The worst people are the feminists...the hypocrisy is nauseating!

Feminism is just a hocus-pocus of pride!

You just painted a perfect picture of what feminism is all about.

Feminism is satanic....!

Say no to feminism.

This is why countries like ours will never achieve our potential. It seems some men are terrified of women being treated as equals. We will be forced to change our discriminatory mentality one way or the other.
Let me give you an example.

Two people are vying for presidency(MALE $FEMALE).

The voters happened to be 80% women

men 20% .

You will agree with me that naturally the woman should win the election judging by the number of female voters, but that won't be the case because most of Nigerian women are very jealous of each other and hate each other. They will rather vote for the man and render their fellow woman a looser.

WOMEN SHOULD FIRST OF ALL LEARN TO LOVE EACH AND STOP PULLING THEMSELVES DOWN IF THEY WANT MEN TO TAKE THEM SERIOUS.

Naija women don't like each other.

That's not what inequality means. Simple: do not discriminate SOLELY based on gender. Nobody is denying that women are usually physically less stronger than men, but ---where strength is not the only criteria---there are several other qualities that determine whether a person deserves a certain position. Sometimes it might just be a woman and a person shouldn't be denied an opportunity or service just because of their gender. It's about treating people equally and with respect.
You talking of equity which is already happening.

If your thought is after marriage may be divorce lock around read this Bible verse.
Malachi 2: 16

"For I hate divorce!" says the LORD, the God of Israel. "To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. "So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife."
Sadly! The gold diggers don't give a 'damn' about the verse and the court will rule against you..

I'm with you on this. I'm not aware of any law preventing a woman from being all she wants to be (at least here in the south). A woman can vie for any position in this country.
Even in the north, women vie for post. What equal right do they want again. They should go to Saudi and see how women are not allowed to drive, even they just lifted ban on women to study law. What else do Nigerian women want?

1. Women are mothers and who are mothers: - mothers are those women that their hearts are their children’s classroom.
Proverbs 31:10-30 (in short details)
• She is a commendable wife and mother.
• She lives for her home and family.
• She is constantly industrious.
• She is self-disciplined and orderly.
• She is a sharp business woman.
• She has good, refined tastes.
• She manifests the grace of hospitality.
• She is charitable in time of need.
• She is virtuous because she is spiritually-minded.
2. Woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to top him, nor out of his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved by him.
Woman has the willingness to listen, the patience to understand, the strength to support, the heart to care & just to be there….that is the beauty of a woman!

You are contradicting yourself at the bolded.
We are equal yet you want me to protect you, according to your summation.
This is what man/woman needs 'EQUITY' not feminism.

A woman that's up to the task does not need the Senate to tell her that she is up to the task. What do we stand to gain from the equality bill exactly? Forget what you heard even yankee sef no dey equal in terms of gender. I really don't see any form of discrimination against women in the first place.
Re: Senate's Rejection Of The Gender Equality Bill: Nigerians React On Twitter by xto86(m): 2:02pm On Mar 16, 2016
Let the women begin to act like they are men and I'll support them. There is nowhere in the world where women are treated same as men. Its not just about making laws but the willingness of those concerned to act accordingly. BTW the Senate no try anyways.

Women of this world are confused. You all want to be treated as the weaker vessel but at the same time want equal right with the men. How does that work?

Problem of the women folks is, they have abandoned their GOD given uniqueness in a bid to compete with men.

We are all humans but we are not equals. GOD is not stupid, he made men lord over the women for a reason.

Bless you.

There are alotta things they could have done to ensure the bill is passed but how many of them even know that such bill exist? You will soon tell me that the reason it is difficult for an Igbo man to become president in Nigeria is because they have been kicked to a corner because they're women.

I've never seen a woman open an automobile passenger door for a man to enter, close it, then proceed to the driver's entrance to drive him to his destination, alight, come around to the passenger's side door, open the door for the man to alight.

I've seen men do it for ladies every day, maybe I never 'waka' reach; has anyone seen one, pls update.

'Abeg' make us equal -- it's funny the gender that gets all the privileges, is the same gender that whines about everything.

2 cars in the house, the woman goes with the new one, while the man goes with the rickety old one, and if anything happens on the way, they abandon it and call us to come and get our property o . . . 'abegi' . . .

Nothing like gender equality biko. GOD is not stupid. He created the man to protect the woman. The man is created to be the head of the woman while GOD is the head of the man.

The problem of the world is the 50%50% nonsense. That was never the plan of GOD. The man is to be led by GOD and the woman led by the man while the children follow their parents.

We got to the world and changed everything which led to so many corrupt children, thieves, rapist and what have you. The business of the woman is to keep the home, she is an organiser. She is not a leader, she is not equal to the man but unique from the man.

The annoying thing is, most of the people shouting didn't know of the existence of such bills.

Go on, hit a woman and you get told by the same women folks looking for equality, that you are shameless for hitting a weaker vessel.

Ask them the type of man they want to date or be married too - provision and security will definitely one way or the other be listed but they want gender equality.

Yeyenatu.

Oga when you are quoting, you quote correctly. The man is the Lord of the woman only within the context of marriage. Or can you go and Lord another man's wife? We are talking of equal opportunities in the economic, educational and social space where if your daughter is a more intelligent engineer for instance, she should get the job and not be rejected over a man who might be less intelligent. Truth be told, how many men are even leading their families? Stories of drunken and lazy husbands and irresponsible fathers with baby mamas everywhere abounds, forcing women to go all out and provide for themselves and their kids to avoid starvation.

Quote right and live right, you can not progress from holding down 60% of your population.

One day, Nigeria women will be the determining factor of the stability of this nation. We will never beg for relevance, but a time will come wen my fellow women will wake up from their slumber and realise that with our population strength, we can make a thunderous and united voice that all will be forced to listen to.

If not for a woman you will not exist to say this crap, it was her decision to keep you in her womb that makes you turn around and insult them like this "We are not equal" yes I agree, you can't be equal to them, remember you came out through one of their yansh.
U re so gullible! If not for a woman, males won't exist?? Now tell me, without a man's sperm, can a woman reproduce??

And dnt forget dat d gender of "every" unborn child is determined by d male gene. So in reality, males re d ones wu create baby males nd baby females. A woman is just a vessel used in accomplishing dat goal.

It's just lyk a baker(male) who bakes flours(babies)... den put it in d oven(woman's womb) for minutes(9months). Wen it's done, d product(baby-male/female) is a work of d baker. Pple never shower praises on d oven.

In truth, men conspired to perpetually lock women down and deceive them not to know what they really worth. I think the use of the terms "equality" and "equity" create misleading ideas in most commentators' minds. The Bill does not seek to change or alter the definition of manhood, it reaffirms values the ideal African woman should have. The Bill clearly states it effects the Constitution and our own Bill of Rights.

Nobody wants raped wives and daughters. Yes men do get raped but dreadful criminals use rape as a weapon just as an AK 47 on women.

The Bill reaffirms the right of the father over his daughters on the issue of marriage. The father's permission must be sought for.

As regards employment, African women are not idle women. They contribute to their homes. I think Igbo women farm while the men hunt and trade, while Yoruba women trade while the men farm. The man can't do all the work, so Nigerian women should not be discriminated when working.

Every property a married woman owns belongs to her husband as well. The husband has constructive ownership over his wife's property. If the woman is denied property rights, the man is similarly deprived. Upon her demise, property belongs fully to the man.

Some traditions and customs are really archaic and horrifying. Human sacrifices and the sort. Good married women with legitimate children should be subjected to such conditions and treatment. It is not fair.

The only problem the Bill has is it's potential conflict v with Sharia. Sharia as interpreted by Northern Nigerians. Almost every secular law conflicts with Sharia. CBN Act conflicts with Sharia loool!.

Most people just thought it is a feminist crusade which it isn't. The Bill dwells on the basic.
