thanks broi do not know why his confusing people. i have dropped my experience last week i have even recommend the form a for others i know people that have even gotten their visa already even db don mail me all with form a i even used 2 diff bank i wont explain again if you have more money you can use dorm acc but even now it more than extra 200k as euro as gone to about 264 in black market.
dolpaz:

Oga,

Stop confusing people here nah. I vividly remember Obiwann bashing you for this.

I was at Stanbic bank, Allen Junction with Kennyoguns to make the transfer. we were asked to use the Dorm option cos form A is meant for school blah blah blah.

Days after, he enquired from union bank head office and he was asked to do the following

1) open an account with them
2) Transfer the money
3) Bring supporting documents

And 72 hours Later, his account was debited and his db was credited.

That being said, I realized I have a very close cousin of mine who's presently working at Stanbic IBTC head office. I approached him in the office and he told me he's even the one in charge of sending the cash. He even Joked at me of "running to germany" lolz grin grin

Anyway, after series of discussion, he showed me over 6 transactions which he has carried out and I also verified it myself.

But unfortunately, he said he could not help me because my admission letter was not signed, hence he cant do anything. he can only process the money if the account holder has an account with them, has a "Signed" admission letter, and other supporting documents.

I begged and begged but he said no, because that's the bank policy. Unless, I have gotten another job for him.

To cut the long story short Mr twinkle. stop mis-leading people. not everyone can afford the extra 200,000 by using Dorm account.

If it doesn't work for you, It may work for others, At least over 5 people have used this method here and it worked.

CBN has nothing to do with the case here. The bank will need to Buy Forex from the Apex bank and initiate the transfer.

My advice for swtxt is to open a stanbic account, transfer the fund to her account and initiate the transaction with other documents.

Others may contribute, but as for me, I rest my case here.

Gemeinsam Sind Wir Stark wink

My fellow Nigerians going to Germany by August/September 2015, I hail una oooo.

If I say this thread is not insightful and great, menh, I dey f-up be that.

Well, this Sperrkonto has really been an issue on this forum and i want to share my experience with First Bank of Nigeria PLC (no strings attached).

I went there on Friday last week to carry out the block account transaction. Although I was sending 7200 euros instead of the 8040 euros because, my cousin is paying the balance for me over there.

I was given the Form A to complete which I did with high hopes, submitted other documents : A letter to debit my account, Intl Passport datapage, Admission letter, Deutsche Bank letter with account details, plus the usual Form A.

I went home feeling fly that the transaction was a piece meal and that by Tuesday (today), I will get a credit alert from DB about my transaction.

Funny as it may sound, a whole first bank headquarters at Marina, is still asking me to provide a letter from the school stating that the money is for my up keep? Can u imagine?. I was least expecting such from a head office. Where the hell will I get such letter from? more over, it is a requirement from the German Embassy and not a requirement from the school.

So, i smiled and told the lady not to touch any dime from my account until she receives further instruction from me.

Well, after some time, I came on-line to read some of the posts of my people on nairaland. and my vex don reduce small for FBN PLC.

Now, I chose to go the Fidelity, GTB or the Union Bank way but, I need to get details of the EXACT documents required abeg. ( no be wen I reach there, them go tell me say make i go bring another letter from my "Grand papa wey don die since".

So guys, I need your inputs on this, biko nu, Ejo o,

Thanks.

Good evening wonderful people.
I have successfully registered with goethe institute, and I was given three books which everything in it was written in dutch that i don't seem to understand anything but before I left the office, the lady that attended to me showed me a DVD , that she said is a video that will enhance my studies, the price is 5k.

pls , I want to ask people who has attended this particular programme, was it the same?

How helpful was this particular DVD?

I was also told, that I will be pay the sum of 12k for the exam come October, which I think it's supposed to be 8k because of the internal and external candidate ( since I registered with them ,I think am supposed to be internal candidate).

Thanks everyone. The journey has just began!!! , I pray for success at the end. still searching for schools that might offer my course this summer. #mech engr.

Regarding block account funding. I visited just two banks (GTBank, Fidelity Bank) in my area Festac Town. After I explained what I came for, I discovered that some of these bankers to a large extent lack knowledge of the task they have been saddled with. As for GTBank- the lady I was directed to made some calls and told me sorry that they have stopped Form A transactions. When i insisted and mentioned thier HQ, she said i should try their HQ that they might be an exception. As for Fidelity, I got in there, went to the Funds Transfer section and made my inquiries but I was surprised the lady said to me, I must have a corporate acct b4 I can talk about Form A transactions. So I got out and sent a mail to their headquarters and this is their reply below-

Dear Mr. Kingsley,

Thank you for your mail.

Regarding your enquiry, please note that we do not send out soft copy for form A. You will have to visit the branch with the following requirements:

FOR PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES

1. Current School Bill (the validity should be within the existing school calendar year and also under school logo)
2. School admission letter (for authenticity, it must be under school’s letterhead, or school logo, if sent via e-mail)
3. Copy of Applicant’s (account holder) International passport bio date page or certificate of incorporation/business registration for corporate bodies.
4. Customer’s Letter of Authority to debit for the transaction (properly verified by the branch)
5. Completed Form A with the school’s name indicated as the beneficiary.
6. For post-graduate degree, copy of First Degree Certificate (not Statement of Result)
Note that school fees will be paid directly into the school’s account.

FOR PAYMENT FOR STUDENT’S UPKEEP OR LIVING ALLOWANCE

1. Estimates of the Student’s Living Allowance on the school’s letter-head for authenticity
2. School admission letter (for authenticity, it must be under school’s letterhead, or school logo, if sent via e-mail)
3. Copy of Applicant’s (account holder) International passport bio date page or certificate of incorporation/business registration for corporate bodies.
4. Customer’s letter of authority to debit account for the transaction (properly verified at the branch)
5. Completed Form A with the student named as the beneficiary.
6. For post-graduate degree, copy of First Degree Certificate (not Statement of Result)
Currently, the only option for form A payments is interbank funds which can be accessed any day. The rate is as advised by Treasury Group.

Thank you for choosing Fidelity Bank.

.....so the bottom-line is that it is 100% possible using the Form A for funding the students acct. Again, seems one must be an acct holder. What I don't know now is what type of account needed ( savings or current).

Fidelity information above for BLOCK Account

On your letter make sure you explain why you pay 7200 Euros instead of the usual

The book is not for you to be self taught. "Schritte Plus" is the book you are talking about. That book is for class works and used in all the Goethe institute world over the world so they didn't consider whether you are an English speaker or not. So, if you bury your head in it without attending class or prior knowledge of the language, you are only exercising your neck. The voluptuous woman do always have good self study books for English speakers learning German.

******************************************
As regards learning the language by oneself, let me relay my experience. Its not impossible at all learning by oneself, IF you have the right materials, the determination and discipline and also time. I tried at first, but I had a lot of things, my discipline wasn't top notch although I had the materials, so I enrolled at Goethe so that will be FORCED to learn. Yet the problems still followed me to the place and still wasnt overtly attentive in class nor did I do assignments and the stress of travelling 6 hours + to and fro wasn't easy. Well, always being the lucky bast*rd, I passed with a "good".
What I understood is that, classes kind of make you more disciplined than you would be if you are on your own because of test marks and all that and gives you a good foundation. simple corrections here and there by experts makes you better. On the other hand, self study is more flexible. Either way, whichever one you choose, do a self assessment to know what works for you, after all, people attend classes and still fail while some don't attend at all and still come out tops.
For me, I will brush up my A1 again and get set for A2 self study and my target is October.

Our very Dear Eke40seven has been banned for posting something about learning the language....

If anyone removes this post i will report to Seun direct embarassed

Anyways he said I just pass this message across:

For those whose interview falls on the 11th and 18th of August should prepare extra because it may be a different scene all together. Words came out from a reliable source that those days will be designated SPECIALLY for student visa interview so every VO at the embassy (both student and non student VOs) will take part in the conduction of interviews..so there could be a different situation entirely. This is because of the massive student population that they are confronted with.

Thanks
