I think it's time Innoson starts to engage auto designers both locally and internationally, to develop vehicle designs models for him. Acquiring platforms and transfer of models from China could attract unnecessary litigation.

The chinese are still battling several lawsuits because of imitation. Their government have been protecting them He should be careful because the Nigerian government might not shield him like the Chinese are doing for their manufacturers, albeit illegally

2) All major car makers run assembly plants. They do not make all the components of the vehicles themselves (for example, most of the parts of the Mercedes Benz G Class are made by Steyr.

3) A lot of the parts that are used to make Innoson vehicles are made by other manufacturers in Nnewi.

Cool car, very sweet but copied too much from d Mercedes Benz G Wagon, Inosson be very careful for right infringements. Trust me I didnt call it bad, just suggesting they know how to go about their business.

A Benz G-Wagon copy cat. That's one flaw with the Chinese people who IVM is in partnership with, they lack originality. That's how some of their other car look like Toyota's.

The designs of Innoson vehicles are sourced from China (especially from GAC GoNow), but quite a lot of the parts are made in Nigeria (especially in Nnewi) by companies like Ibeto Group, Omata Holdings, Chicason and Cutix Cables. The plastic that's used in Innoson vehicles is made by Innoson Technical and Industrial Co. Ltd.

For those screaming "lawsuit" and saying that Mercedes Benz will sue Innoson, I can bet you that there will be no lawsuit.

There will only be a lawsuit if ideas are taken without permission, so how do you know that permission was not granted to innoson (to use those ideas)?

This SUV is a nigerian version of the BAIC BJ80. The Beijing Automotive Industry Holdings Co (BAIC) has a lot of joint ventures with Daimler (Mercedes Benz), including Beijing Benz and Beijing Foton Daimler.

The Innoson 80 SUV is manufactured under license from Beijing Benz which makes the BAIC BJ80.

The front grill of the vehicle, which some have wrongly attributed to the Hummer SUV, is actually from Jeep (take a look at Jeep Wranglers, Jeep Cherokees, etc). BAIC also previously had agreements with Jeep and that's why there are design cues from Jeep on the vehicle.
