I love bankers. The control all this money and can't spend em. ha ha  ha.
sorry guys I'm just pissed up @ my dad for wasting a better part of his life working for UBA i totaly hate that bank.
in my growing years, I only saw him (sometimes) on sundays cos he comes home by 1pm and leaves by 4 in the morning.
b4 he retired from the STUPID bank as a manager, they have him one tokumbo official car.

when small boiz in technology firms are getting brand new cars, houses,

don't waste your life like my da* with these banks if you can, setup your wife (if married) and invest in one side biz regularly if not,
you'll endup riding KEKE marua like one of my dad's colleagues.  My dad is laughing at the guy butt,

if not that my mum was kinda stubborn and refused to stay at home idle and started her own business, we would have been WORSE.

clearing operations basically entails the transfer of funds(fiduciary transactions)from one bank to the other through the use of financial instruments(cheque, draft or M.C) with The CBN acting as regulators.
Now don't disgrace your bank, you will be trained on what to do.
Re: Bankers' Forum by onopepo(m): 6:28pm On Aug 27, 2009

@vezycash,

I am so proud of your Mum, I bet she was not very popular with you guys back then with her 'stubborness' but the stubborness has lifted some stress off the family.

so moving to another bank will solve this for you?
appraise urself and see if u have developed some other skillsets in the 3 years

wht professional exams have you completed?
if these are negatives, then a new job wouldnt necessarily negate the monotony ure suffering in your present place
Re: Bankers' Forum by Ziggyjoel(f): 9:54am On Sep 28, 2009
that was a brilliant point dear poster. the entire economy aint stagnant, but dynamic. if for 3 years, u added no further qualification, i guess u may be left behind soon. u hav got to step up o!
cheesy

Hi all, for those working in banks that had their MD sacked and replaced recently, i hope its not affecting the staffs. Is there any change in work enviroment, staff salary and so on?
Re: Bankers' Forum by MCicero(m): 11:50am On Oct 04, 2009
Hi,

Im new to NairaLand and have been working in banking for 4 years (outside Nigeria). For the past 1 year, I have been in treasury operations (brokerage and investigation). What I need to find out is how relevant this sort of experience is in Naija, as I aim to give this a couple of years and then head home.

Regards,
Cicero.

I know guys that works in Intercontinental and Oceanic. Intercontinental and oceanic did not pay their staff for the month of August and the pay was cut after it was received. The new MD of intercontinental said he was shocked to see how much the bank earmark on expenses every month, he said the bank can not obviously support the expenses. There are rumors that the bank plans on closing several branches.
