There's the PRECEDENCE RULE even in BODMAS so
3+9=12
then
12-3=9
then finally
9+3=12
final answer
12

for more info on precedence rule check K A STROUD: ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS TEXTBOOK.

it appears that Addition comes before Subtraction in BODMAS but in actual sense they are of equal priorities, now the question, which should we do first since they are of equal priority. Addition or Subtraction.
the answer is: Do that which comes first but make sure that all you have left is addition and subtraction to do.
this similar case exist with Division and Multiplication.
they have the same priority.

Assuming you are owing mr A #3( i.e -3 ), and mr B gave u #3 for u to have lunch(since it is ur money lets call it +3). you now remember that you are owing mr A #3. If u decide to pay the debt, pls how much will be left with u. Definitely #0. so u see -3+3=0.

I wonder why someone who correctly fill the acronym BODMAS and still arrive at 12. Do we really understand the operational procedures of BODMAS? If so, we are expected to treat all Brackets bfor Off, all Divisions after Off, all Multiplications (3*3= 9, hence new equation is 3+9 - 3+3) after Divisions and all Additions (3+9) - (3+3) after Multipling and then Substrctn. So ladies and gentlemen, what is our final answer?
You don't know how to apply bodmas.

The right answer is 6. It's just like saying 3+(3*3)-(3+3)=3+9-6=6.
It's just a mental sum
You need to relearn bodmas. It can never be 6. The right answer is 12.

understand this

B O D M A S

no bracket, no division whats next? lets do the multiplication.

3 + (3 x 3) - 3 + 3

3 + 9 - 3 + 3

So whats next lets do the addition

12 - 6 = 6

the answer is 6
In Mathematics you don't add brackets by yourself except the bracket already exist in the question. The answer is 12. You need to relearn how to apply bodmas.

Are you for real? How did you arrive at 6? Did you recently discovered any new rules of BODMAS? And then you called someone an OLODO?

We can now officially tell where Nigeria is headed.

To make mistakes is normal. To accept being wrong is also normal. But to be arrogantly, relentlessly refusing to acknowledge one's wrong, in the face of the obvious, is grossly abnormal.

I can the reason 61% of candidates failed the last WASC. BODMAS means u solve any arithmetic problem by following this sequence: brackets Of division multiplication addition subtraction.
The problem is 3+ 3*3 - 3+3.
To solve this using BODMAS the O is also multiplication. Since there are no brackets, Resolve the next operation which is O.
3 + (3*3)- 3+3

3+ 9- 3+3
A is the next operation. A stands for addition. However, you will not perform the first add operation, you will perform the next addition
3 +9 - 6
In the next iteration, apply BODMAS again
A comes before S

12 - 6

Perform the subtraction

6

It's very confusing, but when you master BODMAS very well, you understand better.

The answer is A, 18.... Why?, they dnt expect u 2use any BODMAS, de only expect u to simplify from left to right. I.e 3+3*3-3+3
First add 3+3=6
Next multiply by 3, I.e 6*3=18
Then subtract 3, I.e 18-3=15
Then add 3..... 15+3=18..... Tnk yu all
How can you add before multiplying?

What's the op waiting for after 16 pages on NL. The answer is 18. See how:
3+3*3-3+3
In maths, a bracket is introduced where you have the multiplication sign. So
(3+3)*3-3+3 = 6*3-3+3.
Let's introduce another bracket to have:
6*(3-3+3) =6*3 = 18.

Bro,
do me a favour and look up to addition rules in maths and multiplication rules in maths.

-3+3 is still =(-3)+(+3)......(addition rules)=0

it is wrong to say -3+3= -6....... it can only be -6 if it is -3(+)-3=... -3-3
peace.
