As an experienced West African traveller, lol grin Lemme advice you.
Better carry cash on you, because ATMs have been blocked, except it is a dolkat/Euro account.
Learn at least some phrases in French. It will help you. Numbers will help you even more, if not you go hear an for there o.

Draw your roadmaps on time too.

Which cities are you doing?

Cotonou-Lome-Accra-Abidjan-Bamako-Dakar?

or you go cut am?
Willing to hear from you

Ugosample,
I have done most of my homework. I am still bad with French though. I will be in Cotonou tomorrow. By Monday, I should move over to Lome and then Accra during the weekends. I plan to end it all in Abidjan, but if I have enough money left, I should try out Burkina Faso.

Thankfully, I was part of AIESEC, a student organization present in about 126 countries(All West African countries). I will be staying and touring with fellow AIESEC members and Alumni as hosts in each country.

Hopefully, I no go enter one chance. Will give guys feedbacks with time.

Thanks!

As of last week, 1000 Naira was 1800 CFA. I think it is dropping further. Not sure though.

I am currently in Abidjan. it is 1000 Naira to 1000 CFA at their airport and then 1000 Naira to 1300 CFA at BDC guys here.

However, the rate is still the same at the banks... 2.99 or so. Not sure. Though you can't use your ATM card.

Yes, I use the Ecobank MasterCard in Benin and Ghana and it works well. What i usually do is withdraw a small amount to have an idea of the rate before proceeding with my main transaction.

It depends on the type of Passport you have. You do not need a visa if your country is a member of ECOWAS.

As long as you have a passport with ECOWAS written on it, lol grin you DON'T need a visa.
