olu4life. God bless you bro. happy birthday. may God grant all your heart desires in Jesus name. Amen

softandmoist and Caracta. God bless the both of you. You've been a blessing.

i am so happy to read that there is still hope in one of the eyes. i believe that the medical team can do their own part and God will perfect the rest.

cc: Caracta - Regarding the eyedrops, i can relate to the pain and discomfort tomiwa is going through. some of those eyedrops are so 'bad' that after application, one can get runny, watery eyes that sting for a few hours. however, i must say that THEY DO WORK if used consistently as prescribed.

its either it is explained to Tomiwa calmly and lovingly that the drops will help his eyes and also offer him some treats for each successful application or the drops will have to be forcefully applied until he gets used to them. its a case of having two adults with him - one holding his legs and arms while the other forces his eyes open and applies the drops and also ensure he doesnt wipe them off (sounds cruel but tough love is needed here).it is also important to have him lie down immediately after the application of the eyedrops to ensure maximnum absorption.

his recovery is going to involve regular use of eyedrops and he might even be on them for life. so he needs to understand from now the importance of the meds.

Re forcing the eyedrops, ive told the mum to be careful cos she is pregnant and we dont want the little boy kicking her in the stomach by accident
Unfortuantly the father works away from home so its just her to administer the drops
The petting and bribing should be the first option and only if that doesnt work, then she may need to get neighbours to help her, but lets pray that Tomiwa co-operates
The poor little boy has been through much already. Bless him.
I will call her later today to see how she got on with it.
It is well

Thank you everyone.

That is actually the best method though, exact thing they did at LUTH when they were running out of time. Just that the mum is pregnant, and d dad isnt around 247, the idea of sweet talking/pampering him will be better sha.

Ooh madam tearoses don talk sef, lol. Thanks taryour for the contribution. God bless u richly grin

What's the dosage of the eyedrops? Can the dad not help administer the drugs before he leaves for work? The pregnant mum can't do it alone oooo....

The dosage is just a drop in the morning and evening. About the dad aspect, he wont be available everyday, think he stays where he works and comes home weekends, not too sure though cos he is barely around.

Like Edwife I want to know when funds would be required..

I have the old TEHN PayPal account details is that still valid? or is there a new method of payments.

Just to say God bless you to all those who have taken it upon themselves to spare the time, know how and resources to help this little boy and his family. You are indeed a blessing. Tomiwa is also my sons second name so a kind of soft spot for the lil boy already.

me na all the security for hospital dem go call before I take one injection when my dad was not there. Cos my mum and the nurse no get the power wey I get. I remember there was a time I escaped out of the hospital sef. I still hate needles till today thank God one rarely gets injections for common ailments in the UK.

God has paid me back in my own coins cos my children are like that too and I dread nothing more than having to administer all those 4 hourly doses when they are poorly.

Awww I can so feel the poor boy. But its for his own good. Getting the neighbours to help is a good idea.

Actually, Tomiwa is one strong kid. When I called his mum this morning, I heard voices and all that...lot of struggling with Tomiwa crying seriously. I asked her what the problem was and she said it was the eyedrop issue.

The woman is pregnant. If we don't want Tomiwa to kick the baby out, we may have to change approach. Maybe sweet-talking is better.

I really feel for the boy. He is probably getting tired of all the eye drops, tests and medications.
