I'll run away from registry because, the laws are created by some bigoted heavy feminist! I'll not want a situation where I'll divide half of my money with someone whereby, I'm the only person that worked for it. I don't want to lose my house and my car and also pay monthly due to some lazy fellow... I strongly dislike to halved my retirement money with another person. These are my reasons... So, without the registry, I'm free of these and I can still do what I'm responsible to do...

Basically, this is what they are asking..

Wait.
Before we lamblast the Senators, I think we should ask ourselves this very vital question, '' Is it correct to say that the female gender or woman is the WEAKER sex? ''.
If your answer is yes, then I guess the Senate is right.
But if it's no, then......................... I think you must be from the USA.

I really dont know what these women want, they should first criticize their women leaders in the senate, who refused to support them.

I think this further proves that women dont like themselves, i mean look at girl trafficking, the middle men and facilitators in the business are women.

What have advocates of women rights done to librate millions of young girls in prostitution world wide/

absolutely nothing, just noise noise, noise. sad

Equality is not in anyway contesting the dynamics of a family, rather it will give every individual basic human rights and prevent violence and societal biases against the Female folks, how does this affect God's plan for the family?
Cos you came outta woman yansh means you should be yansh licker??What about the man's balls that produced you Or wasn't God that created women, so they be equal with God na

Women of this world are confused. You all want to be treated as the weaker vessel but at the same time want equal right with the men. How does that work?

Problem of the women folks is, they have abandoned their GOD given uniqueness in a bid to compete with men.

We are all humans but we are not equals. GOD is not stupid, he made men lord over the women for a reason.
Wrong...God created both equal but there are different in nature.

Re: Senate's Rejection Of The Gender Equality Bill: Nigerians React On Twitter by Toroze(m): 10:33am On Mar 16, 2016
Quite honestly this matter shouldn't have gotten to this stage it's a simple question of do we have gender inequality in Nigeria, if the answer to that question is yes then what are we going to do about it. Yes they are the weaker vessel but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't have equal rights as the men being weak has nothing to do with it, rights are rights you can't for go someone's right just because he is weak, especially when that weakness isn't of their own making but is based on something that some might say has been in existence since way before our time weakness shouldn't even come into it, IMHO they should even be the ones whose rights we have to consider the more, rights are rights whether one is weak or not shouldn't be a question. If gender inequality is present here in Nigeria which I believe it is then there is no reason as to why that bill shouldn't have being passed.

Are we surprised?

Why are we deceiving ourselves? The gender equality idea has a long way to go before it becomes accepted in our society.

Even on Nairaland, Stúpid boys are quick to degrade females and call them unsavoury names when they air their views.

The other day one nincompoop was boldly calling women cheaper than market commodities forgetting his mother, sisters and daughters are females. Hope he knows better now.

The truth is we have a long way to go.

There are lots of Alpha Nigerian females. They are the ones that riots my blood just seeing them dazzling with confidence and ambition.

You need to find them and change your perceptions accordingly. Agreed that most of ladies today are sexy on the outside and fish brain on the inside. beautiful container, rotten content.
This is the reason why such bill must not see the light of the day.

The coconut heads and the feminists wannabes among these females will abuse such bill to the detriment of weak effeminate men.
Gender equality as it concerns justice in economic equality would be a welcome development but to give these loud mouthed Nigerian women equal rights is a capital 'NO'
Make dem go sitdon for kitchen let the smart ones compete favorably with men.
We can't afford to make every bimbo in town stronger than they already are.

haha.... Equal right my foot. This won't workout, everyone should maintain their lane. Women are men's partner they are not head.
They want equal right but men takes the responsibilities at home.
They want equal right but we, only have few women in our armed forces.
They won't equal right so that they can file for divorce anyhow.

In James browns, *This is a man's world but it would be nothing without a woman *
In a nutshell, men are the oga of women but, women should be treated right by men.

Has anything ever come out of their endless reaction? Most of our women are lazy politically, they aren't even current on the affairs of this country.

When men are treading on thorns while planning and scheming on how to run the country, they are busy painting nails, bleaching their skins, imitating the life of their favourite celeb and posting almost unclad pics online to get likes.

When the plans maturegrin and things pan out accordingly they(women) will start talking about equality.

Who reaps where he didn't work?

There are alotta things they could have done to ensure the bill is passed but how many of them even know that such bill exist?

ur assertion may be right, but generalising it is cruel n unfair. d question is, is it all men that are threading on thorns as u illustrated or there are some wasting away? is it all women that engage in all those things u listed? if u v been discriminated cos of ur gender or skin colour in d past, u will understand that some women who are careless about politics n oda issues were kicked into a corner by d trends in d society which made dem believe they are less privileged cos they are women.

This is why countries like ours will never achieve our potential. It seems some men are terrified of women being treated as equals. We will be forced to change our discriminatory mentality one way or the other.

How will you feel if you go out on a date, and the man ask you to pay part of the bill...I know for sure, u will bring the matter here on NL...
U guys better face it, as it is...am not against women leadership in anyway, but u ought to know dat men and women are not of equal making...QED

When senate used bible and quoran to justify incaseration of homosexuals , it was cool. Homosexual is western and not african. They forgot bible and Qur'an are also not African.

Now they use the same quoran and bible to justify no gender equality, it is bad..oh. Screw the bible and quoran now..

grin grin

Well done senate.. No to homosexual

No to gender equality..

Bible and quiran must be upheld.
