Afam4eva: Afam, i used to have a huge respect for you, but I must say this, I am quite disappointed and disgusted by you POV on this thread. Boko Haram is a militarized sect that has set itself apart from the people. I can assure you that if Boko harams or muslims openly identify that they are boko haram, they would be shot straight. But can the same be said of IPOB? No! IPOB is dragging the whole igbos, the whole region with them. You are igbo, so you must be IPOB. If IPOB members are closing shop, any igboman that opens his shop would be harassed. So in essence, you are forced into solidarity with the movement. This is utterly foolish. They should set themselves apart like the Niger Delta militants and boko haram are doing and not drag igbos into a senseless war that we are not ready to fight. 13 Likes |

Abagworo: What type of idiotic crap is the above post? The IPOB and MASSOB have agitated for Biafra before and during the tenure of Obasanjo as president. The people who constituted IPOB have every right to agitate for Republic of Biafra. Nigerian police or armed forces have no pedigree to shoot unarmed demonstrators? The liver-hearted punks who rush to NL to lament about war are pure deluded. Why do you tell your friends in the Nigerian government to agree to secession or allow the Biafrans to leave the zoo called Nigeria. Nigeria is mere a colonialist creation and is subject to change at whims of the indigenous people of the areas that constituted Nigeria. 1 Like |

blocking roads, restricting movements, halting business activities and threatening violence against perpetrators isn't "peaceful". Deltagiant: 6 Likes 1 Share |

Millerz: Any peaceful demonstration in the world, mostly in the advanced countries, has seen to the roads are blocked, certain businesses are closed, movements are highly restricted and onlookers are usual threatened. In fact, warnings are posted by the local government instructing citizens to avoid certain areas of the cities during peaceful demonstration. 2 Likes |

Abagworo: You are still locked in the cocoon of yesteryears. Today is certainly not 1967. There is no need of talking war when USSR and many other European countries disintegrated without war. Nigerians are not fools or deranged animals that would want to fight a war because certain group of people wanted out of the silly union created by the colonialist. 1 Like |

Duru1: bloody liar. What do you know? Did you get police clearance for your 'peaceful' protest? or you heard that in well run countries, you are not required to get a clearance before protest. You just wake up and start protesting. 9 Likes |

Duru1: There you go again, fool. How do you subdue people with clubs and planks? Especially when they are in their thousands. Warning shots were fired in the air for them to stop advancing.....before that date, a stern warning was issued by the military.....a declaration copter had to be flown all round the city still to warn them off, but like zombies, their brains are already diseased with the biafran virus. You don't arrest thousands of people with clubs advancing towards you.....you shoot them to protect yourself. 9 Likes |

You cannot defeat an idea whose time has come. You defeat idea with a better idea. Till then, there won't be any realistic chance of stopping the Biafra movement. I guess Buhari is not so daft to understand that. Killing of 1 million people 45 yrs ago could not bury the idea. Maybe Buhari thinks that genocide can. Those Lagos-Ibadan press cheering him to use arm to subdue the protesters will be the first to abandon him when he's placed at Hague after many years of protracted civil war. Government should handle this with care. 1 Like |

Abagworo: op I sence the military will be called in soon an a state of emergency might be declared soon, the igbos can declare war with the Nigerian state, but please let it not reach the SS. I have heard a lot about the biafran war and I don't want a repeat, the igbos should realise they will be fighting the war alone without the south south like it was in the civil war 6 Likes |

you're wrong. Do you know that protesters usually inform the police about an impending protest and request a "protest permit" from the police dept before protesting?? A protest ceases to be peaceful when human rights are violated. Duru1: 4 Likes 1 Share |

Millerz: The IPOB protests in Owerri were permitted and escorted by police without attacking innocent people. When handled by miscreants movements usually end in disaster. I pray for my people. 1 Like |

I hope we will not witness the repeat of what happen in Chechnya in Russia when the Russian military was called in to end a secessionist movement that ended with more than ten thousand chechnyan death, the international community did nothing to russia, I urge my Igbo brothers to go into dialogue with the govt, when the government called in the military the international community will do nothing 5 Likes |

Rikidony: Then tell other Nigerians to protest. IPOB should continue and intensify the protest against this fraudulent and unprogressive Nigerian state. That is the only path to progress and justice. Violence is the only language the Nigerian state understands. |
