Ahmed Musa made it six goals in 11 games in the Russia Premier League this season when he found the net for CSKA Moscow as they defeated city rivals Dynamo Moscow 2-0 away.

Ideye Brown broke his duck for Olympiacos, bagging his first goal for the club in their 2-0 triumph away at PAOK Thessaloniki. The forward had previously gone five games without finding the net.

Imoh Ezekiel, by contrast, is still to find the net for Anderlecht. He drew a blank again on Sunday—despite playing for 65 minutes—as the Belgian giants drew 1-1 at home against Mechelen.

Anthony Ujah’s scoring record of two in eight for Werder Bremen this season is not quite as impressive, and the forward again drew a blank on Saturday as his new club fell to a 1-0 defeat away at Hannover.

Injury knocks out new DRC star against Nigeria

DRC at this year's AFCON where they finished third
Injury has knocked out DR Congo latest star Paul-Jose Mpoku from Thursday’s friendly against Nigeria in Belgium.
Chievo Verone of Italy winger Paul-Jose Mpoku, who is on loan at Belgian Standard Liege, has switched allegiance to DRC after representing Belgium at youth level.
The injury will keep the 23-year-old forward on the sidelines for at least two weeks.
The player, who was at a time at the Tottenham Hotspur Academy, has scored a goal in two appearances for DRC thus far.
He made his DRC debut in March, scoring against Iraq in the UAE.
Already, DRC will not be led by head coach Florent Ibenge for Thursday's friendly in Belgium with a make-shift coaching staff named in his place.

Ya you are right dear. But for the fact that Nigerian blood still flows through his veins, it may not be out of place completely, for the Nigerian Journalists to be sentimental when he is still classified as a Nigerian. Though strictly speaking he might not be.

Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi has said he is delighted with a new Arsenal deal and hopes to soon be playing regularly for ‘The Gunners’ first team.
Iwobi, 19, has been rewarded with a new long-term contract by Arsenal after being one of the stars of the London club’s U21s.
Iwobi, who is on national team duty with Eagles in Belgium, has been with Arsenal since primary school day.
“I'm delighted to have signed a new contract, especially with a club like Arsenal who are so big,” he told Arsenal.com
“I'm happy to sign for them.
“I like to think I have earned it. I have gone through a lot with Arsenal so to have a new and improved contract is very good and I'm happy to have earned it.
“I have had ups and downs. As I was growing up I had a lot of downs but as I get older things just keep getting better and better.
"The ultimate goal is to break into the first team and play as many games as I can.”
Iwobi scored his first goal for Arsenal main team in July against Lyon in a friendly and had another disallowed a couple of minutes later.

Oshaniwa: I’ll Soon Make Super Eagles Return

By James Agberebi:
Hearts of Scotland defender, Juwon Oshaniwa, has expressed optimism that he will be back playing for the Super Eagles soon.
Oshaniwa, who joined Hearts in August from FC Ashdod of Israel, last played for Nigeria 11 months ago. He was part of the team which drew 2-2 with South Africa last November and narrowly failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Oshanowa told Edinburgh Evening News that he has been in contact with Nigeria Football Federation officials who have assured him of getting back into the team.
“People from the national team, from the management board, have been in contact with me,” he said. “They have been talking to me so I’m not disturbed. They said: ‘Just keep doing your stuff, it’s not as if you’ve been forgotten. You will always be reckoned with when the time comes.’ That keeps me strong.
“I will keep doing what I know how to do. You can see every time I’m on the pitch, I’m on there giving 100 per cent. I will keep doing this and see what the future holds for me. At any time, any moment, I’m always ready.”
Oshaniwa has been in fine form since joining Hearts, playing regularly in the Scottish Premiership.
He was a member of the Eagles 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad. And was also part of the team at last year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Chikatara Keen To Shine After Late Home Eagles Call-Up

By Johnny Edward:
Abia Warriors FC hat-trick hero Chisom Chikatara is eager to impress handlers of the home-based Super Eagles team after being drafted in to replace Godwin Obaje ahead of Nigeria’s 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Burkina Faso in Port Harcourt on October 18.
Obaje according to reports has gone for trials with an unnamed club in the Middle East and Chikatara was promptly called up as replacement for the Wikki Tourists striker.
The 20-year-old who has netted 13 league goals so far this season told Comple tesportsnigeria.com his call was a surprise for him following his heroics against Rangers over the weekend.
"I'm happy with this and I hope to impress the coaches to make the final squad," Chikatara told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.
Chikatara also noted that Abia Warrior worked hard enough to grab all the three points at stake, but lamented that fate played a fast one on them as Rangers equalised to make it 3-3 during the second minute of the added three minutes in the 92nd minute.
He added: "We were unlucky to have lost two valuable points from the game but I believe we have learnt lessons of how to seal up games with seconds remaining."
The return leg fixture with Burkina Faso comes up in Ouagadougou on October 25.

Sunshine Coach Dares Pillars Despite Eagles Absentees

By Adeboye Amosu:
Sunshine Stars coach, Kennedy Boboye, says the club can cope with the absence of three of their key players in the Glo Premier League match day 33 clash against champions Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Three of the Owena Waves players, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Paul Onobi and Prince Aggreh, will miss the clash as they will be on international duty with the Super Eagles.
Boboye however revealed to Comple tesportsnigeria.com that he has other quality players that can stand in for their colleagues.
"It's a good thing that the players are getting international recognition," the former Sharks coach told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.
"It's a sign that we have quality players in this club.
"We are not panicking about the situation as we have capable replacements for the three players."
Sunshine Stars lost 3-0 to Warri Wolves last weekend and another defeat to Pillars could ultimately end their slim chance of winning a first league title.

NFF disappointed over visa hitch for Belgium friendlies

NFF chief Anyansi disappointed
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have expressed disappointment officials and six players from the domestic league have still not been issued entry visas to Belgium ahead of Thursday’s friendly against DR Congo.
Nigeria will also play another friendly against Cameroon also in Belgium on Sunday.
NFF technical committee chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu said the association are shocked by the lack of co-operation from the Belgian embassy in Nigeria.
“We are shocked beyond words at the attitude of the Embassy of Belgium in Nigeria. This action is a strange one in international sports. Football preaches and spreads peace and love, but we are taken aback at the attitude of the Belgian embassy in Nigeria,” blasted Anyansi.
Anyansi-Agwu, who as chairman of Enyimba FC has traveled the world in the course of football in the past 15 years, lamented the action that threatens Nigeria’s preparation for the two matches.
“This attitude of the Embassy of Belgium in Nigeria is not known to international sports. Our team’s preparedness for the only preparatory games ahead of the beginning of FIFA World Cup qualifiers has been unduly hampered. The team's medical crew and other critical backroom staff are held back in Nigeria.
“This action is not just against a Football Federation; it is against an entire nation.”

Krattoss so you are even supporting the NFF or Coach Sunday Oliseh. Osaze Odewingie did worse than this but most football stakeholders did not only clamour for his inclusion in the national team, the also forced him on Stephen Keshi. Same as Ikechuku Uche and mos of our former stars, Coach Sunday Oliseh Inclusive.
Sunday Oliseh is just acting a scrip written and directed by the NFF. You know, since the fallout between Vincent Enyeama and NFF during that careless comment he made concerning the match venue in Kaduna, the NFF has been looking for one insignificant wrong from our 'JESUS IN GOAL' to pay him back. Come to think of it. What kind of message is the NFF passing out to our foreign born players whom most NFF MEMBERS WORSHIP AND WOULD BE READY BEG IF GIVEN ANY OPPORTUNITY, TO COME AND PLAY FOR THE S.E?
Or has the one time good performance of Carl Ikyeme in that friendly match meant that V. Enyeama is no longer needed in the national team. If I were Enyeama, I wouldn't honour those two friendlies, I did rather mourn my mum.
This guy has served us with the whole of his heart and doesn' deserve this kind of treatment, full stop.

Boyyyyyy!!!!!!! Can't believe what I'm hearing. I heard the matter has ebbed down a bit. Reports say "there was a kind of "election" that took place and Ahmed Musa was picked as Captain. Vincent, still bereaved with the passing away of his mom, got upset when he found out and started throwing tantrums. It got so much that Oliseh, the head coach ordered the security to kick Enyeama out of the team's camp area".

This is sad... But thank God things have calmed down a bit and is near settlement.

I wonder when the "captaincy" of the Super Eagles became a "heated battle"...... Or could there be something more to this?

This is a distraction ahead of the friendlies. A really bad one. I hope the team put this episode behind them.

Yep this is why we have so little no respect for our greats.

So now we know the whole super eagles are on drugs why should there be a vote anyways? The coach is supposed to make that call by himself. This is like Italian players having an election and ousting Buffon.

Oh my God! Election? When did d super eagles captaincy become a political post where a captain is been elected?.. Oliseh has just disappointed me. Does he know what his doin? D kinda rift this one can cause no be small o. By d way this is africa not south america where a young new player can come in n take d leadership role(e.g Neymar) u know how much we value respect here in africa. Musa should drop d captain band since d elders don show up.
NFF come do something o...

I personally think that u are biased.
How on earth will a player dare question a decision of a coach on who to Captain the team?
Coaches decides who plays, who captains, cos he is the boss. Jose mourinho benched cassilas and striped him of the captaincy, notting happened..
At a time between terry and Wayne bridge saga, capello striped terry of his captaincy, heavens didn't fall.
So why the he'll should he cry a wolf over the decision of the NFF and olive, besides reporting late on camp. 101caps and then?
Isn't he been paid bonuses, is somebody not his boss?

At ur place of work do u question ur boss?

ABEGI, SAVE UR RANT FOR ANOTHER DAY.
I am no fan of undisciplined and insubordination.
