edo is one and libral. Evidence it voted for pdp president and apc governor, house of assembly. The only reason why edo and the SS concur to an extent with igbo is on gej, but to loose EDO OR SS lands to igbo. The SS resist that, when the real war comes. Ths is just mere noise of biafra attempting to secced SS LAND

Edo was simply used to complete SS, Edo is geographically and culturally not SS.

Take a look at the Nigerian map below and notice that Edo is no where near the Delta of River Niger. Also notice that the Northernmost parts of Abia and Imo are more southern than the southernmost part of Edo.

Edo is more like a SW or Northern state, and is in no position to speak for the SS.

Op u got it all wrong. Biafra involves all igbo speaking people. So if biafra is formed today we will ask the igbankes (in edo state) to join.

Another thing we are not going to force anyone to join us. We will not allow any one who wants to go with us to be left behind. As for the Bini esan and etsako people they have always been with the yorubas so we don't care about them. Peace out.

This is really irritating.. Edo people as a whole don't side with Yorubas. You're painfully ignorant. Edos are neutral and don't really care for either Yoruba or Igbo to be honest. And even if some are friends with Yoruba, it is out of genuine friendship and not because of political allegiance. You people always try to make everything political.. so if I befriend a heap of Yoruba men tomorrow, automatically all Edo people are aligned with Yoruba? SMH ignorant mofo.

Yes as long as they speak igbo they are biafrans.

Secondly as long as they were in the formal eastern region they are biafra.
Though only those who wish to join will be allowed to.
but Delta and edo were formally part of old western region and I ve never see where odua nation want to force them to form a country with them, but Biafra is hell bent on forcing edo and Delta of today despite not part of old eastern region.

Honestly Igbo need go and make their Biafra and shut the helll up. You have the economic fire power, you have the industriousness, so go ahead and get out. And to the flat headed fools who think that Edo people are willing slave masters to Fulanis and Yorubas, well you're wrong because as we speak, the Edos are fighting for their own independent nation as well. Should have had our known nation anyways, but the British ruined things.

Why is Edo so eager to attach to SS?

Geographically speaking, Edo is SW not SS, as we can see from the map of southern Nigeria that the Northern most of Abia and Imo are more southern than the southernmost part of Edo.

Further more, Edo is not Niger delta, it has no riverine culture, no access to the Atlantic and is no we're close to River Niger, let alone the Delta of River Niger.

So, the big question is? Why is Edo running away from its real geographical location which is SW and clinging unto the SS?

Edo is culturalmy more related to SW, they share the Oba title and the Oduduwa story with the SW. Why then is Edo gravitating towards SS instead of SW?

Could it be that Edo is parasitic and want to attach to SS crude oil wealth by fire by force?

What exactly is wrong with Edo?

if this works ur assessment about region,go back and check that same map.......is delta not also within the geographical location of the Western region.....does it fall to south east??

We as Edo have the right to say the BIAFRAS should leave our SS REGION alone

First of all there is nothing like SS REGION, what there is is SS geopolilitical zone which was created during the regime of president Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida alongside other zones. What we had were 3 regions (North, West and East) before the fourth was added which was the midwestern region.

If you think Edos have a right to say the Biafrans should leave the SS Zone then the Biafrans have the right to tell Edos and any other to leave the defunct Eastern Region alone. If you have to lay claim to anywhere it's your midwestern region. So stop being hate filled, Biafrans have no business with you and where you come from. And by the way who made you the mouth piece for the entire SS zone? Goshhhh! many are gonna have heart failures when a referendum is conducted and they see the result.

Edo state and Edo people! You are not part of the Biafran project and you are not wanted! Edo state can never be part of Biafra except for the small Igbo speaking Igbanke people. So what are you Edo people bothered about when Biafrans have already told you people that you are not wanted? This OP is talking the SS region, the same SS region that is not even recognised in the constitution. Some people don't seem to realise that the so called regions, the SW,SE,SS are just terms the Abacha Government came up with for economic planning. The regions have no legal standing in Nigeria. All of a sudden, an Edo man is claiming to be brother with an Oron man because an unconstitutional region. The same unconstitutional region is why someone thinks that Igboland ends in the SE. This thread is stupid

now i understand what ths biafra talk is abt. Biafra nt only want its emigrants who speak the corrupted version of igbo and have more origin with their new origin in the course of evolvment, biafra also want to carve out oil lands of these emigrants that belong to the occupant origin states,Trust me that would neve happen, its a big joke, the only reason u hearing biafra its becos the SS felt it stood by gej. When the real struggle( SS LANDS) comes SS itself would never secced its land to igbo. And nt to forget the yoruba or hausa race even as presidents would never allow that. That may be another civil war, and i guess thats the reason igbos havent been trusted as president
You think deep, that is exactly the point I always ponder about. They want to claim the land their emigrants settle to the detriment if the original settlers or "owners" of the land. If Yoruba nation breaks away from Nigeria, do they have the right to claim Warri? just because the Itsekiris (who speak and bear Yoruba names) who are a sub group of the Yoruba claim Warri as their land. Will they carve up Kogi, Edo, Deltas states too because you find Yorubas there? Will they also carve up Benin Republic, Togo, cote d ivorie too? The issue is that we have intermingled so much through marriage and migration that so many sub groups that spring up from the main tribe is made up of "union" with other tribe(s). In the event of breakup of Nigeria, the worse that would happen is that all tribes migrate to their ancestorial lands. If the Biafrans want any land in the SS just because their people live there, their people will have to migrate back to the original 5 SE states if they even want to be known as biafrans.

OP forget these Biafra goats and these annoying Yoruba people. Let's focus on making Edo State great. Let's focus on making Edo State a paradise. I really want to make big big developments in Edo State in the next 5 to 10 years so I don't want to be bothered by other groups' annoying behavior. Instead, we should work on building great infrastructure in the state and major attractions.

Nwanne, you have raised pertinent questions that have to be answered by Edo people.

On another note, Oshiomole attacking Okonjo-Iweala has not helped the Edo cause at all because both the SS and SE peoples are observing how an Edo monkey lookalike has opted to be the attack dog slave of the North in undermining a fellow southerner.
Arase is gradually becoming very visible in the anti south radar

So Oshiomhole automatically becomes the only voice for Edo people abi? Man honestly like I've said you people should get on with it and create your damn Biafra already. We then can recreate the Benin Kingdom and others can go as the wish. Afterall, Nigeria was forced to be a nation and we really don't have much in common anyways.

Its quite pathetic on the paths these anti Igbo Edoids take...forgetting that the SS is an unwieldy bunch of tribes.
Moreover, the SE Igbos are surrounded on three sides by the SS..and these three sides has SS Igbos occupying two of them. grin
Asking Cameroon to expand its South Western borders to the river Cross would be highly appreciated by them, and making alliances with the Mmoño and Izons would leave the loudmouthed Edoids hanging... not talking sef about our military offensives that would seize the Igboid areas and establish a naval foothold at opobo.

Anyway as a military strategist,am just thinking aloud.. undecided

we biafrans don't want Edo to start with the should remain in Nigeria

South South will Form Niger Delta republic not Biafra. Biafra is for south east ONLY

South South is almost 3 times the size of south East.
Yet the population of South east is almost 80% of south south population base on 2006 census. But by the time you add igbo who are currently leaving outside south east, you will discover that thier population is more than all the south south put together. More than 90% of the resources (oil, gas, limestones, etc) are in the south south. The whole of South East is landlock with no direct access to the sea or atlantic ocean. but almost all the south south states have direct assess to the sea and atlantic ocean. Some will say they have River Niger. River Niger is not a sea or an ocean for big Ships.

Tell me why South South Nations will want to form a country with south east if they have a choice ? all south east will bring to the table is population and domination? The total oil production from south east is not up to 10% of south south oil production!

if Nigeria will divide peacefully by United Nations referendum, south south will not join Biafra. Peaceful division of Nigeria can only be into a minimum of five countries (Arewa republic, Niger Middle belt, United Niger Delta, Oduwa republic, and Biafra). South South will form its own nation/nations. The only way south south and south east will form a single country like Biafra is if Nigeria divide by War because population will be important in size of Army.

a quote from Isaac Adaka Boro Autobiography (wriiten himself). Read Chapter 5 - Campus Politics
http://www.adakaboro.org/the12dayrev/chapter-5-campus-politics.
This was the campaign statement of his opponent for UNN SUG presidency:

"My opponent, Ejiogu, took the floor when I had finished, and what did he say? "Ladies and gentleman, this is a crucial time in Nigeria when we should not allow a vocal minority to rule an obvious majority.
These words still ring in my memory because, as my opponent put it, they are crucial not only to me but to my people, the Ijaws. Most of the alien students walked out of the hall and it seemed as if a spell was cast on the atmosphere. The campaigns ended solemnly and the result of the election was again one way. Ejiogu won with his majority. The last minute strategy. A Cameroonian friend of mine, John Ngole, promptly resigned his secretaryship of the Historical Society in protest."

I always tell people that the edos and the yourobbers are the same people and I have reasons for that. The edos and the yourobbers are the only demented monkeys that hates the Igbo in Nigeria. They (Edo+yourobber) don't want the Igbo to unite with their cousins (SS) they are the bringers of hate, division and jealousy. 99.9% of anti Biafra threads are being created by Edos and yourobbers. They have the same mindset and they share many things in common. The edos and yourobbers are fond of speaking for the SS as if they are their mouthpiece which they are not. My candid advice to these deranged monkeys and baboons (Edo+yourobber) is for them to join hands together and seek for the actualization of oodua republic (since they share things in common) and stop playing god for the entire SS.

Edo is south south. Every edo man and woman has more right to talk about the future of south south than any foreigner or imposter from Imo, enugu, abia, anambra or ebonyi.

Urhobo, isoko, itsekiri, Ikwere etc all trace thier history, origin and culture to Benin empire.

South east are foreigners when it come to south south affair.
