mum to transfer the money into your own account so that you can fund the blocked account yourself? If they still refuse to carry out the transaction for you after that you can look for another bank.

swtxt:
Hello house, just when I thought that I'd finally scaled through the form A hurdle, my mum's bank(Stanbicibtc, Umuahia) called to say they couldn't complete the transaction. Reason's being that: 1.) They need an official letter from the school stating that the money is indeed for my yearly upkeep (my mum has told them the embassy and not even the school demands that the money be paid into the account before you get any visa but they still insist on the letter)
2.) They(the headquarters) say that even though they're familiar with people using form A to fund their account (which as a matter of fact I'm beginning to doubt), that they've only handled the cases where the person trying to transfer is in fact the owner of the account (my mum is trying to transfer to my account with the form A method) and they've not come across a case where someone else is making the transfer.
All these things are beginning to stress me out sha... Anybody with an idea on how to tackle these issues? cry cry cry

Oga,

Stop confusing people here nah. I vividly remember Obiwann bashing you for this.

I was at Stanbic bank, Allen Junction with Kennyoguns to make the transfer. we were asked to use the Dorm option cos form A is meant for school blah blah blah.

Days after, he enquired from union bank head office and he was asked to do the following

1) open an account with them
2) Transfer the money
3) Bring supporting documents

And 72 hours Later, his account was debited and his db was credited.

That being said, I realized I have a very close cousin of mine who's presently working at Stanbic IBTC head office. I approached him in the office and he told me he's even the one in charge of sending the cash. He even Joked at me of "running to germany" lolz grin grin

Anyway, after series of discussion, he showed me over 6 transactions which he has carried out and I also verified it myself.

But unfortunately, he said he could not help me because my admission letter was not signed, hence he cant do anything. he can only process the money if the account holder has an account with them, has a "Signed" admission letter, and other supporting documents.

I begged and begged but he said no, because that's the bank policy. Unless, I have gotten another job for him.

To cut the long story short Mr twinkle. stop mis-leading people. not everyone can afford the extra 200,000 by using Dorm account.

If it doesn't work for you, It may work for others, At least over 5 people have used this method here and it worked.

CBN has nothing to do with the case here. The bank will need to Buy Forex from the Apex bank and initiate the transfer.

My advice for swtxt is to open a stanbic account, transfer the fund to her account and initiate the transaction with other documents.

Others may contribute, but as for me, I rest my case here.

Just to add a little extra point.

Fidelity is still processing the Form A thing. Some here posted their requirements after contacting them. Other banks also.

The point.

You need to be able to explain in details in your cover letter and attached as many prove as possible.

Take for example: I attached my Admission letter, Email from German Embassy requesting to funds, German Embassy Required documents, if possible information from your university website talking about the block account.

In addition, a cover letter suffix with reference to the attached documents. I even marked the cost and block account information.

In my case, my admission letter stated the necessary cost for the block account. I marked this also.

If you simply can not provide this documents then use Dorm.

Like the guy said above.. it worth trying (200k no be change.. but if you get am no wahala)

The truth is this is German study visa process.. CBN should not be bias. Some one should get in touch with CBN..about this

I no fit fight sha..

If you have time try.. guys

For those asking about the new checklist being used by the embassy, I believe the checklist below is what is being referred to. Arrange exactly as numbered:

Original Documents
1. Admission letter
2. Proof of financial means
3. Birth certificate or declaration of age
4. School - Degree certificates

Photocopies - Two sets: one behind each application form
1. Copy of the passport data page
2. Admission letter
3. Proof of financial means
4. Birth certificate or declaration of age
5. School - Degree certificates

At the back of the application forms
1. Signature
2. date of the day of application
3. Phone number
4. E-mail address

Pointers:
1) For "At the back of the application forms", the signature and other information should be at the back of the questionnaire you fill to check if you're a terrorist. Oh, and this questionnaire, and the application form, should be stapled together. With the application form coming first.
2) Arrange the documents in three sets; original documents followed by the two photocopies.
3) About the biographically old document, for mine, I included my school leaving certificate (waec) under "school - degree certificates", so this covered for it. I would believe those applying for MSc and B.Sc. would at least have this document, if not, use any old identification document you have.

Disclaimer: The above checklist and included pointers was what I used to arrange my documents, and what I submitted at the embassy when I had my interview early in July, without complaint or corrections, with regards to the documents provided or arrangement. It is by no means an indication of the document in use currently, until confirmed by those who recently had their interview. Being that as it is, I am not liable if this checklist is now obsolete.

Also worthy of note is the fact that we are meant to be helping each other on this forum, not taking unnecessary jabs at each other. If you feel an information does not suit you, feel free to ignore it, free of charge. Unnecessary retorts stay derailing this thread, and may instill unfounded fears in the heart of 'newcomers', 'mo gbo mo ya' readers and ghost readers who refuse to join in. The notion that because one thing does not work for you means "it does not work", is a fallacy of hasty generalization. One mans food is after all another mans poison. Let the advice given here serve as guidance, because as it stands, it is definitely not compulsory. I believe except you're here, and you happen to be excessively underage (which I doubt), you're of age to know right from wrong. Let your intuition guide you.

Good morning all,
Just decided to kept mute on you asking me about proof of the documents/arrangement in use now because someone posted that few pages back and everybody that did their interview afterward confirms the authenticity ..,which am also doing because i had my interview yesterday......(you might include any document you dim fit but just to clarify that its no more on the new list and you won't be asked for it).

@Futurewise
For me to be able to ask her questions after the interview kinda tell you how the interview went...Alhamdulilah once again.....thanks to every contributing soul on Nairaland.
Maybe i should just recap...how it went after the main interview......
(The VO had told me to put the phone down and she has did same with her headset.

VO: Already packing my files and telling me that am done with the interview but i have to wait back for my biometrics as they having issues with their internet.

Me: I have some enquiries to make ma'm

VO: kindly do that .......(responding with a bright face ).
Note: During the interview i have already told her i had initiated the process of funding my blocked account but i am yet to be debited.

Me: A friend of mine intend using a sponsorship letter for his studies, through his uncle that resides in Germany but the uncle has travelled out and couldn't get him the letter for now...Can my friend booked for an appointment using the the blocked account and probably have his interview and afterwards when his uncle is back in Germany can he switch to using a sponsor.

VO: After the interview ?? No, his application would have been processed by then..so he MUST fund the account.

Me: Thank you......hmmmmm so do i make flight reservations (she's already on her feet making photocopies but still listening to me).

VO: Though i understands its cheaper to book way ahead, but just try to hold on....please.......you should understand....(politely)....

Me: Thank you Ma'm.

VO: You welcome(with a smile).

Godwins...., He always does.....#Teamkiel #Teamwinter

Nice one Sir @observer ...i did try uploading the list..

Oga Twinkle1 you don start again oh..Which one be all this my mama this, my mama that...Anyway you get luck say the original message wey I don compose to reply you, my network no let me drop am. However seeing that others have already helped me chide you, I wouldn't want you to have nightmares tonight so me sef go rest my case. tongue

Swtxt, walai all this my mum this, my mum that wey I de see for this thread just dey piss me off.. Are we freaking kids or adults
anyway, make I no just put mouth for your matter.

Ceesaw and others talking about new checklist; It was I who specifically was given the new checklist when I had my interview. Go back and read my interview and read about my encounter with the fair ibo man. I gave same checklist to dolpaz and that is what he uploaded here (few pages back). if we all can just read this thread, all the many many grammar and English and needless repetition wouldn't arise.

*goes back to sleep*
Yeah I was given that paper too when I went for mine to aid arranging the document. Infact the igbo guy brought it out when one girl was fidgeting and scattering her documents every where.
My point is since they did not put it on their website for other prospective applicants, its better to just go with what they have on their OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
Besides the VO asked for my WAEC scratch card after flipping through the documents I handed over (th July).. So you can imagine if I went by the checklist at the gate. She also stapled the extra passport photo I gave her on my file.(also not on the gate checklist)
Plus.. there is nothing wrong in some one's mum or dad assisting them in admission/visa process. Dont make the girl feel inadequate. Some grown ups still pay huge sums to agents to assist them how much more one's parent..

U c, u were even given d paper. If you read d advise I and some others gave here few pages bk, we said CARRY ALL YOUR DOCS ACCORDING TO THE OLD CHECKLIST (ON GERMAN EMBASSY WEBSITE), BUT ARRANGE THEM ACCORDING TO THE NEW CHECKLIST (ON THIS NL THREAD). Do this & you would hv successfully evaded any stress/stunt/mind game the Fair ibo man or VO would pull that could destabilize you and ruffle u b4 you even start d interview proper.
Again, I gave a very detailed ordeal of my xperience regardn same issue few pages bk

@Futurewise

Ok I get you. But you know not everybody going for that interview is on Nairaland . The rest will see it first at the gate of the embassy.
Didnt she ask you for an extra photo and Waec scratch card.. Because she asked me and the two other guys on th july..

Am happy you asked that question of switching method of funding and shared it here.. a friend is in that situation. I will just advice him according to the VO's answer.

I would say that you didnt read the thread properly yourself.. we brought up this new checklist/old checklist thing after somebody asked what biographic document to use and somebody replied that it is not required anymore referring to the new checklist.

OH PHLUEASE, go and read few pages back and you'd see that we had already sorted this checklist matter. No come here de tell me say I no read the thread properly. After you see my first post on d issue, compare it with the advice I gave just now and tell me if it is consistent or not.

If you have time try.. guys

Start early
