It's official, PayPal thinks my Diamond Bank Visa Dollar Debit Card wasn't issued in Nigeria

They just said that in their mail to me yesterday. I am shocked!!! I've told them to call Diamond Bank to confirm. Even Diamond Bank have doesn't know where the card was issued, when I mailed them PayPal said the card wasn't issued in Nigeria, they said they'll look into it

Sometimes I wonder why banks in Nigeria prefer to employ contract staff who they do little or no training for instead of employing staff that they'll train.

It might not go through if it is a dollar card.

I'm Adesida Olusegun who has bunch of experiences with PayPal and their platform since 2009.
Drop any issue/query you are having with your PayPal account(must be the one opened and registered
in your legal name) be it that of Nigeria and other countries like USA,UAE etc in here.

Note: I'm the busy type and please do not be pissed off if I attend to your issue a little bit late but I will surely do.

Keep them rolling in and please as well note that I might need to take you out of this thread if need be that your issue needs some kind of privacy.

I was able to add mine, check if you have up to the naira equivalent of at least $2 and make sure your billing address on the card is consistent with what you've provided on PayPal

Nothing. (stu.pid, right?) I was just adding it to see if it will work. I used a US IP free proxy on Firefox.

Make sure you change the PIN of the card on their ATM , load it with at least 3,000N.
Then using proxy is against PayPal T.O.S...You account will be banned.

hey guys, Let me share my paypal experience with you guys!

I needed to withdraw my earnings from elance and decided to open a UAE account, used my real name, my normal naija line and a random dubai address i got off the internet, subscribed for a vpn service, and voila i was on paypa'ls website opening a new account.

In 5 mins, I was done and linked the UBA Africard I had just gotten, for withdrawals as the UAE falls into the list of countries that can withdraw funds via visa cards

In no time paypal had withdrawn the equivalent of 1.95 usd from my account and I was set to withdraw my earnings from elance.

Client 1 paid me directly via Paypal, and I logged in like a boss to see if the thing will work....5 days later I got an alert!....money had entered the account!

2nd payment came in and I tried to transfer to Hisenjos to quickly access the funds, that was when my account was suspended and placed under review.

I came to find out later that an automated call came from Paypal trying to know if i had authorized the transaction, I saw the phone ring but did not pick.....If I had picked the call ,my account would not have been limited

the requirements they asked for were just too many.........

Payment invoices and other one I cant remember

That was when I went into paypal forums and started asking questions.....Long story cut short!, I found a pakistani guy who provided me with all the important documents(proof of address and utility bill) I needed....$30 per piece

I loaded 750 recharge card and called paypal's office again....explained everything, answered some questions and my account was restored. I have been flexing it since then

I opened another chilean account using different user account on my pc.....without issues

use a consistent IP address, if not get a dedicated vpn

I had a similar experience in August, I provided similar docs and my account was restored

Pls Mr Adesida. I have this paypal problem, i actually opened it as a US acct. but since i opened it, i have not been able to use it. either to fund it or use it for purchase online because i saw a place on my account where they wrote Unverified. but as against that, i have verified the account with any neccesary requirement when opening the acct.

The only way a USA account can show verified is one add bank account. Adding card,verifying phone and email won't do.

Did you add bank account then?
