Most Muslims and their way of thinking still remains a mystery to me. Visit the North and see children littered everywhere with little or no parental care. These little children are left on their own to fend for themselves (begging with their plates) at a very young age under harsh conditions.

This makes me think of a select few Muslims who are married to just one wife and have less than 5 children. Don't these set of Muslims employ birth control measures in their lives? Does their lifestyle weaken their faith as Muslims?


At the end of the day, it is these abandoned children on the streets that take up arms (after being bribed with some money) to kill other innocent people(of other faith inclusive) and destroy homes and properties on the request of a few disgruntled elements.

Hmmmm, the northern region has the highest number of uncared for kids. The number of Almangiris roaming their streets is alarming. Whew, this their silliness just brought back the horrible memory of how I used to cry in the mornings back then in Jigawa when I saw homeless kids hurdled up together sharing body heats with hunger written on their faces and hardship edged on their bodies.I remember how one stared into my eyes begging for more akara from the little I could afford to give them,those eyes... ..was actually referring to the Almajiri system, yes they reproduce like rats but have means to fend for them (except in war torn Islamic Countries) as such Islamic states provide funds which isn't the case in Nigeria

In China it's a child per family. If you want more you pay the government. Rich Chinese men even marry more than a wife.

I think 2 children per couple is fine for Nigeria. It'll imply those who wish to have more than one wife can only get a maximum of two children from each wife.

BTW, there's absolutely nothing wrong in marrying more than a wife, it is not just a rosy path as true Islam preaches and experience has shown. Multiple wives over adultery.

What sort of backward thinking is it? Women in Northern Nigeria already have it hard, they are being sold as wives to old men everyday. They have been stripped of their rights as human beings already.

The bulk of our problem in this country starts from parents having children they cannot care for. These children are being put to the street at a very young age to work, given as house-help, maltreated and abused daily. They in turn, grow up to be abusive and wicked just like how they were treated. Its an ugly cycle.

Islam views women as lesser beings anyway and I'm not shocked by their demands.
