Look, i never had anything against the Biafran agitations itself, it is non of my business, but my quarrel is the methods they employ to go about it. Now, tell me how many media organizations - both main stream and social, would allow the level of insults, threats, intimidation and outright hate displayed by these Biafran agitators. They would ruin the integrity of that media organization in a short time. It got so bad that at one time most topics in the politics section were vulgar insults between Biafran agitators and other Nigerian tribes.

I repeat no other media organizations would take that nonsense. If they are really serious about using online media to promote Biafra, they should buy a domain, pay for webpage and host a website for such purpose. All Biafrans of similar ideas would use the site.

No other media organization? How did the Arab spring started? Wasn't it Twitter and Facebook. Seun is trying to censor NL too hard.

When the Senate proposed law to hold people accountable for what they post online, why did people fight against it? Seun may as well take us to North Korea where people can't express their opinion.

You said insults where exchanged between two sides, how does that affect NL? Is Seun trying to take responsibility for what these people decide to say to each other? Ain't there a statement at the bottom of NL that says every member is liable for his/words?

this shows that SEUN is a racist, why ban people promoting their belief in ur forum and moving those insulting them to FP?

You've cleared my doubt on exactly who u are, no wonder u claim a hidden session for Islamic beliefs but left others,

If you can't take the heat then don't be in the kitchen.

Your advisers are really misleading you or is it about the money? or fear of being told that you sin against a.llah by your brainwashing teachers?

what the fuc.k is yours if two people are exchanging words on your forum, when there is a disclaimer just remove the disclaimer so we can take u serious.

No natter how educated they seem, a mallam will always brainwash you, that's why you should be very careful of who teach you Koran, because it creates room for manipulation - Mallam Garuba Abdulrasheed

Without Western Education or without you being "self" civilized, Islamic belief is very vulnerable for terrorists to use in brainwashing and gaining followers - Mallam Umoru Shaibu

You can't keep pushing one to the wall and don't expect him to push back.

I love Nigeria and I want it to stand. But what I don't support is depriving people their right to express their feelings and desires.

Nairaland is a public forum, and banning of Topics related to Biafra or her movement is wrong. Very wrong!

They should be allowed conversation and argument as this will provoke the government to act fast. Bullying them into silence is savagery!

We are all pushed to the wall, Igbos are not the only one pushed to the wall. Kanuris feel pushed to the wall, Ijaws feel pushed to the wall, jukuns feels pushed to the wall, even the Okun recently felt pushed to the wall.

The right to express your feeling should be done with decorum, you do not express your feelings by disregarding and hurting the feelings of others. The Biafrans have been insulting the Nigerdeltans calling them senseless and stupid because the do not buy the Biafran idea, now what kind of right is that.

Biafran topics should be banned until the Biafran agitators learn to use intellectual arguments to support their agitation instead of violent language and threats. The problem is impressionable youths who can easily be radicalized to hate hausas, Yoruba and other Nigeria's and be turned into terrorist, the same way ISIS turn young impressionable Muslim youths into terrorists.

I understand you 100% bro. But I think you're looking at it wrongly

NL is privately owned and what the owner decides to do with it is his choice.

As for me. I'm not against biafra stuff as long as its done peacefully.

Hence I think he shouldn't have banned it completely. But warned against promoting hatred/violence in their campaign.

View it from this angle, there are more members who are not interested in biafra this biafra that , than those who look forward to biafra stuffs on this forum. but when the politics section is filled up with biafra topics almost everytime, with time many members interested in reading other news or political stories would be chased away cos they would always think nothing except biafra issues will be in the politics section. This is a loss to the owner of the forum. I believe biafra has its own forum but i dont think the traffic is up to half of what we have here. You can figure the reasons out by yourself. Seun another fact that u have not yet considered is that if a referendum is held today on Biafra, yoruba feeling counts for nothing.

Yoruba sentiment is not considered, understand that simple fact.

U can promote successfully anti Biafra sentiment to fellow yorubas, but wat are the Biafrans saying?

Do igbos share your sentiment? Will they be willing to listen when the factors driving the Biafra agitation have not changed?

Can u control twitter or IPOB Radio Biafrans forum? Will u still have any igbos here once that launch?

Seun if u want to know any of the answer, just see this thread to know Biafra is a hit and nairaland need Biafra.

On this forum, u can rebut some of their claim, it is balanced with the pro and cons.

If Biafra find an alternative platform and leave nairaland, then sorry.

A word is enough for the wise.
DUDE AM A NIGERDELTAN I DNT SUPPORT THE BIAFRAN SH*T, NAIRALAND IS A FORUM FOR EVERYTHING NIGERIAN, THE BIAFRAN AGITATORS HAVE DESTROYED THIS SECTION WITH THEIR HATE SPEECH,

IF YOU REALLY NEED UR BIAFRA GO TO THE UN LIKE THE PALESTINE'S ARE DOING AND LETS HAVE PEACE ON A NIGERIAN FORUM.

The tribes you've mentioned have chosen to remain silent. It is their choice, and not the business of Biafrans. Biafrans have chosen to speak out, and they have every right to as it is legitimate.

Saying all Biafran agitators insult any opposition is very unfair. I've seen a lot of Biafrans have a tantrum free conversation in this forum.
And some of the rest who spew tantrums were probably provoked to do so.

While some don't really get the idea or are too immature to discuss such issues.

Banning Biafra related topics is a threat to human rights. Violent language being used on Nairaland is not a thing of today. It has been there even prior to the recent Biafran protests.
I am not saying it should be condoned. I am saying it shouldn't be used as an excuse to muffle the Biafrans and their supporters!

If Seun doesn't like the violent Language being used, he should wake his mods up and make them punish anybody caught using violent language. And not to generalize the ban hence intimidating their rights.

You have comprehension problem, i was reffering to politics section, is it only politics section that NL has?. I am talking about politics section of the forum being bastardised with biafra topics, hence it loses appeal to many members which in effect, affects the owner. It's not a rocket science if you know how forum, blog owners earn their monies. My submission will only be illogical to ill-equipped minds.

It is privately owned but a PUBLIC FORUM. If he had made it a private forum for him and his family and friends it wouldn't be big as this, and nobody will be here protesting in the first place.

He owns Nairaland but he is not Nairaland. Without the people in this forum, there will be no such thing as Nairaland, hence he must respect the interest of it's members.
