As long as there are things like "indegene", "non-indegene", "quota system", "catchment areas", "zoning" "state of origin" etc associated with Nigeria we can never be really united. There is way too many ethnic groups.

The hatred we have for each other can not allow us progress. If we can't get past these then:

Nigeria should be happy to let Biafra be created. Let Oodua Republic be created. Let the Niger Delta Republic be created. Let a Northern Caliphate be created. And anyone of any tribe can choose where they want to be part of.

The colonists merging us is the final blow before their departure. The religious difference and tribalism is killing us.

Oga, TonyeBarcanista is very correct in saying that when Ojukwu declared is Biafra, he was Governor of Eastern state that excluded Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross river. Old Rivers and Old Cross river were already created by Gowon.

In February 1966, when Isaac Boro, Sam Owonaro and Nottingham Dick alongside their supporters proclaimed a "Delta Peoples Republic", biafra was not included in the said republic. On 27 May 1967, under the administration of General Yakubu Gowon, decree No. 14 was issued, allowing the creation of Rivers State. Ojukwu's Eastern region at the time of "secession" did not include Ijawland or modern day SS area.

The good people of Niger Delta fought alongside gallant Nigerian soldiers to defeat the secessionists. My Gull, there is no need to try to revise history, though we have come to expect that from you.

If you and the likes of Kanu want to lead Igbo youths on another suicide mission, be rest assured that the people of the Niger Delta will fight you once again.
Funny, I almost thought you were yoruba or hausa. This kind of ur useless one Nigeria ideology is what Azikwe had, whr did it leaf us? The north has continously exploited and oppressed the south for too long and ur here talking like this... U better wake up n smell the coffee, thr is really nothing like one Nigeria and if the truth is told as it is, the most detribalised Nigerian is the igbo man, cos he likes to explore outside his territories and in doing so has to mingle effectively with all tribes. Ur comment betrays your repugnant hatred for igbos. Keep dreaming of fighting against people who just want a referendum. By God's grace biafra will be...

Very interesting comments you make. lol. How do you form Biafra without the South South? Have you looked at the map of Nigeria? How do you form a country within another country? Come to think of it are you sure Biafra is not in need of the oil the South South has to offer?

Sweetmelon, Look at how u foolishly displayed your deep seated hatred for a tribe that doesn't give a flying Bleep about you.. change your ways dear.

Back 2 d topic, I keep saying it that the argument Igbos make with our south-south neighbours about this biafra ish, makes it seem as if the igbos are desperately in need of them..

Fact is that Igbos don't need south-south to secede. Igbos have never needed them anytime in history, so pls stop giving them the avenue to feel important.

Cc: tonyebarcanista, sweetmelon, nduchucks and who ever cares to know, pls read my lips: "Igbos like me have never wished for any south-south state to be part of biafra if at all there is biafra in the future, the south-south has never been richer or more intelligent or hardworking than its south-east neighbour, so please we truly don't need the south-south, thank you!..

When the constitution gives them immunity, and their connection gives them protection, you want people to die fighting them, if there is a protest against them, Abuja will approve for mass shooting of protesters, someone like you will be asking why people are stupid to be marching on the street, that it would be better for them to stay in their houses and make do with what they can get out of life.

The fact is that the Igbo people have come to identify themselves with what Biafra symbolize. Considering events that happened in the history of our country, the Igbo people think Biafra is the solution for their problem with Nigeria. Even other tribes in the Old eastern region now identify with this ideology but silently for fear of unsettling the Federal Government. It is for this reason that the federal government will not easily support a referendum. As those tribes on the fence will easily vote YES to Biafra. But what is the REAL SOLUTION?
1. We should switch to regional/Provincial system [5 regions - West, East, Savanna, North West and North East]. This is because the current state structure is divisive, unsustainable, and does not promote economic cooperation.
2. Lets practice representative democracy where we will have
(a) Federal Governing council with five members one from each region with equal powers {No vice President}.
(b) Regional Governing Council where members come from each constituting state with equal powers. [eg: West with six states will have six members]
(c) Crap the NASS structure and create a People's council with each state providing 3 members [more like the current senate system].
3. Change the ideology of security/law enforcement agents to see citizens as stake holders and not enemies. Military personals on civic duty should be civil and appear on less military attire without GUNS [Guns are instrument of intimidation and you should not intimidate your citizens].
4. Constitutional reforms and international agreements should pass through a nation wide referendum. this makes the citizens involved and prevents mortgaging the country against the will of the people.

If all these are implemented, you will never hear of any secessionist movement from anywhere in Nigeria. Majority of Nigerians [Including Igbo people] want a strong, dynamic Nigeria that practice representative democracy and respects the wills and aspirations of her people.

And wasnt this largely d system we had in the 60's. The british left us a federal system. Each region had their admin units, their police, and their revenue. It could have bn improved upon. Not further unified. Who scrapped it? Maybe when u figure out dt answer u'll realize dt these set of pple are always after their own selfish interest & nothing else.

@OP you need to remove your mask. Ijaw and ALL ethnic nationalities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross river and Akwa Ibom are NOT and has never been Biafrans.

2. When Ojukwu declared is Biafra, he was Governor of Eastern state that exclude Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross river. Old Rivers and Old Cross river were already created by Gowon.

3. We(SS) fought against Biafra because it was Ojukwu and his majority Igbo backers project.

4. Biaffra is an Igbo agenda though I may agree that not all Igbos are pro-Biafrans, but majority are. #Fact

This is thrash....

Please go back to your history books again. Ojukwu was the Governor of the old Eastern region at the outbreak of hostilities against the Igbos and in order to divide our ranks, Gowon whom Ojukwu refused to recognise as head of state for his seeming complicity in the bloody coup and inability to protect lives attempted to carve out those States you mentioned out of the region.
Of course Ojukwu and your fathers agreed and collectively resisted it, but your fathers chickened out when it seemed things were no longer faring well with the war effort to wit, the liberation of Portharcourt et al.

Let it be well stated that Ojukwu did not unilaterally pull Eastern Nigeria out of Nigeria but held wide consultative meetings with your people before doing so. A certain Philip Effiong was his deputy throughout the war. Just ask your fathers to tell you the truth.

While not a supporter of the current agitation for Biafra, it nauseates me to see people like you turn history on its head. A little research and a bit of objectivity might help you, if you try.

All this argument back and forth as to why Biafra will not succeed is a waste of time.

Folks just giving instances where succession bids failed, deliberatley forgetting where they succeeded. That the Texans failed and continue failing in their bid to leave US does not mean Igbos can't leave Nigeria if they so wish. We are not Texans. We are IGBOS.

A simple referendum will put all this to rest. It is my sincere belief that majority of Igbos will want to leave Nigeria - if the opportunity ever comes.

Not that am pro-Biafran but we need to discuss without sentiments. The secession bid by pro-Biafra Igbos is a 50-50 situation. It could go either way. Its not like secession is impossible especially as some so-called powers want to divide Nigeria so desperately, for their own evil motives. Thats what their prediction of our dis-integration is all about. Biafra is beginning to get world attention. Its not by chance. It will get worse. If u don't want Nigeria divided, than pray to God, if u believe in Him. If u believe in positive thinking, then "positive-think" seriously. All this argument will solve nothing.
Truth is: Nigeria is being goaded to disintegration.

Below is the truth about Biafra......you are welcome to refute the facts below

Old Maps Show Biafra Was Actually In Cameroon And Never Part Of Nigeria

So therefore please port to Cameroon ASAP. Go get yourself a visa and a passport.

Another map from 1644 also puts “Biafara” solidly in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe and far from Nigeria’s furthest Eastern border. Apparently the prior name of the territory now called Biafra by this group was recognized and mapped as “Benin,” and never Biafra in all historic maps.

Origins Of The Name “Biafra”
According to Encyclopaedia britannica: a dictionary of arts, sciences …, Volume 11-12, year 1910 , the name “Biafra” from “Bight of Biafra, comes from the word, “Mafra,” a town in Portugal.

That, in a nutshell, is exactly why there has not been any Igbo President since forever, and the way things are going, for quite a while to come.

A charismatic leader like Fashola can mobilize a crowd. I need not talk about Buhari's ability to mobilize crowds. Heck, even GEJ has his passionate followers...

No charismatic leader from the SE with national appeal yet it's all too easy to lazily claim 'marginalization' for the reason why a SOuth Easterner isn't in Aso Rock.
