nairamaniac: I see you are a Kyrie lover and really he is good. The thing about ceilings is, you expect a player with a so-called higher ceiling to get better at other areas of his game. That's how you can project he will get better. That's why I showed you 2 key areas of his game that are dipping. I could have added his steals or assists. Those are the metrics that PGs should be assessed by and if Kyrie is not improving there- he may not have the higher ceiling. That's what I am putting out. The Jordan the NBA got to see was not better than Worthy in North Carolina. So when a player improves in his handles it doesn't mean he is less than someone who already had it. That's another area you need to consider in order not to present a lopsided argument. The improvement we expect Kyrie to make to solidify your appraisal of him is he doesn't just need to be the best PG but the MVP of the NBA at least twice. So the clock is ticking. There is not much to add. I think the evidence supports the claim that Kyrie is indeed a streak shooter. Apart from that, it is also beyond stats. If you watched the games against OKC you'd see copious occasions that Curry hit his 3s on Ibaka, Adams, Kante and KD. I mean even Curry joked that Tall players marking him around the arc is barbecue chicken. And lastly, you said greatER shooters and mentioned Kobe, Fischer and Horry. The "er" made it a comparison and that's why I took exceptions to the statement. Obviously those players are greats especially Kobe who is top 7 to me. Nobody can possibly denigrate him With a straight face. Least of all, me. |

nairamaniac: 1. I didn't say that Curry played well in those games but that his underwhelming game didn't matter because his team did the business. If Heats had beaten Mavs in 2011 people won't have noticed Brons abscence in game 6. 2. See feet shuffling, skipping screens? They are means to an end. The end is weighed by seeing steals or blocks. So the way to tell who was doing what is to see the end product. That's why some people are constantly called out when they underestimate Curry's defending. Chances are PGs are not judged on how many blocks they get per game as it is not quotidian to see such. 3. I did not watch the MJ vs Jazz game in real time as I am not that old. LOL. But I watched it on YouTube as those games are still available. Nobody and I mean nobody has said Jordan was not the goat. The point is that one can watch a game via a blue screen and swear that every one they saw was blue in color. The point is, the narrative concerning Jordan's greatness is sometimes skewed and overreaching. Doesn't take anything from his shine. I believe I called him the GOAT still. |

lolawilliams: Porz had a great rookie year, if he does not suffer the dreaded sophomore slump then I would be sold on him. I believe he is talented with good prospects especially considering he is European trained, Euro players are better grounded about the fundamentals and mental discipline required of the game. Hey, did I congratulate u on your championship yet? Here is to you Lola and other Cav fanatics on this thread, well deserved. |
Re: The NBA Begins by lolawilliams(f): 10:11pm On Jun 28, 2016 |
Donlittle:Lool. He isnt healthy at alll. Im sure thats the reason why bulls traded him. |
Re: The NBA Begins by lolawilliams(f): 10:29pm On Jun 28, 2016 |
Roland17: He had a really great season with the new york knicks. For him to avg 14.3 points,7.3rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.9 blocks per game, thats so nice for a rookie. As for the ring we won, its still a dream . Thanks |

nairamaniac:Baba which way now? M.J never shot less than 45% his first 8 years in the league. In fact his lowest percentages were 45 and 48. For the rest part he was dropping over 53%. I been dey enjoy your analysis before I read that part |

Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 7:28am On Jun 29, 2016 |
lolawilliams:If the Knicks manage to stabilize his health then they bring Kevin Durant, they are definitely in the conference finals against the Cavs. Melo has always been my crush since I fell in love with Basketball. When He was drafted (Number 4 I think) I did not even pay attention to Lebron then (though he was first pick). Carmelo is so talented. He lacks some charisma and discipline nonetheless. With Durant, a healthy Derrick Rose, Melo, and Porginzis (if he confirms the good expectations he raised last season) the Knicks would be a serious candidate in the East, and Durant would have greater chance than if he stays in OKC without Ibaka. |

A40: Sorry, meant field goals on 3's. They wr really that low or maybe even lower than 25% in his first few year, if my memory serves me right. It was from sometime around 1990 his percentage jumped to above 30%. No one really cared bout shooting percentages/efficiencies amongst several other stats back then. |

lolawilliams:The biggest mistake cavs made last season was increasing loves salary to such outrageous amounts. Love is good, but was a big fish in a small bowl in wolves. Cousins is top2 best center in the NBA. Kings wd never give out cousins for Love. I think we should go for more perimeter players rather than bigs, like what OKC did by adding oladipo. I still believe Lue should either up grade or be changed. He didn't run enough plays for cavs. Individual brilliance won cavs the series against golden state. |
Re: The NBA Begins by nairamaniac: 9:04am On Jun 29, 2016 |
Mizzzbeee:Anyone of Kd, cousins or Whiteside the worriors gets would give them at least 3more tittles in next 5years. They may even 3peat. It was a mistake for cavs to have hit the luxury tax by giving love and Tristan such high contracts. |

Re: The NBA Begins by SIRcumalot: 9:09am On Jun 29, 2016 |
nairamaniac:you could say the same about cousins. I keep seeing this 2nd best center in the league stuff who be the first gasol ? he has never made the playoffs he had George Karl and Rondo, Rudy gay also dey kings love is a fine player and deserves his contract. I know he'll still get traded, when a decent package is given to the cavs, hopefully it is a place tailored to his skills. |
Re: The NBA Begins by nairamaniac: 9:09am On Jun 29, 2016 |
Donlittle:No one really ever shot the 3 that much back then. I'm not that old (LOL), but I think 3 point line was implemented in the NBA sometime in the earliest 80's or late 70's. |

Re: The NBA Begins by nairamaniac: 9:24am On Jun 29, 2016 |
SIRcumalot:Yes, cousins is amongst the best 2centers in the league. Amongst the class of Andre Drummond and Whiteside, or maybe even better. I would even take Whiteside and Deandre Jordan ahead of Love in cavs. These last mentioned 2 are far more rugged than Love and would compliment Lebron/kyrie more than Love does. It would take the grace of God for Cavs to get a Top trade for Love. |

nairamaniac:Cleveland isn't using love well you can't reduce a player of his type to just a spot up shooter, sadly there is no easy way to fix it,love doesn't fit. I think they will get it the cavs are the champion they don't need to do anything they will just wait for some team to swing for Durant and miss and then panic am looking mostly at the Celtics. Cleveland already have a big that can't get any minute( Mozgov) whiteside and DJ ability is why the cavs have TT. |
Re: The NBA Begins by borngeologist(m): 2:06pm On Jun 29, 2016 |
Harden is just too good for houston,he should just go to a better team.or cavs should trade love for harden. That guy beards just make me like him die |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 8:28pm On Jun 29, 2016 |
borngeologist:Love for Harden?? I thought Love was already regarded as a poor defender. Well Harden will play better Offense no need for Defense |

Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 10:08pm On Jun 29, 2016 |

Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 10:13pm On Jun 29, 2016 |
Seems the Warriors are meeting with Durant on Friday. Klay, Kerr and Curry would be there to pitch. And something tells me K.D just might sign with the Warriors. Unlikely but looking at it its not as improbable as you might think There is talk of Barnes attracting interest from the Sixers. Good that is his level |
Re: The NBA Begins by nairamaniac: 7:01am On Jun 30, 2016 |
Eruditor: Yeah, I'm a kyrie lover. But don't get me wrong, he is no where near curry's level. Yeah, he does have a high ceiling. Talking bout his steals and assist. I don't expect him to improve in assist, cos he's more of an offensive/scoring point guard than a playmaking one. And you also must have noticed that lots of guys don't play much defence during the regular season till playoffs, e.g Lebron, curry. Kyrie doesn't need to make MPV twice in order to solidify my appraisal of him towards his improvement. You saying so would seem he must mirror curry's CV in one way or another to earn such appraisal. What I see of kyrie is being considered top3 point guards in the league soon. Consistently leading the cavs in scoring soon. Averaging above 25points per game. Being the go-to guy for cavs. You may be right about curry being able to hit 3's better on tall giants. Maybe iv not taken note. But most times, I usually see him beating them with dribbles and going closer to the hoop and hence making 2's rather then 3's. We would both be around by Gods grace next season to observe and conclude on this. And lastly did I really say greatER? I had to scroll back to my post to confirm this. What a typographical blunder. I must HV been spell-helped to it. There were much greater shooter in the league at the time. Hurry, Kobe, fisher were great shooters for the Lakers triangle system. Add rick fox to the mix and they had shooters all over the place. |
