Yepee!!! My beautiful mummies,hope we are all doing great. Pls my DS will be 6 months on august 2 and i want to start introducing cereals after then. I want to buy Frisogold, Cow and gate, Purity and Heinz for him,pls hope these combinations are not too much? And pls those of you mamas that give your babies cereal how do you rotate it? Like can i give frisogold in the morning, cow and gate in the afteroon and purity in the evening or i will have to give a particular brand all day.
Pls again,is rice based cereal better than wheat for a start? Pls put me through all these questions because if i make mistake my DH can sue me o
I forgot to add that he is presently on only Nan 1 and breastmilk.

@jam04 please when you say dairy products, u mean milk right. I thought I needed tea n pap for rich bm. Any substitute for milk? Meanwhile, she finally pooed last night. But the farts no b here o. Please is there anything I can give to reduce it. someone said very little quantity of gestid, it doesn't sound right to me

He wants to suck his thumb and I no gree him, I think m winning now (though he cries whenever I remove it) cos he doesn't know how to coordinate the hand well yet. Babies r different, my DS never had diaper rash no matter d type I used. I only used Shea butter 4 him truout his diaper days. But I tried it wit my DD, 2wks afterbirth, started havn diaper rash. In fact, she had ela, change of skin n reacted 2 baby oil touching her face, bed sheet n all. I had 2 get sudocreme 4 her bum, though its slow, it works. But d rash comes back after like every 2 mths, dats y I want 2 try dis baby tribotan. Dis my epistle long no b small.

Yes..according to matron at Randle,dey said it is nt gud..dey even insulted one woman dat breastfed her new baby while lying down..it is nt gud for baby, n MIL Says it do affect deir ears..

pple say dairy products make babies gassy. that may b true but personally I like milk n its rich in protein n calcium. with most naija dishes being essentially carb I didn't stop my milk intake or even beans. its a stage babies outgrow it as their digestive sys develops more

No wee in 24hrs is sure a reason for worry but are u sure there's no wee @ all or usual freq is reduced?
My 17month old bn ill for a few days and I thot he wasn't weeing until I saw dat he pulls of his diaper and wee anywia he see though the freq is reduced but if u tink there's no wee @ aall pls get d kid to d hosp. Hope dis help

That sounds more like sensitive skin and an allergy to some chemical compound (she's reacting to baby oil). May I suggest switching over to more organic creams and oils (coconut oil and olive oil) and baby washes (Johnson's is notorious for being pretty harsh, try Aveeno or a few other brands if you can get them from abroad).

Some advice from a pediatrician and dermatologist for babies with persistent diaper rash: they advised that a lot of chemicals and synthetic fragrances are in a lot of bab products and recommend using more organic products. Diapers (unless they are those cheap cheap Chinese ones were one doesn't know how they made it) are usually safe (but they contain SnP, the ingredient used to trap moisture and parents don't like that it's a petrochemical) but leaving them on too long can irritate the skin. Wipes can be drying or have something that irritates skin, so switch to using a soft face towel with warm water to clean up for a while (less harsh on baby) and get a mild organic butt cream.

Don't no the cause of all these rashes oo. Pls I need your assistance as this whole thing is about to drive me crazy.
Secondly, my elder sister's new born 4 weeks has been stooling (over 6 times a day)..greenish stool. Pls I need your urgent response on these issues.

Outside Nigeria, they actually teach you that it is safe to lie down and breastfeed. So maybe its the positioning that made the matron say it's wrong, not the lying down.
