I don't care wat the people who benefit from this scholarship are saying. True fact is NDDC is full of shit. They give merit base a scale of 10 & connection 90. During my undergrad in the UK, many benefits were not worthy of the scholarship as most can't even speak pidgin talk more of english. It should be the best and promising applicants, not some poo favour. Compare developed countries scholarship n this NDDC. All scholarship worldwide are granted to the best applicants dats y foreign scholarship like commonwealth are so merit. U fail such n knw dt yes u do not deserve it. And for the records I got 2 foreign scholarships so not hating on them selected peeps.

@csimms dongreat is my childhood friend n what he is saing is true. Infact he was the one who encouraged me to try the nddc scholarship but ryt nw i feel i shouldnt have wasted my time on it cos the whole process is a farce. I blieve its juz like giving credence to a medium with which politicians settle some of their cronies as of all the many people i know who applied the only 3 who got the scholarship had somebody pulling a few strings here and there. If some of the successful pips msc candidates here will be truthful, they can confirm what i am sayin. Juz sayin tho

I stand to disagree with you. I got d scholarship and I don't know a soul in NDDC or in government. U didn't get it by merit doesn't mean others didn't. I applied last year and didn't get it, I tried again this year and was successful.

Quit with this childish and classless attitude of trying to rub salt in the wounds of those who weren't successful. Its either your parents didn't do a good job at bringing you up or you were a poor learner. I'd advise that you concentrate on sorting out your travel papers and facing your studies when you get there. Let me come down to your level a bit: Getting the scholarship is no guarantee you will finish your program or finish it in flying colors or even get a good job with whatever degree you finish with. Learn to be humble and watch your language on faceless fora like this.

For the records, I finished my MSc in a top 10 University in the UK over five years ago. So don't think its a JJC like you who has never been to the UK or Europe replying your comment.

Bro your points are well placed but u shud not hv involved his parent. He is clearly one of the favoured cos his response to me early showed his level of exposure. I have no regret saying it as I hv proof of the shady scheme "10% merit, 90% connection". My advice to peep dt were not successful is pls try foreign scholarship for developing countries if u meet the criteria. U do not need a high council chief or a senator just ur correct documents

For the fact u got it (whether by merit or not) does not in any way invalidate the claim that the selection process was flawed, u won't say u performed better (cbt, interview or composure) than all those that were unsuccessful. It is either u were just lucky to be among the merit-based 10% (according to dongreat) or u have an insider simple, so don't pretend u don't know what we are talking about and don't try to make mockery of the unsuccessful ones because u were successful. In as much as I was not successful am still very happy for the selected few but I just pray that this country may one day begin to reward hard work. Once again congratulations to the successful ones.

Point of correction, I didn't get it by luck. Its by God's favor and hard work. I scored 43/50 in the CBT and did well in d interview plus God's favour on me. I don't claim to know it all. Its just my set time to be favored. Im not mocking anyone but just clarifying that not everyone that was successful had an insider. Don't take it personal please.

We are saying the same thing 'God's favour' and 'luck' are same thing at least of the expectant multitude God chose u to be among the successful few, that's luck? What am trying to say is that the successful few (xpecially merit-based) is just by God's favor and not really because they were the best. Once again congrats to Miss(Mrs) Sleeksylvia am happy for u.

You've responded as a human being but I don't believe the lie of 2 international scholarship and if there's any truth in it then he's as bad as the NDDC fraudsters he so hates and despises for wanting extra scholarship funding.

That said, bros the Nigerian factor of connections is still prevalent and I don't deny it, one question is, if you had someone, wouldn't you attempt to pull same strings? Does that make it right or wrong? You be the judge. If I had someone Id sure as hell inform the person.

On another hand, a lot got it on merit, do we then totally discredit everybody? Do you get my point? You don't tear a system down because it didn't favour you. If he'd got it, we wouldn't hear this rant and rave.

I asked a friend, why is it that when you ask someone for something and they accept to do it, you don't ask why but then a lot of people when they ask you for favours and you say ok, they still don't ask WHY!!!

I'm not bashing your friend but criticise constructively and not because you feel hurt.

Guy, you are an IRRE!!! Simple and short. Because you didn't finish in flying colors or you remain jobless doesn't make any of our destinies entwined with yours.

Your parents did neither of the aforementioned in your statement and you are obviously a poor learner cos if you were remotely smart or the Europe you claimed to have studied in didn't teach your manners then your life is still yet to be sorted.

What ever brought parents into this? You lack respect for your parents.

On the otherhand, talking about JJC, for the purpose of this, Id accept I've never ever traveled but considering you have done that, I'm trying to see how its bettered your life. For us wey neva travel, make we travel go see you hear!

Well.... just in case you ported your sim like most of us did because of the craziness associated with re-registration at mtn centres, then you may want to call Gideon and be sure about things.

I ported my mtn sim to glo and considering that bulk SMSes don't deliver to ported sims, I made that call and found that I'm actually on the list.

This is not in anyway intended to raise false hopes; I'm sharing because I genuinely believe some one might benefit.

Congratulations to those who were successful. To those who weren't, I feel your pain. I know the exact feeling I had when I opened this thread and found that people had received SMSes but I had not. In those times, I consoled myself that other opportunities would always come.

Moving on can be tough, but having something to look forward to makes it easier. I know that PTDF which has an even better package is out, common wealth and also chevening. A guy posted a link here for scholarships in Australia. Focus on these along with some self-development schemes and you just might find that not having your name on that list was in some weird way, a blessing in disguise.

Stay blessed!!

I think is time we move on... I wish everyone well, for the scholars please jack well and do not go to catch fun with your life... Msc is neither a child play nor a party.. If anyone influenced his/her way to get to the briefing stage and he/she is not a book warm such person we get it tough over there in Uk in terms of grade by the time such person have terminal grade not even mphil then he/she will look back, had I know will be the story of such person.. Some Msc applicant behave childlike in this forum you can never see any one that want to go for phd in such shoe... Is not by you getting the scholarship that matter.. go get the best result and don't disgrace our nation just as your brothers did in uk because they influenced their way... Please be focus don't be happy because you got the scholarship and other didn't got it.. Is not a yardstick that you're beta than others.. Good luck and go get Phd grade...

I've been mindful of what I say on this post bros, I think the advise should be best suited to some other person(s).

We had a banter and someone starts mentioning parents and you didn't bother pointing that out?

I've apologised for my response because Im really not that type of person but you pointing me out for criticism is plainly unfair.

Id fight for anybody, that's the kind of person I am, we have tried a lot of things and put in the best of our efforts but if it doesn't yield results we move on. My main issue is that the way nddc has been bashed, it's painful with respect to some of us who got it through hard sweat.

I read back to back for mine, didn't even know they had a practice material during my time, it was at the exam center I saw some dudes using it. Is the system all fair, Id be irrational to say yes but then do we criticise everyone who got it? I say everyone because some people say only 10% got it fairly that means basically everyone who's a recipient doesn't merit it just because they didn't get it. It doesn't make sense if we will be honest with ourselves.

I had a 2.2 from FUTO, studied Elect/Elect Engr, I have done numerous certificate courses in the field where I'm going to do my masters and this is not me blowing my horn but then when I see a post of 90% getting it be connection it makes me wonder why people actually think they are better than others. So does that mean if they'd got it, that the system is fair?

Check my past posts even from the past forum, I'm an agreeable person and you'd only have to meet me in person or ask people who have interacted with me.

I feel hurt some don't get it justly but then we can be matured with our approach. Last year when I went for our briefing, I asked th question why the list isn't published online and they gave an answer that we all accepted be it right or wrong, be mindful I was a recipient but I asked still.

Anyways, I've apologised and not because I feel otherwise concerning my stance but because of the words I used on people who I really know nothing about.

I'll always say like I've said before, do I think the process is entirely fair? NO! Do I think the percentage who got it fairly is way way greater than the stipulated 10%? YES! Thousands wrote it, only 210/220 will be selected, it's God's favour first and of course your input that can see you through but my getting it doesn't in anyway make me feel like I'm the smartest ass out there, I just felt thankful and grateful I got it.

Bros I'm from Ogwashi. Daalu bros. Adim very sorry.
