In as much as we clamour for selfless service we shld know that these ministers have responsibilities and bills

They shld not serve their fatherland on hungry stomach

So far, has paying them, reps and senators huge sums for their own selfish services paid off Nigeria. Please support something different from the way it has always been... Be sincere, we havnt benefited from the way things have been handled by these highly paid and powerful individuals. Funny thing is that we empower them and then they treat us like slaves and subordinates..yet we idolize them and still wish they continue such lifestyle...
Mind you I support no party nor any individual... I support only my country!!!! And what these 'big' people have turned this country into is very sad and shameful

"Personal Assistant Allowance (25% of Annual Basic salary to enable you to employ a Personal Assistant of your choice).”

"Special Assistant, to be provided in kind"

So what is the shocking thing there? With all the plenty allowances aside the annual basic.

If the ministers can't do the job unassisted, there is no need employing them.

Haven't seen any change, still the same PDP regime things and lies every where.

You obviously can not read. Special assistance (in the case if an emergency or health issue) to be provided in kind. The context is much different

What is "Shocking" about this salary? You are only promoting Buhari with the caption or the headline of the news. All the salaries and allowances accrued to each ministers per month is well enough to set this country further backward. You are telling us that their salaries are shocking. Please hit the nail at the head and stop deceiving us

What do you expect from a man that doesn't see the need for a minister in the first place? cheesy

Now that APC controls the media, we should be expecting more "lies." But one thing is certain, if Nigerians are not convinced that they have gotten what they need in this govt, in 2019 a new party, maybe not PDP, will send APC packing

I am loving this grin..... Next on the list, senators, honourables and permsecs......let government work become not so lucrative and all the thieves will all run from politics, leaving only sincere minded and intelligent people to run the government.

Although I doubt this would curb, backdoor Ghana must go 'arranging', but we will see eventually, if it works.

Don't get me wrong I am not against bubu's cut costing decision. However let it be done not to harm the ministers motivation and will to deliver

If not for the lopesided nature of our country a minister that travels round the country is suppose to get more than senator and reps who mostly shuttle between their constituecy and Abuja. Baba shld remember the temptation to steal will come to these ministers.

Can someone add all the allowances and the basic salary to show the monthly and annual take home pay of a minister please? That will be the reality.

Look at you, what is there job self? When the perm secs. are the one doing most of the jobs.
I see u are one of them, now imagine what the ordinary workers are going through with petty #18,000 called minimum wage"amount less than $100"
Yet they will still owe them for 3~6months.
Anyone who is not satisfy with that should resign and go back to his/her job.

Whoever wrote this article is a complete nitwit. How does the personal life of the ministers affect the salary they are to earn? So because they pay $40,000 as school fees for their children, FG must raise their salary so they can maintain their extravagant lifestyle.
As far as im concerned this is a good development and it must cut across all sectors of the economy. It would be hard to touch the lawmakers earning, but that should be the next thing to be done. These idiots have the rights to sponsor an article condemning their earnings and they could not fight for 18,000 minimum wage to be increased...

Funny country that pays its civil servant 18k expects the man/woman to afford an accommodation, train his kids, feed himself, transport from satellite towns to the city centre cos the criminal politicians have bought all the the properties in town and then expect this civil servant to remain incorruptible. We know our problems but turn a blind eye to reality. You can't carter for your civil service well and the country is toying with d idea of paying 5k to 25million unemployed people to do what now? To be recharging their phones? Create the enabling environment for businesses to thrive, develop infrastructure and you will see how businesses will create this jobs

You seems to be getting it wrong. Not every worker can be a minister. Ministers have important role to play and you can just wish it away becos you want to cut cost
