blogging: an introvert in nature

i was crushing on one lady. i decided to join the class she was. funny enough, she had a crush on me too but i was too inexperience to make any move. right under my nose, another guy had her.
i would say she was god-sent because i love my chosen field to death.

lol, had much passion for it since when i was a kid, parents were a lil involved tho.

Mine was medicine and surgery. I chose it cos I realised the pretty chicks easily fell for doctors. And now I am today engaged to a beautiful queen

Unemployment

When admission into the department of my choice wasn't forth coming, one had to look elsewhere.

I can say that I have no regrets so far on the career path I am on. It's a case of when life gives you lemons, make a lemonade!

I will say Dr. Femi Adekanye, former President of CIBN and CEO of defunct Commerce Bank

As an under-10 kid in the late 80s to early 90s, I related with his extended family back home in Kwara. His family house was a stone-throw from ours. Anytime he visited home from Lagos, the whole neighbourhood stood still as everyone came out to watch his convoy of cars, usually Daewoo Racer and Daewoo Espero. I heard he was a banker.

Later, I read about him in the papers as Bank CEO. I vowed to be a banker like him.

When I wanted to write my UME in 2000, I chose Finance in Unilag, but my brother, a more experienced person, advised that I choose Economics in OAU(because he felt Economics is broader than Finance and OAU is easier to get admission into that Unilag).

I went back to my UME form, cleaned the course/school with Tipex and chose Economics/OAU.

I knew I can still become a banker with economics degree. But in 200L in Ife, due majorly to MSSN influence, I perished the ambition to become a banker and switched to oil and gas as my aim. I was fortunate to get an oil and gas job immediately after NYSC, and I have been there all my post-NYSC career, but as an accountant, not an economist.

I became an accountant by accident. I decided to write ICAN exams during my NYSC to keep myself busy. ICAN got me an accounting job post-NYSC and I have been accountant since.

Passion Amd Ability

Original course had not been accredited back then...alternatively I had to choose the closest one.

I was expecting inspirational comments, but clowns ti take over thread. Unemployment is about influencing my career for real.

Wanted to be a doctor, but as a young Thomas Edison who loves to see how electrical system works by destroying my father's table fan and radio in the name of working on it. I decided to go into Electrical Engineering to prove to my siblings that those strokes of cane on my buttocks won't just be a waste. And here am I an engineer.

Also, I was comparing my two uncles, one a doctor and the other, an engineer. I felt the engineer has more money than the doctor. No bi today my eye begin chuke for money nah.

I wanted to be a Banker or an Economist (from childhood) though I was very good in my English & Literature.
First Jamb was Economics, was denied admission, but at a point, I felt that wasn't my calling(Especially as Maths and figures{except money} do give me headaches). Second Jamb Mass Comm. Even though I wasn't so keen about it(was more of an introvert owing to my background but I just wanted a course I could really pass easily)...

While on campus for the post utme, I made couple of friends and most of them thought I applied for Law. I said no...God forbid o... Its a very hard course...Lawyers are into occultism....they are liars... Its for the hard heartened. I equated law with medicine and left for me, I just wanted to get admission, finish school in 4 years and start making good money.

Then one guy made a statement that changed the course of my destiny. "Do you think those guys in the faculty of law are more intelligent than you are?, they are not........". Now this was quite motivating.

I did my research, made friends with Law students(some were below average sha) got some books, and discovered Law was my true calling. I'm happy I listened to that guy though... I find this joy doing a course that involves what I love to do on daily basis.

Back then In my secondary school days (about 10 years ago). I used to have these friends who were from Ajebo background. They were more or less familiar with Computer, I guess, due to the fact that their parents could afforded to get them laptops.... I had no idea what a mouse does on a pc (back then), let alone the basic computer components.. These friends would come to school, brag and argue about computer, I would just sit at one corner and be an observer......... to cut the story Short...... My Secondary friends love for Computer influenced my life to loving Computer...... Today,I'm proud I haven't made a wrong step by choosing computer.

All over the world, passion has been the driving inertia!

But here in Nigeria is often money. But I strongly believe that if one is passionate in his career choice, he will comfortably eke our a living from it.

Was 4years old, in the mid '80s. my mom always warned me about playing with/poking metallic objects into the electrical sockets of the house until I got the ZAP of my life. Ever since then I wanted to understand the mystery behind electricity and how to defeat it.
Now I'm a practising Electrical engineer with great respect for the awesome power of electricity

Money n Passion

I had passion for the course but more than passion i felt it was the course i knew more in secondary school then.

For some University students though they wouldn't admit it's Jamb

I wanted to prove to my dad that i can make it without his assistance. He's too proud of his achievement
Secondly, lecturing job in Nigeria wasn't looking col to me. I decided to go the business way and hopefully with a lot of experience, own my own business.
